Trent, service consultant, came out to give us a quote on how much it would cost to switch from ADT to POST and add a transmitter to the back door. He arranged for it to be done within a couple of days. However, my ADT contract was in effect for three weeks. So I rescheduled the appointment for the day before my ADT contract expired. The original installer was held up on a job so Post sent another team. However, the new team didn't have much experience on how to do the switch. While they were working on the alarm, the police arrived. ADT noticed someone breaking into the alarm system and sent the police to investigate. I should have been told to notify ADT to put the system on hold. The installers did not have the correct transmitter and I had to schedule another appointment. Trent should have taken down the transmitter information so the installation could have been done in one visit. Except for a couple of glitches, I am satisfied with the service so far. Jamie who schedules the appointments was very helpful. Steve who installed the transmitter is very knowledgeable.

We consulted with our neighbors who had the service. They were very happy with it so we contacted POST. Bruce Fairbairn came for a consultation. He reviewed our needs and situation and recommended what would be the best placement for door and window alarms. He understood us, was not pushy in the least but attentive to alternatives that would work for us. The installers were excellent. Bruce instructed us in the use of the system. The system itself is very easy to use and the office alarm staff very responsive.The monthly service fee is not affected by the services purchased. For us, it includes the medalert and fire alert. Was peace of mind when one of us was away. When we had questions, Bruce was available and helpful.
Description of Work: Advise, install and activate security system including fire and med alert for a two story hillside home with multiple access points. Thorough instructions. Test the system, adjust after our initial use.

Trent, the sales rep, was knowledgeable, detail-oriented and very professional. Arrived to consultation on time, prepared and kept it brief. He did NOT try to upsell anything, and attempted to keep everything as cost effective as possible. "Switch Over" was only $90s, but I wanted a new touch pad as the ADT one was faulty, not hard-wired for power, and wasn't always readable. The NEW pad is awesome. The installer arrived on time, handled everything perfectly and it all works great. VERY happy with local monitoring center, all employee Post team (no contractors) and no contract period/month to month service at the lowest price we found. Honest, transparent and no hidden charges.
Description of Work: Transferred service from our previous alarm company (ADT which is awful), replaced/upgraded our alarm touch pad to full color, and replaced Carbon Dioxide (co2) sensor (which apparently MUST be done every 4 years, even though ADT never did so in over 10 years...)

We are completely satisfied with our service so far. Kenny Lee, the rep that worked with us, was nothing short of incredible. He was extremely professional and on time for every appointment. Not to mention he was available every time we needed to call with questions. When you decide, like we did, to go with Post...see if you can request Kenny. He is a true gentleman. My wife and I did our research between ADT, Time Warner, Front Point, and Post. We decided on Post because over time they are truly the best deal in home security. Their start up costs could potentially be on the high side, but with their $33 a month charge...it closes the gap of the other companies very quickly. Post is the only company that offers a lifetime guarantee on their hardware and you own what you purchase. So when you move, you take everything with you. What's nicer though is that Post will install and uninstall the system. While Time Warner and Front Point also have you purchase their hardware and you get to take it with you...both of those systems are do-it-yourself. ADT asks that when you move, you purchase a brand new system (but don't worry, the longer you are with them the greater the discount you could potentially get...which isn't much). They don't want you moving their system so that the next tenant will buy from them. Ultimately, you can't go wrong with Post. They've been in business for years and years, they are family owned, and they are professionals. Also, they have for an extra fee, a service that will drive to your house to pick up your paper and check on your place daily so that they can insure that your place will be protected on those extended vacations or business trips. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra upfront cost. You save money in the long run and you get way more than with any of the other 3 companies.

We've been experienced great service from Post Alarm System because of their prompt response and quality service. On 06/05/2014, after receiving a notice about upgrading our 16 months old cellular communicator without having other choices, I was furious and was considering to switch my security provider to a national wide security company. However, Mr. Robert Post from Post Alarm contacted me in person on 06/09/2014. He very nicely explained the whole situation about how they got a notice from AT&T with a short window of time . "We do care about our customers" said by Mr. Post and he would like to provide me a better solution since my device is still considered "young." On 06/10/2014, Mr. Post phoned me again that I can still keep using my current communicator until 2016 because their constantly communicate with AT&T ,and AT&T will not discharge the cellular station until 2016. Thanks to his quick response and sincerity, I decided to stick with Post Alarm and to upgrade to 4G communicator. One of the advantages to choose Post Alarm over other national wide security companies is that customers can experience consistent service from Post Alarm. They install, they serve and they take full responsibility of it. Unlike national wide security companies subcontracting the initial installation to different dealers who would take 90 days warranty of their service, Post Alarm's customers can always call the same number to ask for assistance. Post Alarm System deserves ?A? rating review because of their caring of customer and how they promptly solving issues for customers. They are organized, professional and they listen to and care about customers.

