BSW Roofing & Solar Contractors

BSW install 24 solar panels on the back house, I have 2 houses . First BSW had to dig a ditch between the 2 house so that DaLessio Electrical can install all the electrical work. BSW also had to break up some concrete for to run some electrical wires underground to connect the 2 houses together. It was a big job, it took about 6-7 days from to finish. But one thing is that BSW work around my days off . Usually 2 days a week. Victor & Michelle was great with schedule. I would definitely use BSW for any future projects. I would recommend BSW ROOFING & SOLAR to anybody. They have more knowledge about solar than some of these other big solar companies (SOLAR CITY). Thanks to BSW, they did what SOLAR CITY could or would do for me.

BSW worked with us at every step of the way in regards to our new roof. The initial meeting with us clearly laid out our options and the proposal was clear and fairly priced. They coordinated their efforts with that of our lender and air conditioning contractor, thus making the entire project seamless. The BSW crew was professional and timely, leaving our yard perhaps even cleaner than they originally found it. It is a great relief to know that we have a high-grade roof which was not only professionally and correctly installed the first time, but is also backed by the quality reputation of both manufacturer and BSW.

Service was excellent all around. Evan Juline was our Rep and he's a great guy with more than 20 years experience. Questions came up as the work went along and we had no trouble moving through them with ease. We were well informed and the workers we're all friendly folks. BSW did a very nice job of keeping things clean and making sure there we no safety issues. The new roof looks amazing, BSW even took the time to spray paint the vents so it wont show the ugly rust in the future. We used the HERO Program for the roof replacement but I paid out-of-pocket for the Fascia Boards with installation. I'm sure we could have found a way to get our roof replaced cheaper but I prefer to put the work in capable hands and not have to worry about it. BSW is a very capable company, I would use them again.

Punctual, professional, answered all questions and show repairs. Would use again.

I decided to get a new roof for many reasons, but i went with BSW for one big reason : reputation. BSW has been around for a really long time and has good ratings on many sites, including the BBB and Angie's list. Evan, the gentleman I had most interaction with, was patient and very informative. He gladly explained their very specifically detailed process, and the tile choices and options, including potential limitations based on the original construction of my roof. BSW took care of the permits and preliminary inspections to assure me that the product i chose can be installed without worries. They even let me take a couple of tiles home to see how they 'went' with existing features that I wasn't going to change (Brick facade and cement work). This helped me 'see' the perfect choice for my needs. When they called and asked 'are you ready for your new roof?' I was more than excited. The process took several days, but it went smoothly, each step just as Project Manager Evan had explained it - They took the old shingles off by rolling them up in the old backing, making large 'shingle rolls', which was much faster and cleaner than other methods I've seen. The next step was to cover the roof in plywood - this went really fast too. Then the next steps were a sort of 'felt' or fabric insulation and the addition of rows of wood mounting brackets for affixing the tiles. Then the tiles arrived. The tile installation phase took the longest because these guys are artists - precision work! Every day, at the end of the workday, a team of guys came to the house and scoured the premises clean - nails, screws, staples, bits of roof tile, wood, and metal shavings. Anything the workers dropped or threw down got picked up that same day, then leaf blowers were used to tidy any sawdust My yard ended up cleaner than when they started. Bonus! At the end of the job, Evan reviewed the estimate originally given, and calculated that the job cost less than they estimated, which they promptly credited to my account, plus they included a $1000 credit due to my initial contact with them at the Home Show. My new roof makes my house quieter, safer, more insulated and much better looking than the old shake roof I had before. I am confident BSW was the best choice for my new roof.

