It is stunning. The installation took longer than anticipated, about a week longer. Part of this was due to removing the slate flooring.
Description of Work: They installed tumbled marble stone flooring in my kitchen, living room, dining room, two bathrooms and entryway.

The first thing is that their customer service is really great. The guy that owns it is really attentive. He has a nice showroom. More importantly, I was looking for clear marble. I went to probably six other yards. For this showroom, I went out into the yard and he had exactly what I wanted and in beautiful, intact pieces that didn't have major flaws in them. The whole slab was usable because they took such good care of their slab pieces. It just seems a really great place to go to see a nice variety of stones. They are very good. I was so excited I can't tell you. After looking for this for months, I walked in and just said, "Wow!" That was exactly it.

I liked it a lot. They were on time. They were actually ahead of time; they said 8 days and they were finished in 4 days. The work was very good. I liked their craftsmanship. They knew what they were doing. I haven't had a single problem with it. Their price was a little bit higher than their competition but I actually didn't mind paying a couple hundred more for good quality. My guy that I used was very responsive. He was okay and I liked him. They had a lot of terms and conditions regarding cancelation or renegotiation. I would use them again if I had the same person. His name was Carl and he was good. He was the most responsive person.

Stone Age was recommended by the company that sold us our hard-to-find, eco-friendly countertop material (Eco-Terr). They were generally slow to respond, but otherwise okay. Once the material finally arrived at their facility in Anaheim, we went there to see it, confirm it was the correct stuff, and arrange installation. We also purchased tiles from them for our backsplash. The initial installation went well, although communication was erratic. They mis-ordered the tile edging and we had to wait with a partially finished project until the tile (plain white) arrived at their store and they could schedule the crew to come back to finish. But that finally happened. The work was good, with few compromises or glitches. The bad part was the follow up. There were a couple of small places where the grout didn't completely seal the spaces between a few of the tiles. I tried repeatedly to contact our salesman at Stone Age just to find out what I should use to patch the small holes (myself) and never heard back. The larger issue is that they kept a big chunk of counter material that we had paid for and had shipped to them. (They didn't even own it; they just cut and installed it. It was worth several hundred dollars.). I asked them to let me know if they were planning to keep the remnant on site, or if we should store it here in case we wanted to use it somewhere else in the house. Despite many calls and messages, I never heard back from them about that, either.I think their lack of response is unprofessional and unethical, not mention plain old rude.
Description of Work: We purchased counter material from a separate vendor who recommended Stone Age to install it. They received the material at their facility in Anaheim. They came to our home and measured our counters, then cut the material offsite to fit. They removed the old tile counters and installed the new ones onto our existing cabinets. They also sold us tile and installation for our backsplash.

Reviewed a large selection of materials at the showroom, and chose the specific slab to be used. Since we were in the middle of a remodel, it was not a problem to make a down payment on the stone and then later call to schedule for measurement/ installation at a later date. The person doing the measurement and installation was excellent - He presented several options for backspash edging and other details that I would not have thought about. All in all, a good experience..

Their pricing was reasonable. It was 18 by 18’s, 12by12’s, 12by 14’s and 4by4’s of tiles that were all laid out in a good pattern. They did the most professional job and I could not begin to rate how they laid out the kitchen granite tile. It was artist work.
Description of Work: We used Stone Age Tile Inc. in August or September and they did the granite and marble work in our kitchen and countertops and our fire place and also did the porcelain tile flooring of 750 square feet in our house.

I was able to see lots of different granite slabs prior to selection. Delivery was consistent which the initial estimate, and they were able to work around the sometimes slippery timeframes of a remodel. Measurement and installation went well, and I am very happy with the results. The installation team had some excellent suggestions on how to handle some tricky corners, and that was appreciated!

I was very happy with this company. We were at the end of our remodel and tight on our budget. Russel, our sales rep, found remnants of a style that we liked and was able to give us a great deal. The quality was incredible. No seams! We had a few problems. The counter for the bar was not the right size, but they re-cut and had it there the next day. They also forgot to do a template for the stove, which caused it to slightly cover a receptacle, but they adjusted it too. I highly recommend this company.

