Description of Work: had trouble with electrical. I am not sure but I don't think he was licensed. we had to get another electrician and after much searching he |found a hot ground wire. Cost 500. The contractors made him pay that. |HOWEVER THE KITCHEN IS BEAUTIFUL& EVERY THING IS HIGH QUALIY IDOLOVEIT

 + -1 moreHe arrived on the agreed day (again right on time) with two men, who turned out to be excellent, neat and very competent workers. John walked the supervisor through the house explaining what was needed to fix the problems. They removed each door, one at a time, took it outside by their truck and shaved off the necessary wood to eliminate the binding of the doors. Matching stain was applied to the area of the front door, visible when opening the door. All scrap was neatly removed and in two hours they were done. Both men were a pleasure to have in the home.
Description of Work: Four doors (three upstairs and the front door) were not closing properly. I suspect the drought had caused the foundation to settle or shift slightly. A crack in the wall near one of the doors certainly seemed to confirm that. John came soon after I had called. He surveyed the situation and later called with an estimate of his work. We accepted, although it seemed expensive for four doors. Nevertheless, we were impressed with him right from the start.

 + 0 moreWhen I built my house in 2004-2005 I decided to go with Timbersmith because my first choice cabinet shop, Morro Bay Cabinets, was busy 12 weeks out. I wanted the cabinets done promptly so I decided to go with the company that could get them done quickly. Unfortunately, I compromised quality in the process. Within a year the cabinets were coming apart. The drawer fronts were pulling away from the drawers. Additionally, being that it was my first time designing a custom home I hadn't thought through the kitchen design well. It wasn't until I moved in that I found out the opening for the refrigerator was too small for the newer models and I ended up having to pay a lot of extra money for a smaller refrigerator that would fit the opening. It would have been nice if the cabinet shop would had taken notice and discussed some of these issue with me from the beginning. I also found the owner of the cabinet shop difficult to work with and unwilling to stand behind his work. Not only was he rude and abrasive, he all but walked away from the job. He did not stay within the price quote and to my dismay, the hidden costs increased the final price to more than the original competitive bids.

 + 5 moreI was completely satisfied each time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their work. The price is higher than some others but you get your money's worth and peace of mind to boot.
Description of Work: I've actually used this business more than once over a period of years. My first project was removal and design and building of a staircase railing. They did a beautiful job and I received many compliments about the design. Several years later in another home I also had a garage walled in and a french door and windows installed.All work done well and overseen by the owner. The first job was done in Paso Robles, the second in Los Osos.

 + 0 moreIt turned out beautiful. It was a total remodel and we took everything out and redid it. It was very easy and they were always on time. It went very smoothly. I would think that the price was high anyway. They weren't the cheapest and neither were they the most expensive.
Description of Work: We remodeled our kitchen and Timbersmith put in all custom cabinets and not the pre-built ones.

 + -1 moreOverall it went fine. I would recommend John's company. He is overseeing his workers more closely these days.
Description of Work: John's company has done quite a bit of work in our home. His company renovated a bathroom, kitchen and sunpoarch. We have been satisfied with the work overall, but there were a few problems. The biggest was that the cabinet man hung the kitchen cabinets 1 inch incorrectly. This could not be corrected as the stone installer installed the granite that same day, while we were @ work. So John needs to have someone supervising his workers more closely. But this was 9 yrs ago and when I called him recently to do some touch up work on the cabinets, he called me the next day, came out to the house within a week and did an excellent job on the routine maintenance on the cabinets. We have moved and I wish I could get John to come here, Oregon, to do some maintenance on my cabinets here!
