He was fabulous. He did such a terrific for such a reasonable price. He was just great. They were on time. The work was beautifully done. I wish everything on the house was as level. The price was reasonable and it was done on time.

Joel came out to take the measurements and gave me a very reasonable deal since we have so many windows. Got our shutters within about 7 weeks, but definitely worth the wait. The installation was done by Tom and his team. Fast, clean, and BEAUTIFUL. We are very happy and satisfied with the shutters. Great products and awesome customer service. Joel will give you his cell phone and always return your call right the way even on his day off. Highly recommended Joel and his company.

Good Company. Prompt, cheap, good quality. The only thing is that the guy that comes out seems to be just a salesman. We had a couple of minor issues after the install and the first response is "oh that's how they come from the factory". However, they did come out and address the issues. Much cheaper than other estimates. I would use them again.

I called them in November of 2013 to come and give me a quote on shutters. Joel came out in the evening, which was convenient for me since I work. He measured all windows and showed me all the ifferent shutters that I could get. I placed an order that night, hoping to have them in by Christmas, even though it was only about a little over a month away. He put me down to try, but did explain that he could not guarantee installation by Christmas. He called me on December 20th to let me know that he had an installer that could install all my shutters on Christmas eve day. The installers showed up when they said they would and proceeded to start work. They were very cordial and polite and worked extremely hard to get the job done. They answered any questions that I had and did a fantastic job. The shutters look fantastic. I am so happy that I spent the money to have them installed. They are just beautiful. I could not be happier with Thrifty Shutters and their employees and the workmanship. It was just a pleasant experience all the way around.

Joel and his team were great. They ensured measurements were accurate and offered very good suggestions for designs.

I would highly recommend this company. Joel was great when he came to measure and give me the estimate. Knowledgable and professional. His prices were so good that I was able to cover more windows than I had anticipated. The shutters were installed today and they look beautiful. The installation crew was great. Very meticulous in their work. Did the job quickly and we're very polite. This company was a pleasure to work with. This isn't an "order today, get it tomorrow" operation. It took several weeks for the order to be completed, but the quality and service make it well worth waiting a little longer.

Everything went great. One window had an air-conditioning unit, and Joel designed the shutters to fit around the air-conditioning unit. Great job!

Everything went as planned and promised, and even better, since they gave me the opportunity to accept delivery a bit earlier than planned. Tom was very helpful in giving me advice as to how I could extend the life of my shutters and even provided me some stain for my own use in touching up the frames. These guys get an A+.

I chose Thrifty Shutters after receiving a few other estimates based on reviews and competitive pricing. I called for an estimate and Joel came out within a couple days. He spent a substantial amount of time at my home explaining my options for the shutter configurations. It took about 5 weeks before the shutters were ready. The gentleman that came to do the installation was prompt and friendly. He cleaned up the entire area before leaving. Most importantly, the shutters are beautiful and work wonderfully!

We loved our experience with Thrifty Shutters. It was great in every way -- great service, great price and great products. We were doing several projects around our house, and we wanted to look into getting new shutters for our master bedroom and our living room. One estimate that we got from another company was more than what we wanted to spend ... and then we found Thrifty Shutters in Orange County. (Found the company on Angie's List!) The owner of the company was very nice on the phone; Tom came out and did the estimates and explained that they could simply repair and paint our shutters in the living room (saving us the cost of buying new shutters for that room). I was worried about the finished product, but he showed me an example of the repainted shutters, and they looked great. They looked like new shutters. We are very happy with the new shutters in the bedroom. They look great, fit perfectly and operate very well. And the cost was much less than the other company's price. The repaired/repainted shutters in the living room are awesome -- they look brand new and are holding up well (we had them installed a year ago. No problems and no complaints.) I'm finally getting around to doing a review of Thrifty Shutters because I really liked the people and we love the product -- and I told them I would do this for them. They were good to me -- I feel I should be good to them. We're already thinking about putting new shutters in 1 or 2 other bedrooms, and we will definitely call Thrifty Shutters when the day comes for that.

The quality of workmanship was excellent.

They were really good. They've got really good quality products. They were very professional. The guy who comes out and does the installation really knows his business.

I interviewed about 4 shutter companies. Thrifty was the least expensive and had good ratings with Angie's List and the BBB. It took about 6 weeks for shutters to be manufactured and they were installed today. The shutters are made of Bass wood and have a nice painted finish. The installer was very nice, clean, and informative on how to maintain the shutters for best results. He cleaned up everything very well.