Not well!
Description of Work: The installation was a nightmare. First they called saying the slab I was to have installed that day had cracked. I had an early morning appointment that I had to take off work to make. They told me they had another slab and would fabricate that day. Installers showed up at 6:00 that night. They neglected to install supports under the sink so the following day when the contractor went to dry fit the faucet the slab cracked. They gave me the run around, but when faced with another professional repaired the counter. Seams are quite visible all in all; I guess you get what you pay for: beautiful granite but poor installation and service.

GRANITE IS A NATURAL STONE AND IS VERY FRAGILE. WE TRY OUR HARDEST TO ENSURE THAT REINFORCEMENT IS USED WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE, THOUGH CANNOT PREDICT ALL ASPECTS OF THE STONE'S IMPERFECTIONS. WE APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK THOUGH AND ARE VERY SORRY YOU WERE NOT SATISFIED. WE TRY OUR HARDEST TO RESOLVE ANY ISSUES THAT MAY COME UP, IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER.

They were great to work with. I got a premium granite for less than half the price for a prefabricated normal grade granite. The salesman was very nice. They have their own fabrication shop so that helps the price also. The installation was very smooth. They were on time and have done a great job.

I came all prepared to buy a very specific slab type from this store, but had a bad experience. Firstly, I waited about an hour to be helped. They had about 12 slabs in the type I wanted, but would only let me see 4. Since there were important variations in each individual slab I needed to see more, but they wouldn't take the time to allow me to do so. They said I would would have to sign a contract for purchase first before allowing me to see more. Why would I ever sign a contract unless I first found the one I wanted to buy? I finally left to buy the product elsewhere.

WE APOLOGIZE THAT SHE HAD TO WAIT SO LONG, BUT WE ARE VERY BUSY AT TIMES AND DO NOTIFY ALL CUSTOMERS THAT THERE WILL BE A WAIT. WE ARE VERY ACCOMMODATING TO CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY WANT TO LOOK AT SLABS OF GRANITE, AND WE DO ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO VIEW THE SLABS THAT WE WILL BE USING FOR THEIR SPECIFIC JOBS BEFORE THEIR JOB IS CUT.

Stone Age sent a crew that lacked English speaking skills out to the house to make the final measurements. They were totally unprepared to answer our questions and concerns due to the language barrier. They made no diagram and glued together some strips to simulate the kitchen design and measurements. A few days later Stone Age called and advised us that the ogee drill bit was broke and would need a couple weeks to replace. We decided to go with another bit after going back to the showroom. This is when we discovered that the crew had drawn up a diagram of our kitchen that was incorrect. We pointed out that the diagram was showing a wall that did not exist. They were not truthful in that they had to re-cut. When they showed to install it became apparent they had picked another slab. Problems were chips in the granite, stark contrast in the color of the two slabs at the seam, measurements for window sill were wrong. Everything had to be pulled out and returned to the shop.

The did an excellent job overall. This included the pre-measurement of the counter top, and discussions of the options for seam placement. The kitchen counter top is horseshoe shaped, and minimal seams was important. The workers were very knowledgeable.
Description of Work: They installed a granite counter top, which included pre-measuring the kitchen and fabricating the granite in their shop. The installation also included the under mounting of a sink, installation of faucet and dispenser, and had a cut-out for the cook top. There was no back splash installed, except for three small sections adjoining the windows.

WE PREVIOUSLY USED STONE AGE FOR A BATHROOM TILING JOB AND WERE HAPPY. WE BROUGHT TEMPLATES FOR THEM TO MANUFACTURE COUNTERS FROM THEIR GRANITE WE FOUND IN THEIR YARD. WE WERE NOT AS HAPPY WITH THE FINAL PRODUCT FOR THE COUNTERS. THEY DID NOT MAKE THE COUNTERS EXACTLY AS WE HAD INSTRUCTED AND THEIR WAS SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN DELIVERY FROM THE TIME PROMISED. WE ALSO FOUND WE HAD PAID MORE THAN WE SHOULD HAVE.
