The next day, 10-29-15, I spoke with Tim again and he was ruder than ever by speaking over me when I told him I was still waitting for the license number. He said that Sam was not going to be able to meet with me on 11-3-15. At that point I decided this is a company I do not care to do business with if communication breakes down at the first level in the receptionist's office. This is a definite red flag if a business is not forthcoming with their state contractor's license.

This was an excellent job at a great price. The quality of the material used and the workmanship were very good. The company was very responsive to QA issues and the end result of the job was superb. They were where they said they would be on time every day and always gave us a call in advance of their arrival a the house. Only issue was a lack of communications between our acceptance of the job bid and the actual start of the work -- it was hard to get a confirmation email with schedule from them. Otherwise, the job was great and we would recommend them highly to others. Sam was especially good with the estimation portion of the job, and Tom was great with the work part of it.

He did a great job. He was here when he was supposed to be. He gave me an estimate and worked at the same time.

I waited till 10 :30 am. No one showed up. I phoned the office and the receptionist said she did not make appointments and therefore had no idea about any appointments. She said someone would call me. I waited another 15 minutes. No one called. I called again. They totally forgot about the appointment made a couple of days ago. They wanted to come at 12 noon but I had an appointment elsewhere at 11:30 a.m and was unable to wait. He kept asking to .come at 12 noon. Apparently, he did not understand what I was saying. An hour later, someone else called wanting to come at 12 noon. I kept repeating several times that I would be elsewhere and unable to meet him at 12 noon. We had a communication problem. I repeated myself at least 7 times and they still could not understand. I finally had to cancel. It was extremely unprofessional to forget an appointment made within the week.

Sam arrived at the promised time. He examined my gate problems for 2 minutes, and told me without hesitation that he can fix it in 20 minutes. My front iron gate was partially detached due to the brick that hold the gate joint is broken. Sam added a new iron plate at a different location to create a new joint on two separated-bricks. This method is capable to minimize the direct impact from closing the gate and also secure the attachment. While reattaching the gate, Sam made sure that the gate can be closed properly. After the work, he carefully painted the new plate and the repaired spots that need attention. Sam did complete the work thoroughly in just 20 minutes!! I am very satisfied with Tom's Iron Work's service, and definitely will use their service again.

Designed and constructed powder coated front gate in wrought iron look plus fence with gate for back yard in powder coated look. They are very responsive and diligent, good to work with, did a small fix for my neighbor and did not charge her. Very good value for the price. We purchased basic iron work, not fancy specialized creations like custom staircase railings. So I can speak for what we ordered. We are very pleased. The gate is lovely and made just the way we wanted it. The back fence is perfect for what we need it for and looks very nice.

He got the work done quickly and did a good job, including primer on the new iron.

Tom called & scheduled appt. right away. Arrived on time, fixed the electric gate timer so it would work properly. He did the work efficiently & accurately. He did a great job, for the agreed price. Very happy with his work. He was very professional.

The estimate was fair and reflected all the work we wanted done. They performed all work in a timely and professional manner. The final result was great and was exactly what we were looking for. Communication was excellent and they were able to answer all questions we had.

Tom's Iron Works measured the job at the same time we were installing new pavers for our sidewalk, outside steps and landing entrance to the house. Between the time he measured and came to install the pavers were in. It changed how the job should be done. I should have had him come back out and remeasure with the new surface. Sam didn't like how the original design fit and suggested a number of alternatives. I thought we should start designing over and owned the fact that I was responsible and should pay. Sam made the changes, installed the revised staircase railing and charged nothing for the first misstep alleging that it was his error. The work is excellent and the integrity is high. I highly recommend Tom's Iron Works. Rare to see.

