Things went very good over the entire project. We don't have any complaints. Communication is great at every step of the way. Every single employee of theirs was clean, courteous, and respectful of our property. It was always the same workers, which is nice knowing who is coming and going from your property. The whole crew is trustworthy and worked hard. They showed up when they said they would and that goes a long way with us! The project took a few months to complete so we really got a good view of Precision Built and their quality work. We would/will definitely hire Precision Built in the future.
Description of Work: We had a very large project that involved two Ag storage buildings to be built. It was a very large project that included: framing, roofing, electrical, finish work, siding and organizing any subcontractors brought in to do things like pouring the concrete foundations.

We were very happy with Jason and the team. The communication was a bit slow while we were still deciding if we'd work with him but once he started on the project he was always easy to reach. The initial phase of the project to tear down the wall and put up the new one was done very quickly by Jason and his crew of 2 (seems like he always works with the same crew from what I could tell). Once his painter, floor guy and drywall subs came in, he checked in daily and communication was easy. The sub contractors were good quality people too. We ran into some unexpected design choices after the old wall came down and Jason helped us figure it out and come up with a solution we liked. He was also flexible in accommodating our schedules when it looked like the change would take some extra days. At one point he said that he ultimately just cared that we were happy with whatever work was done. I don't think Jason's the cheapest option but we figure you get what you pay for and we were very happy with the work, the communication and the workers we had in our house. We also feel that we got his undivided attention for the duration of the project and that was a big part of making us happy. We're already booking Jason and his team for more projects at our house.
Description of Work: - Removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room - Replaced a regular door with a 5ft slider - Installed wall sconces

We were extremely happy with the work Jason did on our house. He was the epitome of professionalism--returned calls, showed up when he said he would (yes, it's true!), didn't go over his initial bid, and overall did a great job in a short amount of time. We highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Jason & his crew painted, scraped popcorn ceilings & removed wall paneling & wall paper. They also remodeled two bathrooms (tiled, installed shower, two vanities, vents, mirrors, lighting fixtures). Installed Laminate flooring throughout the house. They also emptied out an attic full of junk.

It went well. Nothing negative to report, and Dave was his usual congenial self. :)
Description of Work: We needed a water sofener installed, but were troubled by the fact that there was no available drain or power outlet to install it with. So, the basic "cheap install" price from the big-box store wouldn't have applied to us in any way. Jason sent Dave to open up the fire wall to get to the drain used by the washer, on the other side of the wall. He installed an additional drain for the softener and also a new outlet, all to code. It cost more than usual because, upon opening up the fire wall, Dave found two illegal electrical wiring splices from a previous owner's handiwork. These both had to be rewired into a junction box for safety, which took an extra 4 hours due to the location.

Jason's team did a great job. They were punctual, professional, considerate and very communicative. We checked in all throughout the job to discuss details and options. They pointed out some other issues they found around my property and educated me a bit on how to do some preventative maintenance. They didn't cut an corners and demonstrated a clear desire to be craftsman rather than just workers. I enjoyed having Jason and his crew around as they maintained a positive and efficient work environment. The work was done on time and on budget, which was a trick because the siding was a mess.
Description of Work: Jason's team replaced some old siding in various places around my home. Weather and wear & tear had taken their toll.

They didn't do a bad job, but Jason did not do the work. I thought I was paying Jason to come and do the work, but essentially I was paying two people to do a one person job. Jason just sat back and made sure the other guy did not fall off the ladder. Jason was pretty much just a babysitter.
Description of Work: I hired Jason to put up plywood and create a cap for the bottom of my fireplace.

