Description of Work: Failed to keep appointments with no notice , sloppy work,never completed the job. Ruined my brand new vinyl fence parts with sloppy placement of screws and washers . My husband was deployed to Afganistan when he was hired and he knew how much we needed him to be professional, neat and timely. His crew broke almost every waterline. At the site by not being careful one line ran for over a hour flooding area. No compensation for water bill or mess .

Description of Work: We had an aging redwood fence that was covered with well trimmed creeping fig. It made for a nice backdrop for our pool area and the roses and other plants in front of it The fence was failing after 25 long years and we needed it replaced without destroying all the landscaping and disturbing the sprinkler and pool pipes that ran through the area. We asked about chain link as that would provide a good basis to regrow the creeping fig and keep it trimmed closely. Hugh, "A Fence Guy", suggested a dark green color with the posts and supports being powder coated and the fence material coated with a green vinyl. All the green colors matched. They were prompt in showing up when they said they would and the work was done by Hugh and his sons. They were very careful with our landscaping and that of our neighbors and the pipes that were running close to the fence. . Several things stood out for us: The plant material and old fence removal was a much bigger task than it appeared. There was no change order or up charge. They cleaned up the work area and the area through which they moved the debris very thoroughly and carefully. Our pool could have easily been full of plant material and or dirt. Hugh was easy to communicate with, interested in doing a good job and unobtrusive on the job site. No cans all over or the radio blaring for people four houses down to hear. Overall, we could not have had a nicer experience and Hugh the owner is a nice man to boot!

 + -1 moreI called and left a detailed message asking for an estimate. The following day I called again and left another message. The next day I received a call back that gave a time for an estimate, which didn't work for my schedule, so I tried to call back and reschedule. I couldn't get a hold of anyone for the next two days, so I left messages. The following week I received a call from Michelle saying that she thought the owner had been by to look at the fence project. After asking that I remind her of what I wanted done, she said that they don't do refinishing or painting and she recommended that I call a handyman. I asked for a recommendation, and she didn't have one to give me. I wasn't impressed with my experience. Although it is not a problem that they don't do the type of work that I need done, I thought they were very unresponsive in only returning two of my many phone calls.
Description of Work: No work done, they do not paint or refinish.

 + -1 moreHe showed up on time. Completed the work quickly. The gates is repaired and it's unlikely it will break again. The contractor charged me exactly what he'd estimated.
Description of Work: I needed to have an iron gate repaired. It had been damaged when it slammed shut in the wind. I've had to have this gate repaired twice before for the same reason. This time I not only wanted the gate repaired, but a solution so it didn't happen again. I called 5 contractors for estimates. 2 were no-shows; 1 could repair the gate but had no thoughts about a permanent solution; 1 could repair the gate but his permanent solution was ugly and cost hundreds of dollars. Along comes The Fence Guy. Knew how to fix the gate and had a simple permanent solution.

 + -1 moreHalf an hour before our scheduled appointment on a weekday morning, they called to cancel. Came the next day, looked at fence, said they'd send an estimate. No estimate ever arrived, and more than 2 weeks later, they haven't returned 2 phone calls asking about it.