I used this vendor based on the great rating on Angie's List. I should have read the negative comments before I made that decision. What a mistake so far. The estimate was done very quickly and efficiently. I'd advised Tom that I'd call him as soon as we had the window/door replaced so he come come and re-measure and re-install the wrought iron. That's where the trouble began. I called to set up a new re-measurement time and he did come out more or less at the agreed time. After the re-measure I asked when I could expect him to take the old gate and adjust it and bring it back. He advised he'd come out in two days at an agreed time of 4:30-5 pm to pick it up. By 5:00 I'd not heard a word and called to check on his ETA. He blew me off with "Oh, well... my helper isn't available right now, I can come by 6:30 or 7:00." That was totally not going to work for me and I told him so and we arranged for him to come the next day earlier. He did show with his helper on time to take the old gate away. I was told that they'd be back out today at 10:00am for the re-installation. It is now 1:30pm and I've yet to hear a thing from the vendor, I've called the office four times only to be told that "Tom will call me back" and I've now called Tom directly on his cell phone and left ad not so nice voice mail. I am extremely dissatisfied with this vendor and their deplorable lack of customer service. I will follow up with another review once this has been resolved. *************UPDATE************* After I had to excuse myself from my desk at work and go into a conference room so I could scream at someone if needed, I was able to finally be connected with Tom. He apologized all over the place for his lack of contact and poor customer service. He wanted to come out that day at 6 or 7pm, was he kidding? I told him absolutely not, and that he had better under no circumstances... cancel on Saturday morning by 8:30 and have it installed or he could just bring the entire item back and get nothing for his services. He swore he'd be there Saturday morning. I was waiting outside for him by 8:15 and he actually showed up on time. Brought a helper who helped carry the gate around my yard to where it needed to be installed. They did their drilling and installing seemingly efficiently. Out off the blue, this woman with whom I had not been introduced nor never was, just waltz's into my house thru the open garage door and starts yakking with Tom in their native tongue. She never said a word to me nor made any attempt at any pleasantries. When the gate was re-installed and painted, they made an attempt to close it and lock it as it had been before. The original key was old and slightly bent and he forced it to turn in the lock and it snapped off. Tom immediately said he'd replace the lock and get it installed and left for Home Depot. Upon his return the new lock was installed and worked perfectly. The woman with him throughout the whole thing didn't appear happy about the lock replacement nor his having to leave, but whatever. At the end of the whole transaction Tom advised that the lock was on him and that he was lopping off $50 from the installation because of his poor time management skills in getting it done. I make my payment to the woman who apparently handles the money and they left. Will I use them again for other projects around my house, is unclear. They are not expensive, but you get what you pay for by poor customer service.

Provided exactly what we discussed in a brown powder coated finish. Worked with my work schedule. $480

Created a custom bracket, on site, to attach a steel mounting plate to a 4 inch aluminum post, since no welding of the two metals could be done. Sam condsidered the options and made a good call on attaching the 50 lbs. box firmly on the post. Sam's done other gate work for me and has a creative mind to solve a given problem. The braket was screwed onto the post and the adapter plate was screwed into the bracket, all rock solid. Responded to my call, stopped by and fixed the problem on the same day. He's not afarid to take on smaller jobs.

Job was easier than they anticipated and knocked off $240 off the cost.

All went very well. Sam was very professional and punctual.

One of the gates didnt fit perfect at first, but they followed through, fixed it and made it look great.

They did a good job. The workers were prompt and right on time. They did everything they said they were going to do. They came back a month later to do some adjustments for free.

He showed up on time, if not a few minutes early. Did a great job realigning the gate on my side yard so it would hit the latch perfectly. Adjusted the swing action so it wouldn't slam. Repainted areas he worked on. Cleaned up nicely.

It was easy. Would use again

Sam was early. That's a good thing. Manners were polite. He accessed situation. Gave me a quote. Which what he Charged me. Good thing #2. Then he went to work and to Home Depot to buy handle. Rebuilt gate support. Finished Approximately 1 hour. Good #3. Big Smile from Me?

Tom's Ironworks came and provided a reasonable quote to perform the needed work to re-align the outside iron gates that had shifted over time from ground movement.

They did a fantastic job. I would use him again in a heartbeat and I would highly recommend him.

I don't know how their rating is so high. Called to get a quote on wrought iron for my staircase. After the initial scheduling, received a call 15 minutes later to reschedule. So we rescheduled. Next day, I received another call to reschedule again. This time, I could not reschedule. On the day of the appointment, I received a call 40 minutes AFTER our scheduled time to inform me that he was leaving the shop but couldn't find my address in Google Maps. He finally showed up, took measurements and told me he would get me a quote in a couple of days. It's been a few weeks and I still have not received anything. Obviously I've moved on but I thought others should know.

Mr Lee repairs and repainted our the wrought iron fence on our front yard. He also fixed a side gate and completely replaced our back yard wrought iron fence. I feel we also got a great price for the work needed to be done. He is also a nice and patient person. Would hire him again for future fence work.
