The tech was here early and got right to evaluating the washing machine. As soon as he opened the door, and spun the basket, he knew what was wrong and told me. He then pulled the machine out to get to the back of it, and confirmed what parts would be needed to fix it, if I chose to do so. He explained everything to me - what parts were needed and why, and then a cost breakdown of those parts. He even got a confirmation of what was in-warranty and what was not so we were both sure of any covered costs. As it turned out, the cost of replacement parts, and the labor, cost more than this expensive Maytag was purchased for! The tech and I discussed options and he even offered suggestions as to what makes would be a good replacement. He even asked how much I washed and what my needs were in a washing machine before he commented on how much of a machine I really needed - helping me to get a machine that suited my washing needs and budget - instead of getting something that was more than I needed and much more costly. I appreciated how he took the time to fully explain my options and guide me into a machine choice that best worked for my needs. The tech was very pleasant and easy to talk with and the company was very prompt when they said they would call with a confirmed appointment time.
Description of Work: Evaluated the cost of repair of a washing machine. The maunfacturer referred this company to me as they are factory trained to know what is wrong and what it takes to fix the problem.

Description of Work: he was sent by maytag to service a new dryer bought at home depot that did not heat and the timer was not moving. he looked at dryer superficially and checked the amperage of electric outlet. went outside to check breaker and told me I needed an electrician to replace the breaker that it was weak. I had an electrician out and he spent 1 hour checking everything and told me I did not need a new breaker,I needed the dryer fixed as all electrical was fine. I called appliance repair to return and told the same tech what electrician said and tech said it is not the dryer it is the breaker but I'll order a heating ? and a timer. he didn't look at anything. After thinking awhile I returned the dryer to home depot and purchased a new dryer - different brand elsewhere plugged it in and it has working perfectly

Description of Work: I was scheduled by the company i bought my refrigerator drawers from to have a technician from appliance repair specialist come out on sat sept 29 between 9 and 11 to repair a control panel on the refrigerator drawer. the initial call i received from the company to confirm the appointment was the beginning of the worst professionalism experience i have ever had with a company. the initial phone call started with an interrogation as to the purchase date of my unit as it had not been a year since i purchased my refrigerator drawers and this service call was to be under warranty. i explained i have my receipt and they confirmed my service appt. the technician named Irvin called at 1020 saying he would be at my home in 20 min. i called this number back and left a message since he did not answer that if he had any difficulty finding the house to please call me. he never called and never showed. I called several times over a half hour period when he finally answered he was extremely rude and said he was at my house and talked to a man and that he had already moved on to the next job out of my town. he said that this was his personal cell phone and to never call him again. when i called the company to report the lack of communication the rudeness and lack of effort the woman representative was also beyond unprofessional and defended the lies this technician told her. he never came to my house and no one from this company contacted me. I had to contact them. this company is shady or has no training for employees with regards to customer service from the technicians to the receptionist/ dispatcher. I was told within seconds of our conversation to find another company and to not call them again. this was the first call into the service center since i had only contacted the technician prior to this phone call. Pretty unbelievable that i am the first or the last to have been treated so unprofessional. I have always been happy with Mr. Appliance (another company in my area) and will be calling them from now on. These technicians are the heart and soul of this company and one would think that with the economy everyone would be thankful to have a job. It is unfortunate that this company fails to understand that the customer is what keeps this company afloat. I would never recommend Appliance repair specialist to anyone and they wasted two and a half hours of my time. I now have to reschedule with another company and they have lost my business forever.

I was told they would arrive between 12:00 and 4:00pm to repair my dishwasher. They never showed up. When I called the main number, no answer. When I called the alternate number I spoke with a rude person who did not seem to know anything. When I told him I would contact someone else he said (rudely), "Good luck."
Description of Work: No work performed - they never showed up.
