They were punctual for the appointment and very personable. Wife does the business side, husband does the actual work to my knowledge. The wife speaks fluent English and is very nice. Husband primarily speaks Spanish, but is very nice was well. Good people.

The overall experience was excellent. They were on time, performed all the work I requested in a knowledgeable, competent and timely manner. I will definitely hire them again for future work. English isn't Amulfo's first language but, with a little patience he understands what needs to be done and does it. Karina is very fluent and manages the estimates, finances, etc of the business. I feel fortunate to have found them.

I could not ask for anything more in a lawn clean up company! They are prompt. They communicate with me and do as they say they will do, and they do a wonderful job. They have performed well beyond my expectations.

He came on time with a helper, used safety equipment, and cut down the tree in small pieces which he and his asst. removed from the yard. He did not remove the stump, which was ok, because I was using as a base for a statue I wanted to use. He was thorough, and did a fine job. English is not his first language, and although we communicated well, his wife is much better when discussing complicated issues, and payment. I have referred him to family members, and friends, and would use him again anytime. He is an excellent worker.

I had called A. Melgar Gardening on a Saturday before a holiday and asked them to come by my home and give me an estimate for a clean up of my backyard. Karina gave me a call back and her and her husband come by my home, walked through my backyard and gave me a fair estimate of what they could do. My backyard is designed to be low maintenance, but there had been some serious overgrowth. Karina was very helpful on suggestions on what to do, and she left me very comfortable with hiring them. We had sent up for them to come by a few weeks later and when the time came, they came and really made a wonderful difference in my backyard. The work they did was amazing and my backyard looks wonderful. I plan on having some more work done before the Spring of next year and I will definitely use A. Melgar Gardening & Landscaping again, and would recommend them to any of my friends who could use landscaping services.

First visit overgrown and difficult, they said nothing, just spent the extra time needed. Since then , weekly service has been excellent. (Angie's list doesn't let me list "ongoing"as date performed, but service is weekly, price is monthly.)

Overall their service has been pretty positive. They have shown up all the time to do the work and it looks very neat when they leave; they clean up well. The only negative I have is that I have to point out extra things for them to do; I wish they would see it and just do it without me having to point it out; but it is in their contract to do it this way. I think their pricing is a little high.

We decided to fire them after a month and a half because they were uncooperative and rude and were not qualitfied to do the work.

They are very prompt and do a good job.

The crew worked hard & fast to clear out brush which had been growing for who knows how long. They even tried to see if there were any plants that were salvagable but it was too far gone. They hardly took a break even though it was a very hot day. They cleaned up so well afterward you'd hardly know they were there. The same top-quality service has continued for regular lawn care. They are always there & clean up well after the work is done.

They came over on a Sunday (which they normally don't do but made an exception for me) and right away I could tell that they had such a professional approach to the project. Karina gave me many options, discussing the pros and cons of each. She asked me questions about what I wanted, as opposed to others who just said they'd clean up the yard without listening to what I wanted. We decided on a plan to lay down new sod, remove two trees, and clear out overgrowth, and plant new flowers along the back fence. Her husband would do the actual work and we set a date for the project to be completed the following weekend. The highlight for me was when Karina and I went to the nursery to look at different types of plants and flowers, and what would look best in the garden. I was grateful because this isn't my area of expertise, so for a novice like myself this was the highlight. Again, Karina gave suggestions but asked me for my opinion and ultimately I made the final decisions. The project was done in two days, exactly as budgeted, and the yard looks fantastic. They take pride in providing quality work and I am very happy, so much so that I've asked them to perform the monthly lawn maintenance. In addition to the outstanding work they did, I cannot say enough about the Melgars as people. They are so genuine, honest and friendly, and are just great people. I feel like they are almost family!

Representative (Karina (916) 207-3599) of Melgar Gardening & Landscaping arrived on time. Walk through was completed with questions and answers. She was very professional and personable. I had specific one time needs which did not include items such as mowing or edging. I needed several trees trimmed, but no climbing involved. I had 60 ft. of privets with overgrowth that needed trimming to 6' H x 8' W. Additional work was grass/weed removal in substantial river rock/pea gravel and planting areas and jasmine bush trimming and\or removal. We agreed on a review date and time when one of her professionals would have on site input. The professional pointed out the rock and gravel areas would be hand intensive work, of which I agreed. The review was a true question and answer phase - does my drip system work, how high can you trim up into the tree, do you haul X, do I want the leaves under the privets removed (I did not - it offers mulch and moisture retention in this area), etc. A price was presented and agreed to, along with a work start and estimated end date (a possible two day operation). Melgar Gardening showed up on time and because the review professional was part of the two man crew, work was started immediately. This two man team were efficient, methodical, knowledgeable, friendly and FAST. I was surprised how quickly they moved from one task to the next. Even though it took many hours, before I knew it, they were finished. Melgar representative Karina showed up just as the job was completed and we all walked through the site for final review. I was overwhelmed. The crew went above and beyond. Additional enhancement touches were completed by the crew that made everything look so much better than just my requirements. I would definitely use and recommend Melgar Gardening for any related task around the house.

First, Arnulfo came and gave us an estimate on the sprinkler job. Next, he ordered the parts and even up-graded the valve box on his own. He came for about 4 hours one evening and installed the valves and dug the trenches for the pipes. He came the following weekend and installed the pipes and heads. He has been back to see if the timer is set correctly, asking my husband to add a few minutes in several areas. Because the sprinklers have made the dirt flow onto the cement and patio areas, he is planning on outting in some sort of brick retainers to better hold the dirt around the many plants. We have found Arnulfo to be a conscientious worker who truly cares that his clients are HAPPY with his work! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND MELGAR LANDSCAPING!
