So Cal Kitchen Visions

Description of Work: I met with Bruce Snell of So Cal Kitchen Visions in April 2012, along with Mark Shaffer the Building Contractor to discuss the kitchen remodel I've been dreaming and scheming for the past 35 years. Bruce worked with me for hours, measuring, questioning me about my life style and needs, so that all my needs would be addressed with applicable design. Bruce sent me wonderful renderings of my new kitchen by email, and we sent ideas back and forth until we had a design that would work. I had specific functions that I wanted to be able to carry out in my new kitchen, and Bruce has the practical knowledge that he used to include everything I wanted. We still had to change a few things as construction began mid June. Bruce kept a trained eye on details, and he guided me into making decisions with appliances and placement of things that I am so thankful for now that the remodel has been completed. His expertise was always welcome and valued as construction was going on, and completed on Juy 31st. I had always had nightmares about ever trying to remodel, but Bruce and the professionals he works with were knowledgeable, and worked quickly with excellent quality of craftsmanship. A load bearing wall was partially removed between my diningroom and kitchen. The kitchen was gutted, ceiling raised and evened out. All new custom cabinets were built from lovely alder wood, with beautiful Brazilian granite installed to create a cooking peninsula with a raised counter along the side of it. All new lighting was installed, with 9 switches with dimmers. There are 2 different sets of canned lights, rope lights under the edges of all counters that send out a beautiful glow at night. There are under cabinet lights under the upper cabinets, bridge lights over the sink and lighting inside display cabinets over the sink. Also there is a sconce with 3 matching pendants over the peninsula. I have all new appliances including a range, a counter depth fridge, a built-in coffee maker, and a convection/steam/microwave oven built into the cabinets. New flooring, engineered wood, was installed in the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Ceilings in those rooms were scraped. retextured and painted, along with the family room ceiling. They even rebuilt my balcony that has beams above the family room ceiling. Then all the walls of the kitchen, living room, dining room, and family room were painted. Whew!! All that in about 5 weeks of construction, I'd say that I received excellent value and quality in a very short amount of time!! As I enjoy using my kitchen and living in all my "new" downstairs rooms, I am so greatful that So Cal Kitchen Visions did this job!!
