Unlike other local contractors, Jim arrived on time for our estimate appointment, he was thorough and his estimates provided realistic price ranges for his work. His crew performed the work in a reasonable amount of time and did quality work. When the work was complete he reviewed everything that was done and tied up all "loose ends" before expecting payment.

Mr. fix it was very punctual, had small leak in water line main in attic. I woke up in morning to water dripping through ceiling, called them and they were there in less than 2hrs. as promised. Since the leak was not gushing water and the damage had already been done that was fine. While he was at my house I remembered I also had a light switch that needed replacing and that was no problem he fixed that as well. He told me for future problems they would be able to fix anything inside or out at my house. I will use them again.

Work was done over an extended period of a few months, as we were in no hurry and we let the contractor schedule us as time permitted with his other urgent jobs. I did ask him for a contract quote on some concrete work that I need to have done, and he never came back to me. a bit disappointed in that. But overall, I am happy with the quality and execution of the work done, although expensive, I feel that I received good value for the work done.

Jim and his staff are professional and courteous. They respond to phone calls, did the estimate quickly and calendared the work on the day in requested. They are technology aware which helps with their efficiency. Their labor fee is higher than most but I got it back in the long term. For example a cabinet make who previously did work in the kitchen had given me an estimate of $1000 to do the closet door project with nothing special ideas. Jim did it for $500 using better sliding doors. He is very helpful with advice for other projects and always seems to find a way to save you money. The only I didn't like, which was my own fault, was after he left I realized there was a 5% coupon on his company listing for Angie's list members. I should have looked. Bummer.

Jim, the owner came to my house for a walkthrough where I showed him every issue I had. I went over everything we wanted, he wrote it down and gave me a quote. I then accepted his quote and scheduled the work. An employee of Mr. Fix It (Don) arrived at my house and the first thing he asked me was, what outlets are not working. Right away I was upset. I went over this with Jim and felt if he wasn't going to be here, he should have had his guy prepared and with the knowledge to get the job done. I showed him the outlets. At this point I had to leave to work, so I was in contact with my wife with how the job was going. This guy screwed around with the outlets for 2 1/2 hours and couldn't figure out how to fix them. Eventually Jim showed up and they were trying to figure it out together. I called Jim in a panic making sure he wasn't charging me by the hour for their lack of knowledge working on electrical. So he finally found out where the issue was as he said there was a break in the line and that he would have to quote me another price to fix it, and perform the work another day. Meanwhile, during this time, they put in a new air tube on my tub and charged me like $129 for something they worked on for a few minutes. So obviously, they were trying to work in their time on screwing around with the electrical. Then it turns out that Mr. "Fix it" doesn't fix garage doors. He had hired another contractor to do that work. When I asked where was he, and that we had scheduled the job for this morning, he told me he had two other jobs to do and would try and make it today. I was furious. I then called "King Door" and scheduled them for the next day. The charge was pretty much the same and they did a full inspection of everything and made sure everything was working. Jim showed up not scheduled and had a guy coming to working on the garage door. He never ended up fixing the broken line, he rewired it....so searching for it the previous day forever was just a waste. There was an outlet in the master which he never fixed period. His garage door guy fixed the spring but didn't bother to look at the mechanism itself as the was some sort of malfunction and the light wasn't working. Were gonna have to pay someone else to fix that now. I had also asked him about sealing an old outlet in the master, and instead he just put a blank plate...which I didn't want. I called him to come out again to fix the remaining outlet in the master which he admitted he forgot to do. He showed up 45 minutes late and claimed he almost got in an accident. YEAH RIGHT! He said that they fixed the spring and that their service didn't include anymore than that. He also went into the master and fixed the outlet. After he left I plugged in my lamp to test it, and it wasn't working. I'm sick of it.

After he left we found they were leaking heavily under the sink.

Customer provided doors, hardware, and did all painting. Me Fixit hung doors and replaced partial door jams. The first indication of a problem was the sawdust mess left behind by the worker. The work was done while i was not home. On further inspection i found a square template was used for hinges with rounded corners, and they were placed at various depths. I had to call Mr Fixit back twice to take care of this! He and another worker filled the corners with wood putty (which has since cracked out) and shim low spots under the hinges. The doors still do not swing smoothly. I have reworked each one myself with careful attention to fit & correct hanging as I paint the door & jams, and have repaired damage to the drywall and molding that the worker also did. I'm NOT using this service again.

He was very professional and the job was done quickly. I would definitely use Mr. Fix-it again. I live in a mobile home and the place he had to work didn't have much room, but he got the work done and stopped the leak. I was using a sponge for the water to drip on, so I wouldn't have to listen to the constant drip.