I originally contacted Joel May of last year to get an estimate on the shutters. He was very courteous and on time and the price was good. The project has to be delayed because I decided to totally remodel my bathrooms and kitchen first. I called Joel in January and he said that he should return to do the measurements again since things might have changed after the remodel. I asked him to bring more sample colors, which he did. It took about 8 weeks to get the shutters and Tom installed them in about 4 hours. The job was excellent and professionally done. Because of the unevenness of the walls, Tom installed stronger magnets to ensure proper closure of the shutters. He also repair a few broken staples in one of my old shutters without charger. All in all the project went smoothly and the price is great. The shutters are beautiful and adds a final touch to my remodeling.

i contacted this company because of the reviews that i read posted here. they were local and had all excellent reviews. I called the contact information and left a message. the next day I received a call back and we schedule a home visit to measure and review the area for the shutters. Joel took the measurements, discussed product options with us and asked for half the payment as a deposit. He gave us an approximate delivery/installation timeframe. Everything was easy, stress free and smooth. We received a call about six weeks later to let us know that the shutters were ready to be installed. we scheduled some time and Tom arrived ready to get to work. He was so easy to deal with. very accomodating, professional and quiet. he even said hello to my dogs so they would be comfortable with a stranger in the house. he was quiet, self reliant, clean and focused. He arrived ready to work, wasted no time and was done in four hours. I couldn't believe it when he said he was finished. the shutters are absolutely beautiful and we love them. they make such a difference in the look of our room. we love not hearing the banging from the blinds that we had when the wind blows through them. they are beautifully installed and we couldn't be happier. Honestly, I would never go anywhere else. it could not have gone better.

When I first called Thrifty Shutters for an estimate, Joel was on vacation, yet still took the time to call me back promptly. When Tom showed up to first give me an estimate, he went over every option and explained them in easy for me to understand detail.. He was polite, and knowledgeable. I decided right then that this is the company I would purchase my shutters from. Tom came back out to do the installation and I can not express how happy I am. The shutters are beautiful from the inside and from the view of my house from the outside. Working with Joel, his wife and Tom is about the easiest improvement I have ever made on my house and I would hire them again and recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

I called several shutter companies who were not able to accommodate me with the design and installation of exterior shutters. I checked with the local big name hardware stores, end result they were too expensive for inferior shutters. I called Thrifty Shutters and to my relief, they did design and install exterior shutters . Joel Brown came out the next day right on time. He measured my two front windows. We discussed the design and size of the shutters that would be in proportion with the windows and our house. Joel is very knowledgeable, professional and experienced, and very easy to work with. We set up a completion time frame and again the shutters were completed just as promised. Joel called to set up an installation time. Joel and installers arrived on time. The installers were extremely neat & professional. I had some concern about the tiles on the roof breaking but they were very careful and none broke. The shutters look AMAZING!!! They are BEAUTIFUL with perfect size, design and workmanship! They were just installed today and my neighbor had to come over and say how AMAZING the shutters look. Joel Brown & Thrifty Shutters is a RELIABLE, HONEST, top-notched company who was a pleasure working with. I can only say, I wish every company was as easy as this to work with. Thrifty Shutters is amazing! The guys are very professional, delivered the shutters quicker than the estimated date, and even installed a curtain rod for me that I had purchased separately for no additional charge! I would definitely use Thrifty Shutters again, and recommend them to anyone.

It was an amazing experience from the time I meet with the sales rep who drove 2 hrs to meet with me. Then he also came back the day of the install to make sure everything went as planned. It is one of the best and most smooth installs I have done in my home, i would use them over and over , before I would go to Home Depot or Lowels .

I almost didn't call because they are in Anaheim & I'm all the way out in Reseda in the west valley. I spoke with Joel, the owner and he assured me that it was no problem, he traveled all over. He actually came out twice to measure because between the 1st & 2nd time I had new windows installed in the whole house. His price was better than all the other estimates & and he just gave me an over all feeling of his competence. Plus he really seemed to enjoy his work. When Joel called to say everything was ready to be installed I was having the downstairs painted & asked if he could hold off until the following week. He was most gracious and assured me that whenever I was ready would be fine. His installer & a helper arrived at the appointed time. They worked tirelessly without stopping (upstairs, downstairs) until the job was complete. Then the installer took me around to each room and demonstrated each set of shutters. I have recently had my kitchen completely remodeled & the rest of my downstairs redecorated & I must say of all the work & all the workers I have had in my house these past few months nothing was as perfect as my shutters. From the owner, to the price, to the installation, to the shutters themselves. Fabulous! I smile every time i walk into a room.
