house cleaning
+ -1 moreJoe was recommended to us by a coworker. We've used him for about a year now, every other week, and the quality of work seems to continue to worsen. The only reason we've continued to use his services for the year is to avoid the hassle of finding another cleaner. For a year now, we have told ourselves, "Hey, what do you expect for $65?" but each time his crew cleans our place, we find they do a lesser job than the time before. I continuously have to call Joe to remind them that the glass-topped coffeetable needs to be wiped clean. They seem to lack pride in their work. We have now decided that no cleaning is better than the current situation and are shopping for a new cleaner.
Description of Work: Twice-monthly cleaning of 1100sf 2bedroom, 2 bathroom condo

+ -1 moreI found them on Craigslist. Their ad said they did a thorough job, including scrubbing floors. Of course that wasn't true. Three ladies showed up. They were done in an hour. Three man-hours is pretty fast, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It looked OK as they were leaving although they had a wet mop resting on my oriental rug. The owner, Joe Garcia, never called to try to set up a future date or to see if I was satisfied. I wouldn't have hired them back, but it would have been nice to have been asked.
Description of Work: General housecleaning: dusting, vacuuming, floors, bathrooms, etc. We have hardwood and carpeting. The kitchen floor had been mopped only with water and I could see dirty spots before they even left. The wood floor was streaked. They never cleaned the garden window (shelves, not panes), and the tile bathroom floor had hair on it. Stove top was poorly cleaned, with a big grease spot on one side. This is after they were done! One lady emptied my DIRTY dishwasher, clanging the dishes together so loudly I heard it from outside, which is how I found out what she was doing. They never asked me a question or asked for direction the whole time they were here. They used their own supplies.
