PATIO OUTLET/DAY CONSTRUCTION

The guy who runs the company is one of the most unreliable and unprofessional person I have met in my life. When we gave him the cheque, we never saw him again. One of the guys he hired has only been on the job for like 6 weeks or so. He literally screwed up the whole job. It rained and the room got flooded. The ceiling was done incorrectly. But we got a new crew. The new guys were outstanding, their names were Josh & Carlos. They stayed with the project even when it rained. They took care of all the problems like the leaks. They were very nice and professional people. I would never ever recommend Home Star to anybody.

The owner Dave did not return my calls for days. His crew was late starting the project which put the whole landscape job a week behind schedule. Then Dave did not return my calls or the call from the landscaper when it was time to finish the patio cover. Again caused another week delay in completing the project. I paid in full when the job was complete and asked for a copy of the permit. I was told it would be mailed to me. I got an invoice in the mail showing a balance due of $3060! That is the amount I paid on completion - the check has already been cashed. I know it will be days before I am able to speak to Dave about this. Still no copy of the plans and permit that according to the invoice I paid $1400 for. The work itself is quite satisfactory - it is Dave that I will not recommend or work with again.

It appears they are out of business so we are out of a warranty.