Please read in full. Part ONE... issue #1 The first time two of his employees came out. The whole house fan was not installed per manufacturers instructions in the box. The fan was so low that when we tested it out, the fan hit the shutters when the opened up bending the shutters and fan blades; an electrical box was not used; the existing 2x4s were not secured; the electrical was tied into our hallway light so the fan would only work if we flipped the hallway switches; gaps in attic box allowing insulation to be sucked down; they used a caulking to seal the gaps in the framing that literally melted and ran down on the shutters and my husband had to clean it up. issue #2 They installed an exterior door we custom ordered, pre-hung from Lowes. For a brand new door, we felt that it was no better than our old door by the time they finished. It did not shut properly allowing gaps between the door and frame; outside light all around; the door jamb was up off the ground and the plastic underneath was busted; I had to ask them to adjust the trim three times. I called the owner to express my disappointment, that's about the only word I can think of. He offered to stop by and take a look. When he stopped by, he said he would order new shutter and fan blade, fix the wiring on the whole house can. He said he would either order us a new door or at the very least frame or build frame by hand and fix the door. We rescheduled. The owner's solutions: When he came out the second time they did fix the fan and wiring too. However we noticed that the ceiling in the hallway is now collapsing in one corner causing the shutter to not fit right and bend in the middle. We are going to have to have someone secure the 2x4s in the attic and lift the hallway ceiling up at our expense of course. As far as the door goes, he did not build a new frame or bring out a complete new pre hung door as he stated. We were *very* disappointed. When we look through the door latch in the frame we can see inside the wall and one screw is NOT in a 2x4, it is just in the frame. Our frustration: They fixed the door to the best of their abilities. We waited to post until we had our second door installed. We had Lowes install the second exterior door and will rehire that contractor to correct the first door once again at our expense. I suggest hiring a professional to hang doors. As far as the whole house fan, it might be worth it to go with a whole house fan company even if it is more expensive.

It went fabulous. There were multiple workers at my home at one time. They were all very professional. They did their jobs diligently and the work was great. Very pleased with the work and would definitely hire them again. I felt the owner, Jim, was very fair and honest.

This is the second time I have used Mr. Fix It and it went great just like the first time. The lights were installed exactly where I asked and they look fantastic. It was an all day job for one technician who worked diligently to get the job done. Very professional. Like I said before, the owner Jim, seems very fair and honest.

The refrigerator was extra large and moving it took more time than we thought. The refrigerator doors had to be removed to take it out of the old house. In the new home he reattached the doors and installed the ice maker. He was very accomodating and efficient. I plan to use him again.

All A's, but the B for quality comes from two items. The tile I feel issued was 2"x4" tiles on a mesh backing so each square foot was prearranged. During the course of install, the nature of the space required deviation from the pre-meshed pattern, and they also didn't use spacers between the tiles that weren't pre-meshed. This led to an inconsistent pattern/no pattern look as well as inconsistent spacing between many tiles. Once I got home from work on Day 1 of the job I called the owner, Jim, and explained the issues and requested a remedy immediately while the cement was still tacky. Jim exhibited great leadership and personally came, with his main tile guy in tow, and worked through the evening to correct all of the pattern and spacing inconsistencies. Jim then cancelled the rest of his workload and personally oversaw and helped finish the rest of the job for the remainder of the week. It all looks beautiful now, and their attention to detail and style were much improved for the remainder of the project.

great in every detail...this guy knows his craft...friendly, punctual and honest...he gave us options and explained everything in a way the anybody could understand...his employee, don, did the work...don was on time, clean, friendly and did a great job...i think our 50-something year old house has a new best friend!!! we WILL be using him again...worth every penny!!!

Don, one of Jim's employees, showed up a bit early (a good thing) and performed all the work. He was driven to take the time to do it right, and thought through potential future issues of what I asked him to do and proposed a better way to install the light fixtures to reduce sag and fall risks down the road. Everything was done well and they provide a volume based discount for the work because I bundled a bunch of mini projects into one visit, which improved the value of the cost/benefit for me. I am now scheduling them for some additional projects!

The people came when they said they would. I had a couple of things I felt needed a little more work, and they just did it. No argument. It was a wonderful job. They are great people and I will definitely use them again if I need more work done.

It was kind of pricey but they showed up on time and did what needed to get done. They were very polite and professional.

Job went well they came from Bakersfield on time which is impressive. The job was professionaly done. I gave a b professionalism only because I think employees should wear a logo shirt that represents the company .

I'm very pleased with the work that was done. I chose a kitchen sink that was difficult and frustrating to install and they did an excellent job. It was also necessary to reinforce the the cabinets since I did some damage in the demolition. They were very professional in all aspects and I will definitely use them again.

Jim was very helpful. He gave me a quote over the phone. After checking with another company, I called him back and let him know the other company had doubled his time estimate. I asked him to come out and give a firm estimate as I didn't want any surprises once his contractors were here. He understood and made an appointment that worked for both our schedules. He gave me a low-high estimate which I thought was fair. I felt good going with Mr. Fix-it because he was knowledgable and licensed. When his "door" guy came, he worked quickly and efficiently. He also had no problems with our curious cat following him around the entire 4 hours. Our doors are now nice and tight and we are not air conditioning the whole neighborhood. We plan on using Mr. Fix-it for a bunch more projects!
