Don's Tree Service

They did an excellent job. We had a tree stump removed/ground and hauling away all of the waste from when the tree was cut. Did exactly the job we discussed when he gave a quote. Courteous, professional, on time and left the job site clean, all for a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend!

I used them quite a number of years ago and they were good. Excellent, actually. I'd give them an A overall and I'd give them an A+ for their pricing. I'd give their quality an A and their responsiveness, I'd give them an A. Punctuality, I'd give them a B. They were kind of hard to get ahold of. I'd give their professionalism an A and I would use them again. I'd tell anyone they do good work.

I called this company to request that they send someone to my home to give an estimate to prune one of my trees and remove another tree. They never showed up for the appointment and did not call to explain why they did not show up or to reschedule. Complete waste of my time and very unprofessional on their part.

I have used them for the last 5 years. The workers are excellent. You don’t even know they’ve been to your place. They are arborist and they are of course licensed and contractors. They do what they say. They are asking much from two to penny. There’s never an issue. They are only the place I use.

I'm still waiting for his returned call. ZZZZZzzzzzz. #Fail.

This was an all day job that started at 8:00AM and ended at 4:00PM. Don's awesome job, crew of 4 showed up on time, worked their rear ends off and left my property spotless when they left. They even removed an old clothesline setup, embedded in concrete, that must have been installed in the early 1960's. I purchased this home in September of 2014, it was built in 1962 in the Kern City area of Bakersfield. I have used Don before at a business location and if there were 10 Stars available, I would give them all to this outstanding company.

FANTASTIC!!! He showed up on time, did the job quickly and when he said he would and left the place clean, clean, clean!.....I will have Don's Tree Service take care of ALL of my trees from now on.

Don't even bother to call this guy. I called based on Angie's list rating. BIG MISTAKE. Called 9/2/14 was told estimate would be done by 9/5/14. After several phone calls and excuse after excuse and promised date after promised date still had no estimate on 9/17/14. Call another tree service and tree is comes out tomorrow.

Spoke with Don on Sat. , July 19. Was told would try to give me estimate on Sat, if not definitely Mon. Got an estimate on Sat. from another company. Told them I wanted to wait on Don. Monday afternoon gave ok to other company. They were finished within the hour. Still waiting on Don to call me back with estimate.

I called and left a message and within a day Don, himself, returned my call. We set up a time for him to come out and give me a quote. He was prompt and very thorough and informative. Said he would be back the following Monday and I asked if he could do the palms at our neighborhood entrances as long as he was out. He quoted me $250 for those and I know we paid another service much more than that the previous year. On my way home that Monday Don's crew was finishing up at one of the entrances. I like that Don was on site making sure his crew was doing a good job. The entrances looked great and so did the trees on my own property. His crew left no traces of being there. Just nicely trimmed palms. We have used Venebles in the past and I like Don's service better. Venebles always seems flaky and it seems like they just kind of show up at their own convenience. I would definitely use Don's again because of his competitive price, quality of work and customer service.

Don and his crew were all fantastic. It was a monumental project and they showed up ready to tackle it, fully confident and with the proper equipment for the job. The made amazingly fast work of it, never complained about the project, were enthusiastic, helpful and pleasant to be around. They gave me good advice on the trees and bushes that we left, trimmed them so that they looked great, which I didn't think was possible, and left the property in very tidy condition. They were so remarkable in everything they did that I almost regret I didn't have more properties to turn them loose on. They ground the stumps down that I asked them to and you could not tell where the trees used to be when they left. One of the stumps was an ancient old orange bush that my grandparents planted over 60 years ago in the lawn. It was completely level when they left. I know this may be what one would hope to get from tree people, but you don't always get everything done better than you expect with everything they touch. The project was formidable and when they left, the property looked so open, airy and ready to work with. Don and everyone else on the crew was polite, friendly and clearly happy to be there.

They did a very good job. They came promptly to do an estimate, then when I confirmed that I did want the work done they came the next day. Don was very nice, answered all my questions and was very professional. The work was done quickly and efficiently. They brought plywood to protect my house and some of the plants from falling fronds and pieces of the trunk. They repaired the sprinklers that were damaged during the stump grinding (which had been discussed ahead of time). My only minor complaint is that at least one of the workmen was smoking in my backyard and I did find one cigarette butt so far. I would definitely hire them again anyway!

Bonded Company. Prior estimate meeting with Owner, Don, talked over what I wanted and his suggestions agreed on work to be done. Crew on time, 5 man crew. Moved disabled vehicle clear of work area. (I was supposed to do that) 1st cut, down tree at garage and property line. Very professional work. Safety and protection of property a priority. Cut and stacked keeper wood. 2nd and 3rd cuts made in back yard. Same professional work. Cost ? I feel reasonable. Safety and good workmanship was my concern. Definitely will use again and recommend to all.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL ABOUT THEIR WORK AND ON TIME. THEY ALSO GOT THE JOB DONE QUICKLY AND CLEANED UP THE MESS THEY MADE. WE WILL BE HIRING THEM AGAIN NEXT YEAR TO REMOVE ANOTHER TREE.