tl;dr: 10/10 would recommend and use them again for any roofing job..or... I might even stand on a street corner... ....dressed in a wild outfit... swinging a BSW Roofing sign Now the long and serious part. Keep in mind that everyone's experience will vary just like everything else in life. You can take this for face value or you can scoff and call me a stupid plebe (I really don't care). The wait time from "yes let's do this" to the start of the job was about 1.5 months. When you're the best business in town you're in high demand and I am GLAD I waited. It looks SEXY. I know what you're thinking, "It's a roof! A ROOF CAN'T BE SEXY!" Trust me ladies and gents, a roof can definitely look sexy if it's done right and matches the house trim in which this case it does. Long story short, the only "snag" I had was that I did not find a coupon for the free solar attic fan on Angie's List whether it was in IE or Chrome, but everything else from start to finish went smooth. First I called the company and then I was told to send the company a message on AL. It was taken care of and so was I. Done. Plain and simple. Took maybe 10 minutes out of my life to resolve over the course of a weekend ======================================== Me 10/9/2015 I called BSW today to see if the solar powered attic fan was on the proposal. It wasn't. I was then told that I could print out a coupon on Angie's List. I don't see this coupon. Have a great rest of the weekend ======================================== During the installation I reminded my roommate to remind the workers to install it. They said it wasn't in their notes and that they would have to contact their boss - I had also sent my roommate a screenshot of the messages which is what I copied and pasted above. It was installed. It took from 11/17 to 11/23 to complete. I'm not complaining, but I wasn't ever given a time frame from start to finish - maybe have an ESTIMATED start date and finish date? I know (from working in retail) that people get bent out of shape from estimates and think it's written in stone, but people like me who know what "estimates" or "quotes" mean would have a better understanding or expectation. Recommendation: I will preface this by saying I wasn?t part of the initial sit-down or quote process so I might have missed out on a bit. Each client is going to be paying upwards of $10,000 to $40,000+. I feel that this should include an outline of what each day is going to consist of and how long it?s estimated to take (barring any inclement weather). After all is said and done a final draft of what exactly was done each day would be great. Don?t get me wrong. The job was wonderful, but I was not around to see any of it except on Saturday. Here's a very basic example of what a final draft could look like. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I DO NOT KNOW THE ORDER IN WHICH THESE HAPPEN NOR SHOULD THIS BE AN ACTUAL EXAMPLE. ================================================== 11/17/2015: Crew A arrived on-site and began work at 0800. Old roof removed and Crew B discarded per company policy. Crew C applied new insulation and plywood. City Inspector came by and gave their stamp of approval. Also installed smoke/CO detectors. A final check was performed by the supervisor to make sure the structure was not compromised and is ready for the next phase. Crew B did a final sweep for any nails, screws, and any other debris before leaving the work site. All crews left at 1800. (If needed) Resident was not home. Placed a call and explained what was performed today and what should be performed tomorrow barring any inclement weather. 11/18/2015: Crew C arrived on-site and began work at 0745. New shingles laid down on the North and West facing roof. Three new upper vents installed on the North facing roof and sprayed to match shingles. A final check was performed by the supervisor to make sure the work was performed properly and to company standards. Home is ready for the next phase. Crew B did a final sweep for any nails, screws, and any other debris before leaving the work site. All crews left at 1745. (If needed) Resident was not home. Supervisor placed a call and explained what was performed today and what should be performed tomorrow barring any inclement weather. 11/19/2015: Crew A arrived on-site and began work at 0830, but they found dry rotted wood in the eaves and a compromised load-bearing beam. After receiving a quote for additional work, call was placed to the resident who approved. Dry rot wood and compromised beams replaced ? resident to paint new wood if they want it to match existing paint scheme. Due to the additional work, only the East facing roof was able to be shingled with one lower vent installed which was sprayed to match shingles. A final check was performed by the supervisor to make sure the work was performed properly and to company standards. Home is ready for the next phase. Crew B did a final sweep for any nails, screws, and any other debris before leaving the work site. All crews left at 1800. (If needed) Resident was not home. Supervisor placed a call and explained what was performed today and what should be performed tomorrow barring any inclement weather. 11/20/2015: Crew A arrived on-site and began work at 0700. The West facing roof has been shingled and 3 upper vents installed along with solar attic fan. A final check was performed by the supervisor to make sure the work was performed properly and to company standards. Home is ready. Crew B did a final sweep for any nails, screws, and any other debris before leaving the work site. All crews left at 1645. (If needed) Resident was not home. Supervisor placed a call and explained what was performed today and what should be performed tomorrow barring any inclement weather. List of materials available upon request - may take up to 7-10 business days depending on when request was received. ================================================== Again, that is a very rough idea of a final draft of work that was performed and should be provided to the resident. My roommate did say that they were communicative and professional, but I do not know any of this since I wasn't here. Three years, five years, or even ten years from now I would like to be able to reference/humble brag about everything that took place and why I chose BSW Roofing.

