+ -1 moreJeff was the only one I contacted who could come help the week I was going to be in town, so I really appreciated that. He showed up on time, the work looked good when he was finished and the cost was reasonable. I was a little uneasy that he didn't want to caulk around the window and door framing. He said because the siding is stucco that it would be a messy caulk line. I'm surprised that he didn't think of alternate ways of doing this with so many years of experience. (I did, but too late) Anyway, when I expressed my concern he said it doesn't rain here! Only 1 1/2 years later some of the cedar fencing is splitting, and he blames that on not being able to purchase quality wood these days. (He wouldn't warranty his work) The biggest reason by far that I won't hire Jeff again is his lack of communication skills. When I ask him a question he is immediately defensive, condescending, rude and communication is shut down. For me effective communication is essential and this is the primary factor for the poor grade.

Description of Work: I called Jeff to find out if he could assemble an armoire. I was just asking him about scheduling, and he was very rude, cursed and and abruptly hung up on me. I felt like I had woken him from a hangover up at 11:30am. I have no idea why he was so rude, totally shocked. Completely unprofessional.

Description of Work: Replaced a hollow core door exit door to my downstairs garage. Already had the door on hand from Habitat ReStore, Called Jeff, he answered right away, showed up in a few hours and finished the job on budget and as agreed. (It's not a perfect solution, but we don't use the garage as a living space, rather more of a shed.) I'll definitely recommend Jeff and will call him again for our next project.

Description of Work: We have a house built in 1961, with a bathroom that was somewhat remodeled in the late 1980s. We wanted new linoleum flooring, baseboard trim, new paint, wallpaper torn out and new wallpaper hung. We also wanted replacement of medicine cabinet and vanity lighting. Jeff gave us the best estimate of the handymen we talked to. He did the work promptly and very professionally. It did come out costing more than the estimate, but he kept me apprised of each additional fee - mostly snags he ran into because of old electrical outlets and plumbing fixtures. It still came out lower than the other guys. He was finished in three days and it looks beautiful. We will definitely call him again.

+ -1 moreWe made an appointment for an estimate and he was promptly on time (very important for me- as I cannot stand when contractors are late for their appointments) He came out on a Saturday gave me an estimate I told him I needed the gate done by Thursday. He said no problem. He had the gate in by Tuesday first thing in the morning. He had it pre built and pre painted (white) literally just came in and hung it. No drama-it worked and fit perfect. This was my first time working with him but will continue to call him for handyman services. The night after our initial meeting I sent him an email to recap what we had agreed on and he promptly responded to my email with a phone call the next day. Great service I would recommend to others. What an experience with a handyman should be!
Description of Work: Jeff replaced the wooden backyard fence on our home. Our previous one was falling apart due to dry rot. He built us a brand new wooden gate from raw materials and painted it white.