Response from Precision Built Construction
Hello [member name removed] I'm sorry to here that you were not completely satisfied with the work done. However to respond to your message, I wasn't just holding the ladder for my employee. You were inside the house all day so I don't know how you came up with that assumption. Installing 4 foot by 8 foot sheets of siding and trim 30 feet up takes two people to do. There was a couple of times when I was holding the ladder for a very short time so that my employee was safe to perform the work. It's very important to me to keep my employees safe as well as to keep my clients happy. I wish you would reconsider your Angie's list review and grade. Thank you Jason Precision built const

Everything went extremely well and turned out great! Jason Lindgren and Precision Built Construction are consummate professionals. Jason loves to say "I'm only here to make you happy". He did everything he could to clue is into what was going on, and make us feel comfortable. I'm in the trades, but I never work with wood or tile, so I had tons of questions. I easily called Jason 10 times a day while the work was being performed (he says no, but I'm sure I drove him nuts). He never got frustrated with me, just took all of my questioning in stride. Seriously, he built us a show quality shower in 1 week. Everybody is amazed at how modern and nice it looks. Its hard to imagine our work having gone any smoother. Its all thanks to Jason and Precision Built Construction. He gave a fast date to start. He started when he said he was. He was on time everyday. He covered up our belongings so nothing was dirtied, and took out all the construction trash daily. He was very easy to reach and access. He would take phone calls late at night, and was reachable by text all the time! Heck, we couldn't get people to even call us back for estimates. This guy was always available! Bottom line is we think Jason Lindgren and Precision Built Construction are top notch. We are having more work done soon, and won't hesitate to call them back. We would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs construction work performed, expects fine work to be installed, and likes to get a good value. Thank you Jason and Precision Built Construction. You guys are awesome!
Description of Work: We purchased our home in March of 2012. While changing out my old galvanized waste lines under my house, we came to find out that our master bathroom shower had been/was leaking. I had a 6'x6' area of wood under my house that was soaked, not to mention the even larger mud pit. We stopped using the bathroom immediately, called our real estate agent, our home warranty people, and our home insurance company. We knew the home seller/had completely remodeled the master bathroom and shower himself. When they built the shower, they did not build the membrane into the fiber-glass pan correctly, nor did they set the drain properly. The warranty and insurance both turned us down, as these items are considered latent defects. While this was going on, the wood under our bathroom floor was drying out. Because of the wood drying out, our tile floor started shifting. Now we were going to have to redo the floors too! We also needed whomever was going to do the work to document the tear out, and take pictures for us of the faulty shower where the water was leaking through, because we were planning on suing the flipper. Now its time to locate a general contractor. Just so you know, I'm in the trades too. I'm a union electrician, 15 years now. I don't know a SINGLE general contractor! It was really tough finding one. We looked online, we hit yelp, we asked friends. Nothing, or at least nothing good. The only decent ones were terribly expensive (you would think we were building a gold palace!), or were several months out. My wife came home and said she hit up Angie's list. She called a gentleman named Jason Lindgren owner of Precision Built Construction. Jason came out and we told him what we needed. We needed the shower torn out and documented. We also need the bathroom floor torn out which meant pulling out our toilet and vanity. Jason was also going to inspect for any wood rot, black mold, and/or termites. He was to replace all the wood

The bathroom is beautiful and is the "nicest" room in our house now. Jason was very easy to work with, professional and we will definitely hire him back. We had an issue with the floor tile we used such that all suppliers in the Bay area ran out at the same time. This set our completion time back almost 2 months. Through it all, Jason was very patient and when the tile came in they installed it very quickly and wrapped up the bathroom. For our bedroom remodel, our opinion and overall appreciation for Jason's work remains the same. Jason is always very timely, professional and the quality always exceeds our expectations. He is very good about letting us know about any issues he encounters and explains how we can fix it, the costs, etc. He is straightforward and honest. This is the second project that we have used Jason on and we will continue to use his services for our future projects.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of main bathroom. We did the demo down to the studs and floor boards, but Jason and his teams did all of the work to put it all back in. This included all new drywall, windows, tile work, plumbing, electrical, etc. We also hired Jason to do a second job for us. A remodel of our former master bedroom that we were converting to a shared kids bedroom. This included new windows (including framing), new flooring, taking out an exterior door, and wall furnace.