Everyone we had contact with at Post, including the representatives on the phone, the sales person who assisted us (Bob Jennison), and the installers, were unfailingly helpful and patient. Bob was happy to take all the time we needed to understand the system options available and guide us toward selecting the best configuration for our situation. There was no effort to upsell us or pressure us to make an immediate decision. At the end of this process, we were completely comfortable with the system Bob recommended. The installation took a day and a half and went very smoothly. The installers were happy to answer a number of questions I had as the installation progressed, and the cleanup was flawless. Bob returned to walk us through the operation of the system, answered all our questions, and made sure we were comfortable with it before he departed. He left his contact information and invited us to call him if we had any further questions or experienced any problems. We were concerned that installing a security system, especially selecting a provider, would be a stressful process but our experience with Post was exactly the opposite. We will certainly use them again if we consider upgrading our system in the future, and I would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone considering a security system for their home.

Mark, the entire installation team and office staff have been extraordinarily helpful, cordial and professional from initial estimate through planning, installation and trouble shooting of a detailed and comprehensive system. We received estimates from 4 companies including an upgrade of the previous system by the previous company. We had an unsuccessful attempt to install a new system by yet another company. There was no doubt Mark and Post were very experienced, knowledgeable and vey capable to install a very reliable and complete system in a difficult setting. They did an excellent job working with an existing system which needed updating. They use top of the line equipment and know how to install it. They worked extremely hard to get the system installed correctly and as efficiently as possible. It was a pleasure to work with such dedicated, knowledgeable and competent technicians. Everyone at Post has a positive, can do attitude and works hard to get the job done right. We could not be happier.

They are a family-owned company. I pay every 3 months. They charge me $60, that's because I don't have the patrol guy, I just have the phone. It's more if you have the patrol guy.

I have only dealt with them through installation. The salesman was very courteous and helpful and in attendance when the system was installed. On the few occasions when I have accidentally let it go off they have responded promptly and courteously.

They were punctual. Two people worked together to get the project finished. They were very professional and seem to know their business. Post Alarm System has been our alarm system for many years. We have a service agreement with them, and they respond to our needs professionally. They are punctual and worked as quickly as possible, but make sure everything works well before leaving. Their service may be a bit more expensive than other alarm services, but they are responsive and helpful.
Description of Work: Upgrade the alarm system to accommodate ATT Uverse, i.e. change the system so that it is working on a system other than just the phone line and upgrade the keypads. Check the system afterwards. Add a keyfob.

Post was great to deal with, had a faster, slightly less expensive installation than several competitors. Pat the sales rep was great. Would recommend them to anyone. One piece of advice: have them test the range/service of their cellular/radio back up system in your home BEFORE committing to an installation. We found this back up service did not work in our home. Pat was quick and helpful in coming up with alternate solutions...just a word of advice. You wont go wrong with Post.

They were really really personal. When they got down, they came in touch and worked with me really closely. They helped me to really find out what I was looking for from the system. I think that the people who came out were actually from the owner's family so it felt family on it. It felt really comfortable to work with them and let them through your house and do your security system. It was kind of an intimate thing. I mean, it was quite a fun experience. Their price was a little expensive but you get what you paid for. I would absolutely use them again in the future and recommend them to other people.

Gina Post called me today and resolved our matter. She went above and beyond customer service for us and assured me that all this would be worked out and that we would not need to worry and nee to pay anything to make this work again, we would have our remote monitoring back. I consider any company that has the respect and consideration for their customers as Gina (Post Alarm) showed me, is an A+ + company. I am glad we are remaining with Post. Their product and customer service is superb!
Description of Work: In 2009, Post Installed our wireless alarm, all extras, have remote monitoring system as well. We get charged every 3 months for monitoring and remote ($98 and $35, respectively). Every thing has been working well since then, But with the advancements of computer software, one of the products they sold us (Total Connect) that does the remote monitoring has failed to work...and Post now wants more money ($250 to $500) to upgrade a panel and chip that is needed to work with a new Java script so the remote monitoring works correctly. So what was the monthly $35 charge for? Total Connect...by Honey Well is the Software Post uses for remote monitoring. UPDATE: I was annyoned at this and actively seeking a new home alarm company and system to work with after we found out about this....but then Gina Post called me herself.