This job was a perfect experience from start to finish. We shopped around for solar systems and decided we would go with BSW because of the pricing and the guarantee that there would be no damage to our new roof during the process. BSW met with us and offered us the a larger system above everyone else at a lower cost right out of the gate. It was a no brainer to go with their deal. They sent an electrician out and he did an amazing job upgrading or electrical panel and he also fixed some crossed wires in the house at no charge. Our system is great. We are using an Emphase system with online monitoring and everything is running great. This is the best deal in town and in 15 years we will own our system purchased through BSW using the HERO program. Michelle and Jerrry are great they will take care of everything. We were fully installed in about a month after we signed the dotted line. Thanks BSW!!!

The first time I called for a quote, the lady who answered told me that Victor would contact me. We scheduled a day and time and he didn't show for the appointment. Approx 1 month later I called again and I told the person that I had called that I was supposed to meet with someone but they didn't show up. They pulled the records and said someone would contact me asap. I received a call within 1 hour from Victor and set up time. Unfortunately I could only meet during my lunch hour so we didn't have a lot of time. Victor emailed me with my estimate and I was able to qualify for the HERO program to pay for my roof. We visited the showroom and signed papers. I was told that Ron would be calling me to schedule a date but he didn't call me. I ended up calling Ron a few days later to schedule a date, which was 6-8 weeks out. When I met with BSW at signing, I explained that I would be having my water pipes in the attic replaced once the shake roof was removed and coordinated the job with the plumbers. I wish I would have received a check list of what BSW was going to do prior to the scheduled day. I purchased plastic and covered my garage by myself, not knowing this was part of their prep in doing the job. When they showed up to on Thursday morning, imagine their surprise when they opened my garage and saw that it was already done for them! I had taken time off from work for this project and still had several questions about the process and asked when Victor would be arriving? Imagine my surprise when I was unable to communicate with the workers and get any of my questions answered! Later, I received a call from Ron, telling me that Victor would not be available until Monday. The re-pipe took all of Friday to complete. BSW showed up Saturday to install the decking of the roof. On Monday they began putting on the HD Shingles. Victor stopped by and we discussed a couple of concerns and where I wanted the new solar attic fan placed. Once the roof was completed and everyone left, I noticed that part of the shingles were a different shade of color. The roofers had somehow got a different Lot Number of shingles and it didn't match. I called Victor and he came out and he agreed. His crew had to come back and remove the mismatched shingle and replaced them with the same Lot Number to match, which I really appreciated. Overall things worked out but it wasn't the smoothest project that's for sure. Thank you Victor for making things right! My tip: Provide your customers with a list of what to expect prior to the job and details or a timeline of what happens next so they know what to expect. This type of re-roof is a very messy project. Although I covered the inside of my garage, I'm still having to clean up and picking up old roofing, nails, wood pieces, and vacuuming dirt, dust etc... Same with the out side of the house and yard.