Things went very well from the initial meet and greet to the completion of the project. They are open and receptive to different ideas. They give valuable insight on projects that help save time and money. Their ideas for tackling a project are always in the best interest of your property, not their wallet! They communicate very well, which is hard to find with contractors. They show up whenthey say they will and work fast. Overall if you are looking for a great contractor, whatever your needs call Precision Built. We are so happy with the work we have hired them to build a couple of AG storage buildings on our property/farm.
Description of Work: Precision Built construction is great at every step involved in the remodel experience. Precision Built was our third attempt at hiring a general contractor to work on the complete renovation of our newly purchased foreclosure property. Our TERRIBLE FRUSTRATION with the previous two hired (and later fired) contractors led us to join angies list. Wow, are we glad we made that decision! That's where we found Jason (owner of Precision Built). We are going to live in the home for a long time, so we have high expectations. Precision Built met and exceeded our expectations! We are almost completely finished with the remodel thanks to them. As far as the work that was done, where do I start. We completely gutted the guest bathroom and Jason handled every aspect of that and it is perfect. we completely remodeled the kitchen and again Jason and his crew did great on that room too. They did the window sills, trim, and casings that turned out great. They did the baseboard, crown molding, and trim. They completely changed/rebuilt our staircase and WOW what a difference. They installed our bamboo flooring and it looks amazing! Basicly, if there was something that needed done they were able to take care of it and do a great job! They literally have worked on every room in the house. If Precision Built doesn't directly do the work (ie. Tile install or paint) the subs that they work with are of the same quality and ability as they are. They directly handled just about every aspect though. They directly did electrical, carpentry, flooring, finish carpentry, plumbing, and probably some stuff I am forgetting. MY FAVORITE thing has to be the option to hire them hourly or have them bid jobs as a whole. The hourly rate is such a valuable option, we had a real can of worms here so the hourly option was the way to go for us. But the "bid by job" option was nice to have. Their rates are fair and worth every penny.

Had to have our deck redone because the old one was coming apart. Jason made an estimate, and did an excellent job with the new deck. Worked with us on modifications that came up during the project, and found some problems along the way. Made reasonable suggestions at a fair price to resolve the issues. Completed the job in a reasonably timely manner. Also contracted him to repair our balcony, for which he found some problems that caused it to be unsafe. Completed this project, and also contracted to a painter to complete touch up work required as a result of construction. I have used Jason several times in the past for various projects, including kitchen repairs, and found his work to be of high quality, reasonably priced, and completed in the timeframe he promised, weather permitting. I would not hesitate to use him again.

Overall our experience with this contractor was not very good. We hired Precision Construction to install a over-stove ventilation hood, in place of where we previously had a microwave oven/vent combo. We had an initial estimate of $350-$400, but ended up spending closer to $800. He was thorough and timely with is work, but we are not satisfied with the quality of the repairs he did to our tile work and wood cabinets. Also, when he had difficulty with the electrical hook up, he had to consult with a friend of his, and they blamed the difficulty on our house wiring. After the job was completed, it just looks "okay", and we'll probably have the tile work redone by someone else. We wouldn't recommend this contractor for anything complex or finishing, requiring good cosmetic appearance, but he would probably be good for underlying structure or basic repair. We give Precision Construction a "C", based on our experience that the work was just "not bad", and not as good as we expected.

Jason was easy to talk to and made us feel he would do a great job. However as each day progressed, the quality of the work deteriorated. He painted 13 doors, 5 of the 13 doors had bubbles and or started peeling, he said that would be easy to fix, and to date he has not returned to fix the doors. We also told him of several other problems. He said just make a list a he would fix it. We made the list and never heard from Jason again. He was also very messy. He did not put down a cover on our new carpet before applying texturing to the walls, which as you could guess ended up with texture material stuck all over the to the rug.
Description of Work: Remove and install 352 ft of base board Remove and install casing around 14 doors 7of them only one side Paint, caulk and fill nail holes on all newly installed base board and casing Remove 13 doors and all hardware (hinges, handles and strike plates) paint and reinstall Patch walls in 4 areas Install new sill at front window Bid includes all materials, labor and removal of debris Estimated time 4-5 days Total bid price $3,428

Overall, Jason did a good job. He ran into quite a few obstacles, but was able to get everything done with an additional 30 minute charge. However, he took a component of one of our new faucets which we needed to be able to return it, and left his long level here at our house. He was a no-show a few times to do an exchange, but we finally managed to get square.