We are very happy with the alarm service that Post Alarm has provided. Their monitoring station has always called within seconds when the alarm was activated (accidentally), so we have a real peace of mind knowing that if there ever is a real emergency, Post Alarm will be there for our family. The service techs are outstanding - friendly, polite, and always on time. We recommend Post Alarm to all of our family and friends in the area. These guys are the best - no need to look anywhere else for a home alarm or security system.

Called for an apt. Got a human on the phone! ( several other alarm companies didn't ever answer their phones) Made an apt . "Salesman showed up on time, was knowledgeable: set apt for the tech to come do physical inspection and switch over , about 10 days later. Tech showed up on time, was very competent and helpful.

Bruce met me at my home to look over the house, make a recommendation for a security system and provide an estimated cost. He was knowledgeable about the system and products. I had researched information about options on the web and inquired about several different items. Bruce was patient and explained the various features. I appreciated that he provided an honest appraisal and did not try to up-sell me on items he didn't feel that I needed. My home is relatively small and I ended up with a modest system that does what I need. On the day of installation, Bruce came again to introduce me to Jaime who would do the installation. Jaime was polite and efficient, but encountered a problem when he found out I didn't have Wi-Fi in the house. During the initial interview with Bruce, he did not ask me if I had Wi-Fi and did not indicate that this was important to make the secuity system function properly. The Wi-Fi issue turned out to be a fairly significant hitch in the installation. Post initially said it wasn't necessary and Jaime worked to use a different set up that involved hooking to the cable internet system. They got most of the alarm system working properly; however, Post was not able to enable the functions that would allow me to access the system remotely using TotalConnect. Ultimately Post had to come to my house five times to get everything working properly. On visit #4, Victor, the installation supervisor, also came and determined that it would be much simpler to make the system work properly using Wi-Fi rather than trying to modify for a wired system. Upon my consent, Victor went to the store and purchased a Wi-Fi router for me and installed it. For me, this was a bonus. I paid for the router, but he installed the Wi-Fi for free, so the result for me was a working security system and Wi-Fi to enjoy for other purposes. I appreciated Victor's willingness to do what was necessary to get the system working. Once the Wi-Fi was installed, this pointed out another issue. AT&T cellular is the primary means by which TotalConnect communicates with the security system, but the signal was too weak in my neighborhood to make the system function properly. Post needed to switch my system so that the Wi-Fi was the primary communication with the AT&T as back-up, but they were not able to get this to work during visit #4. This meant Victor had to come back for visit #5. However, visit #5 was pretty quick. In the interim period, Post had contacted the software manufacturer and had him fly out from North Carolina to explain how to fix the issues with my system as well as a few other clients' issues. Armed with this information, Victor was able to get everything working. Now that all is working as it should, I am very happy with the system. I really like the Honeywell product and love being able to access the system remotely from my iPhone. The only reason I didn't rate Post overall as excellent was the need to come to the house five times to work on the system. This was a bit aggravating, and to me, excellent would mean getting everything right on the first try. But I do give them very high marks for customer service and follow through. A lot of companies would not be so dedictated to making everything right once they have your money. But every person I talked to at Post from the installers to the appointment schedulers were unfailingly polite and responsive, and the staff did not quit until I was satisfied with the system. I have accidentally set the alarm off twice, and both times the monitoring center called me within a few seconds to see if I needed assistance or it was a false alarm. This gives me peace of mind and I rate the call center's responsiveness as excellent. Overall, I would be happy to recommend Post to others as a skilled and reputable company. I like the fact that they are a locally owned company and that all of the people whom you encounter are employed directly by them. This makes me feel more secure.
Description of Work: Post Alarm provided an estimate to install a security system in my home, and then installed the system. I selected the Honeywell product using TotalConnect 2.0 software. Since the installation I have used Post's security monitoring and patrol services and the remote access feature using TotalConnect.

It went well overall. The only reason I gave a B and not an A is because the installation took about 3 hours longer than the original time estimate and a third serviceperson had to arrive to help complete it. Delbert came to our home to give us an estimate and walk through our options. We found him very personable and professional. We signed the contract the next day and an installation date was set for a about a week and a half in the future. Delbert and the technicians (Sid and Sam) arrived right on time and sprung into action. Our home has some quirky features that made choosing a place for the keypads a little tricky. Once that was decided Delbert left and the techs worked and worked. After about 4 hours another service person arrived and helped install the sensors on the windows. No one informed me why he appeared but I gathered it was because of the time it was taking to complete the job. I surmised that the walls were thicker (and trickier) than the techs had originally thought and the "hard wired" part of the job had taken much longer than anticipated. Although we have a wireless "GSM" system the keypads are hard wired. Delbert returned and spent the last hour or so with us as the techs finished up. The only other surprise was the size of the sensors. We currently have a different alarm company in our rental and the sensors are very small, these were larger than we anticipated. However, we had not asked to see them or made any inquiries before installation, so that's on us. We then were given a lesson and shown how everything worked. Despite the delays (which again, were most likely due to our quirky and elderly home) I would heartily recommend Post. Of course, we have just begun our monitoring service with them but I feel confident we will be satisfied. The customer service has been great and the technicians closed everything they opened (crawl space, heating vent, etc), swept and put everything back together beautifully.
Description of Work: Alarm was installed on approximately 20 openings in our home, with two motion detectors, two keypads and wireless monitoring.