This Company did a excellent job. They showed up on time every day and worked until they had that days part of the job done. First they removed the existing roof. The crew came with a huge truck to haul away the old roofing which they backed up to my house after laying down plywood so that they would not leave tracks in my yard. The crew was very efficient and had removed all of the existing roof down to the slats by the end of the day. They also cleaned up all of the trash including running a large magnet around the house to pick up any stray nails. The next day they showed up with 2 huge trucks one with all of the materials for the job on it. The second truck was specialize the do attic insulation. Again they put down plywood to protect my lawn when they backed the truck up to my house to unload the supplies. By the end of the day my attic was fully insulated and the roof was sheathed with OSB, again they cleaned up before they left. I need to stop here and explain about insulating my attic. I had several insulation companies turn down insulating my attic space because of the way my house is constructed but BSW said no problem they would do the attic insulation by adding it through the roof joists before they put on the OSB sheathing. They did a excellent job, even getting into spaces that were closed off to the rest of the attic. Day three and four they put the shingles on the roof. They let me change the color of the shingles at the last minute when I realized we had chosen the wrong color. They replaced all of the flashing on the roof and installed low profile roof vents. Here again the professionalism of the company shows, the vents were installed in such away that they do not show from the street, and all of the existing vents were colored so they blend into the roof. They also installed a solar powered vent fan on the roof for free, be sure to get the coupon here on their site. This is a highly professional company they have the equipment to do the job, and their people know exactly what they are doing. They have crews to remove the roof, to sheath the roof, to put on the shingles and a crew to clean up. Their project manager showed up every day to check on the job, and to make sure I was happy with the way things were going. He even brought the crew cold sodas. I am very happy with the job that BSW did and I should be, they put the original roof on my house 30 years ago and I fully expect this one to last as long.

There was a broken tile and when we discovered it we were not sure how long it had been like that. Evan replaced it in a minute and was on down the road and the only thing he charged was a smile!!! I have NEVER had a service company not charge at least a service call. I have already shared this with 2 friends and plan to let any of my own customers know BSW is the company to call

. A wonderful experience with a difficult job!! Our estimator/project manager was Guillermo Murillo & is primarily responsible both for our selecting BSW to do the work & for assuring that all went smoothly during the process. We commend the crews who each seemed to have a specific piece/ specialty of the overall project. Each person knew exactly what to do & worked as a team. We are extremely satisfied with the new roof & it looks beautiful. But the difference it made in the temperature & sound was amazing & rather surprising.

Our experience with BSW was exceptional. They were prompt in returning phone calls and scheduling our estimate. Evan provided a very professional presentation and gave us several product options with various price points. After this meeting, he was readily available to answer questions, and was our point person throughout the process. We had an official proposal the next day. We had our new roof in about a month, which was far sooner than we expected. Every employee of BSW that we had contact with, from the office staff to the tear off crew to the roofers and clean up staff were polite, courteous and concerned about our job. The crews showed up when they said they would, and were there promptly every morning until the job was done. We didn't have any down days that I have seen with other companies doing roofs in our area. The crews seemed to work non-stop even in blazing heat but were still courteous at the end of a long day. I was very impressed with how hardworking they all were. This is a dirty, dusty and loud process, and there is no avoiding that, but the crew took extra time to cover and drape all of our garage interior and cleaned up at the end of each day. They also did a very thorough final cleanup at the end of the job. We are very pleased with the work performed and our roof looks great. We immediately noted a reduction in the operation of our AC units as a result of the increased insulation and the addition of the roof sheeting. Hopefully our PGE will decrease as a result. We have been impressed with BSW throughout this process, and would recommend them without hesitation, and we would also recommend our estimator/project manager Evan Juline.

Evan was my first contact with BSW Roofing and he made a wonderful impression. He was very professional and courteous. The company did an amazing job of replacing my roof. All workers seemed very professional and cleaned up after each section of the job. They all seem very hard working and friendly. The process was done in a timely manner. My new roof is beautiful and I'm sure will be energy efficient. I'm all set for the rain season if it ever comes. I would highly recommend BSW Roofing.

