Steffenauer Painting

Mr. Steffenauer was called to come and give a bid the day before, he was late. Made arrangements to meet again the next day and he was late but said he had a "good excuse", we did not care at that point because we were trying to find someone that was going to give us a cheaper bid for work. We had seen two other contractor's but bids were expensive for painting of master bedroom and small construction job. He bid one price that we agreed on ($800) and that he was to start at 9AM the next morning. We, my 67 yr old mother and I had done ALL the prep work when he called and said that he thought that $1250 was what he was needing to charge instead of the $800 orginally agreed upon. We did not understand how he could spend almost an hour and not have come to the $1250 price BEFORE he left. Needless to say that my Mother was very upset since we were counting on Gary to do the work and it was now almost 6PM. We made a call and had another contractor come out that night and give a bid. They are here now working and my mother and myself are VERY HAPPY that we did not use Steffenauer Painting.