After doing some research on what seemed to hundreds of alarm companies we decided to go with Post Alarm since they are not only their own dealer but also service provider. They are family owned and it shows, from the call center to the sales representative Delbert who was courteous and very helpful in working with our schedule. He came out to survey the home to see which system would be best. We went with a system that was a bit on the expensive side, however we do OWN the system and they don't require a contract, which was very appealing when compared to most other companies who lease and require contracts. There were some additional questions we had after the install and Dilbert was quick to respond and put our minds at ease. I would highly recommend Post over the other alarm systems because they are not a huge company and can give you very personalized service, which in my opinion, is what an alarm company should be all about.

After several sensors had either fallen off or stopped working on my 7 year old system, I tried to call my old ADT alarm company. They were no longer in business. So based on Angie's list reviews I called Post Alarm to get my home alarm system in good working order and takeover monitoring. The salesman came quickly and took notes on what I needed. Although I was supposed to quickly get an estimate there was some issues in getting the estimate right but Once a manager got involved, everything smoothed out immediately. Paperwork was filled out and the contract signed all by email scans. They were very easy to work with. They bent over backwards to quickly schedule the work to be done. They were very helpful, absolutely no upsell pressure and professional, pleasant installers.
Description of Work: I needed to test all my old sensors, replace some, upgrade some and add some and then have them takeover monitoring from a different company. Although I initially had some difficulties with the salesperson, once management became involved everything was handled professionally and with great customer service. They worked very hard, giving us all the time that was needed to get everything right including replace old batteries in the wireless sesors, fix broken sensors, test and generally upgrade my system so they could take over monitoring. Price was very reasonable.

We contacted and selected Post Alarm systems after shopping around on the internet, reviewing Angie's List and searching other internet positive and negative comments on Alarm system companies. Post Alarm had the most favorable comments on Angies list and based on other Internet searches. Anthony Franco, the sales person whom we received the system description and recommendations on what to install, provided initial contact, the service coordination for installation, support and sales and trained us on how to use the system. His recommendations and training where valuable and clear. Anthony did not try to "sell" us or stress any particular system in his recommendations and he coordinated outstanding installation and support. Anthony was personable, very responsive to our questions and follow-on support, even returned our calls or e-mail on week-ends within a very short time after making the inquiry. Based on a customer satisfaction I rate Anthony and Post a 10 on the basis of 0-10, 10 being the highest score. The comments in Angie's list about the alarm system companies where very helpful in our decision to go with Post Alarm Systems and proved reflect the excellent installation and customer support we received from Post.

The price wasn?t cheap but it wasn?t that much. The salesmen aren?t always as knowledgeable about the product as the staff who installs it. I wouldn?t hesitate to use them again.

With twenty year old wiring to the door and window sensors there were bound to be problems. Post came back out three times to fix problems with the system and get it working properly. Frankly, this could have been a real hassle with a company that did not stand by their work. Instead they put in several extra hours of work and didn't charge extra. They were also the lowest of three bids from the best private alarm companies in SGV
Description of Work: Retrofitting an alarm system from 1990 with nearly 30 sensors.

The entire process was wonderful! The post technician/sales rep arrived as scheduled, was very knowledgeable and provided information and answers to our questions to make decisions. The experience was so much better than what we had dealt with when our alarm system was installed. As far as monitoring services - great job as well. It was a nightmare with our former company.
Description of Work: Upgrade of existing wireless alarm system (to use TotalConnect). Also contracted with Post to take over monitoring services from our former company.

Please note that this is an update of a previous report, which dealt with what I had perceived to be a decline in service. I had written in my original report that the company had always been top notch, which was why I was surprised at the issues I'd had. I simply need to say that the prompt response, and more importantly, immediate action from Gina & Bill Post to address my concerns has shown me that the company that I've been able to rely on through the years is still there. I can wholeheartedly recommend Post Alarm Systems.
