My husband and I were out of the country for most of Dec and my 2 girls came home from school and they let us know that the toilets and showers were gurgling and not draining very fast. We were limited in our communications with them, but we managed to get a message to them that Al's Septic had drained our septic in the past and to call them, which they did. A day later, we get another email saying that the toilets were still not flushing well and showers were clogged and Al's septic had told them that it was our leach field. And seeing that my husband had replaced the leach field recently, he knew it couldn't be that. So the girls struggled thru it and when I got home, 2 weeks before my husband, needless to say, I was mad and didn't really know what to do, as my toilets were overflowing and my showers weren't draining very fast. I took the cap off the cleanout just to keep things flowing, but that means raw sewage in my yard that I was burying . YUCK<YUCK<YUCK.....my husband got home and dug up the septic tank (my girls dug it up the first time) and came in and informed me the plumbing was fixed as he said that the Tee outlet pipe and Tee inlet pipes were plugged up and that the man who came to do the job didn't do a conscientious job, and they charged us $300 and my girls dug up the tank (there is a charge for digging, last time they were here they told me $75.00 for digging). So my husband called them and told them what happened, but the guy on the phone wasn't the nicest of people, all my husband said was that they didn't do a conscientious job and should have cleaned out the Tee pipes. The man on the phone, without saying it, implied that my husband was a liar. Needless to say, after my husband told the man about the 5th time what had happened, my husband got upset and asked for an acknowledgement that it wasn't done properly. My husband never even asked for some money back, which I would have, he just wanted the company to know that they have an employee who "didn't do a conscientious job" . So here's the facts: for this one time. 1. Al's drained our septic tank, charged us $300 and said that is was still not draining because our leach field needed to be replaced. 2 My husband returned from his trip and within an hour of him checking out the septic tank (most of the hour was done digging as our girls had already covered it up again), my plumbing was working 3. Al's was called to let them know that they didn't complete the job they were paid to do, as the plumbing was still backed up until my husband unplugged the tee pipes 4 Man on phone got somewhat defensive and implied my husband to be a liar 5 My husband only asked for an acknowledgement that they hadn't done a complete job and he didn't get one. We don't know who drained the tank, it could have been the man on the phone, who knows, but that is such a basic thing, un clogging the tee pipes, and it cost my girls and me 2 weeks of frustration, so I gave them a good grade for showing up when they said they would and an average grade for the price because I'm assuming that the $300 is within what others are charging, but I give them a failure at customer service and overall professionalism when a problem arises from their work.