Went very well. They arrived at the time they told us each day. All crews were very professional and courteous. If we had questions they were able to answer them. Also, Jerry and Ron were available if we had a question and they checked on the progress. The company was willing to work with our air conditioners to allow them to replace our air-conditioning ducts once the old roof was removed. We were appreciative of that coordination between the two companies. Workplace was cleaned everyday and the roof looks great.

BSW roofing took great care in listening to our needs and desires when it came to re-roofing our existing home. Their employees were friendly, patient, prompt and professional. All my concerns were throughly answered by their knowledgable staff. They made sure that the job site was picked up daily and safe for our family and pet. The site manager was quick to address any concerns I had, always finding an appropriate and reasonable solution. I was very pleased BSW roofing.

I had a leak in my roof. Turns out, some of the penetrations on my roof were installed incorrectly, and water has just been accumulating underneath my tiles. The problem was noticeably spreading along the slant of my roof. I called BSW out and was able to get a quote in a matter of hours. Ron was professional and very patient. He even provided me with a quote for a solar installation. They are very competitive for their Solar prices. Unfortunately, things didn't pan out for me (finances) and I only went with a roof repair. They promptly fixed my roof (they managed to squeeze in the repair just before an unexpectedly heavy summer rain). Highly recommended for roof repairs.

BSW provided more than adequate staffing to get the job done and stayed with the project from start to finish daily. I was in awe; BSW utilized a remarkable number of staff at the tear down and at each phase of the project to get the job done. The entire project from start to finish came in less than four days with weather temperatures soaring to 100+ degrees. All employees during the project from the project manager to the installers to the general labors and clean-up crews handled themselves professionally and all were friendly, courteous, attentive and organized. The work crews were like busy bee?s, flying around doing their specific job. Each man had a specific job to do and they knew what their job was and that job was done. BSW replaced my 25 year old masonry tile, roof, a major job that included tile tear off, new sheeting, underlayment , tile, sealing and painting pipes and vents and Title 24 upgrades including R-38 insulation, and vents. Roofing debris was cleaned up daily. The project manager was always helpful; answering every question I asked and was very attentive in the supervision of the project and staff. It was very impressive of the project walk-throughs he conducted during the construction and the end walk-through taking care of a few ending minor details. My roof had additional problems that were not a part of the re-roofing proposal, primarily because the old masonry tile hid the problems. One portion of my roof eaves had no underlayments or any other protection other than the tile and rotted out the wood beneath. Additionally at my rear patio, the tile also hid the upper fascia board that was rotten and was necessary to replace the entire row of the 2? X 10? fascia. In the final analysis this extra work came in at an additional $ 1,280, time labor and material, for a top professional job that was more reasonable than I expected. They advise you up front of any additional costs, charging no more or less at the completion, no surprises. They state that they provide a 10 year guarantee on their workmanship in addition to the Manufacture warranty. In my opinion they perform high end work at a reasonable cost using quality materials.

The work went well. Any minor issues were resolved to our satisfaction by either Ron, Rony or David. We would recommend BSW for any ones roofing needs.

Love the new roof. Really clean and sharp looking. This company was good to work with. Explained everything to us. A little mixup on start date but once made aware of the problem it was quickly resolved. Arrived on time, even early. Cleaned up each day like they had never been there. I've even recommended them to a friend. Good job BSW!

The entire process went well from the initial presentation to the finished roof. I have had many contractors doing various work in the past but I have to say BSW is by far the most professional, informative and friendly I've ever dealt with.

A few months ago we decided that our shake roof that had served us so well needed to be replaced. We visited several companies but BSW Roofing impressed us and stood alone as the company for us. Jerry Ennis, Project Manager, explained every detail to us. He visited our home several times and impressed us on each visit. When the work began we were amazed at the team concept. Each step in the process-- removing the old roof, applying radiant board, framing and laying the tile-- brought a new team and each was professional, hard-working, and thorough. Many neighbors and strangers stopped by and remarked on the great and efficient job they were doing. We made a wise choice and are grateful for Jerry, David Boyd, and all the workers.