Excellent experience. I had purchased an Angies List Big Deal that entitled me to a certain number of hours of work. When I told him the tasks I needed done, he accurately estimated how long it would take. He offered to pick up the drawer parts for me. I hired him a few weeks later for the oil-based painting. This gentleman (I can't remember his name) is a contractor, but likes to be always working. When business is slow he'll take on handyman jobs. He was polite, professional, and did quality work.

Jason showed up exactly when he said he would, identified about 12 posts that had been shimmed long ago by prior owner, and would benefit from replacing. He fetched the necessary lumber, and replaced all posts within a day, which sounded to me like a lot more work than could be done in a day, but he did it. I suspect he has a lot more skills than just foundation post work, but the fact that he would even take this on says a lot about him. As I recall, he also removed a large range hood in the kitchen. I also had a general contractor on site executing remodeling on ground floor. During the day, Jason demonstrated professional "works well with others" skills, which were appreciated both by me and by the general contractor.
Description of Work: This was an Angie's List "Big Deal" day. I needed someone to check the foundation post support beams under my house, and replace any that need attention. It's not easy to find anyone who will work in the small space under a house, but other reviews of this company suggested they do this work willingly.

Of the three people I tried contacting in the "Handyman" group, Jason is the only one who responded, I'd emailed him my inquiry at 7:30pm and by 8am the next morning I had a reply, with an estimated price for the service. Scheduling of the faucet installation was dependent on other work being done in the kitchen by a tile specialist - the tile had to sit for 24 hours before the faucet could be installed. I knew only by Tuesday evening that the tile would be done on that Friday, so I emailed Jason, notifying him of the situation, and asking him if he ever works on Saturdays. He graciously replied that he would make an exception and do it on Saturday for the same price quoted. What a relief it was, because that Sunday we needed to do a lot of cooking in preparation for Thanksgiving! Jason was super-punctual, professional, clean and efficient, and I would recommend him highly. P.S. the only reason that I'm not doing the "Our Block" sharing, is because I don't spend much time on the internet.

I couldn't be happier with the work. Jason did an absolutely excellent job on each aspect of the project. As it got larger, he never paniced, was flexible and added workers as the need grew. I decided to pay on a time and materials basis as the project was very fluid and that gave me the flexibility to make changes mid project as needed. The project began in May and spanned most of the summer, with the last of the subs finishing up in early September. Would I recommend Jason? You bet. I've worked with a number of contractors and they often have so much work that they don't can't dedicate the time needed to ensure that the job is done right and that a quality is maintained. Jason attitude and attention to detail will make you feel that your job is the only one he is working on. I'm looking for more projects for him. I'm sure I'll work with him again.
Description of Work: I called Jason initially to rebuild a very visible arbor in my front yard and to replace the foundation of a second story deck in my back yard. After the project started, my wife and I decided to renovate of the outside of our 25 year old house. We ended up replacing about 50% of the siding on the back and sides of the house, 100% of the siding on the front of the house, replaced every piece of trim, added some very nice stacked stone to 5 of the pillars in the front, rebuild another deck, and created facades that masked the metal work on the top of each chimney. All downspouts were replaced as well as a few pieces of gutter that were not longer water tight. Finally, the entire house was repainted.

Jason from Precision Built Construction was great but I decided not use him. I heard about him through Angie's List and I only signed up because I've had such bad experiences here with people. I called him and he came over and gave me a bid and gave me a fair bid and had it to me in about a week in a half. He was one of the first people to come and I was impressed. His pricing was fair and he was prompt. He was polite and he just seemed like he would have been nice to work with and I will use him down the road. He was right on.
Description of Work: Precision Built Construction gave me a bid of $8,000 for a bathroom remodel.
