Harper, W W Pools & Spas

I arranged with Doug at Harper Pools to come to my home near Hart Park to do an estimate for monthly pool service. I asked for an appointment on a Saturday, since I work. However, he told me that there were technicians in my area on Friday, 1/11/13, could I meet them on that day instead. I arranged to take time off work in order to do this. The pool technicians showed up on time and were friendly and professional (the only reason I'm awarding a "D" instead of "F"). I was told they only do the servicing so would be unable to provide me with a quote. He told me that Doug should call me sometime on Monday with the information. I waited and waited for a call from Harper Pools and finally gave up and called myself on Monday morning, 1/21/13. Doug wasn't available, but I was told he would call me back later that day. He called back that afternoon and basically said "Sorry I didn't call you, but your place is so far away from us we won't be able to do it". I have two big issues with this: 1) My property is only a 15 minute drive from their store. They service the pool of someone I know who lives 30 minutes from their store. How can my property possibly be "so far away" they're unable to service it! 2) If there was an issue with distance, why was it not brought up when I called to arrange for the appointment? I had to take time off of work, for what was apparently a pointless endeavor to meet technicians who 'were in my area". I had heard good things about Harper Pools, but I'd be very leery of recommending them to anyone myself. Be sure you ask questions up front and don't waste your time like I did.
