Heating and Air Conditioning

About us

Our attention to detail and commitment to our values have helped us grow. It all started 15 years ago with our President, a young aspiring HVAC technician, who wanted to make an impact in the industry. Well, with his drive, and the help of our Nexgen family along the way, we've grown to 4 locations across Southern California, servicing customers every day. Welcome to Nexgen!

*****UPDATED***** After my initial review went live (Please read it!), I had the service manager Mike and also the owner Ismel reach out to me....to do everything they could to get me to change my review. Mike said he agreed with everything that I had written in my review and it was explicitly clear that the capacitor Jarret was trying to sell me was already brand new. He continued that was with me 100% about how I felt and that he had already made up his mind to let Jarret go, because that wasn't the type of technicians that they wanted representing their company. I seriously doubted that they were going to let this guy go (why would they when he is obviously bringing in great profits for them), but thanked him for the call. Then the owner Ismel calls me, he is apologetic about that I had a bad experience, almost immediately lets me know that he was going to suspend Jarret for 3 days and bring him in for retraining (so much for Mike firing the guy from the call 15 minutes earlier). I thanked him for reaching out and once again got off the phone as quickly as possible, to avoid pressure on changing my review. Now this is where it really shows why this company is so screwed up, why their values put their greed over customer service and how that it starts from the top and trickles down to the leeches working on your home/business. Late in the afternoon, the owner sent me a series of text messages, where he shared that he was going to suspend Jarret for a week and that is how serious that he takes 1 star reviews. OK, he is "suspending" his employee because of a 1 star review. He wasn't suspending him for fraud. He wasn't suspending him for price gouging more than 2,200%(which I am sure is their standard rate). He didn't suspend him for not doing a single thing that I had hired them to do, such as check freon levels, change out the air filter, look at the thermostat or even come inside of my office at all. He did not suspend him for lying about my cooling fan being out of balance and bouncing around (which he couldn't even replicate in the video he included with his report). He didn't suspend him for outright lying about every single thing in his report. He suspended him for the 1 star review....for getting caught. What irritated me more than anything though, was that the owner continued to defend his tech by stating that he was "a good guy and made an honest mistake". WHAT? Every single thing that he had done was fraudulent....EVERYTHING. Let me list them out again-Did absolutely nothing that they were hired to do (change out the air filter, check freon levels, make sure the thermostat was working properly, verify air registers were not blocked, etc). He attempted to sell me something at a more than 2,000% markup, that was already BRAND NEW. He attempted to sell me a new air circulation fan, that the current one was working at only 40% efficiency and that it would fail at any moment. He stated that the condenser cooling fan was out of balance and eluded to it needing to be replaced, but didn't go much further with it when I shut him down on it. If I hadn't shut him down, he would have added that in, as well as many other charges. In his invoice, he stated that I was refusing to do even the bare minimum of these much needed repairs, that he had no way of getting a hold of the building owner and that the sky was falling. When I went up onto the rooftop, where he showed me the unit and I told him I didn't want to do anything he was suggesting, he attempted to shame me by stating that "what, was I just going to pass these problems onto the next person?" Yeah, that is NeXgen. Although the reviews online were pretty good, I was hesitant in calling this company out, as they are a large company and my experience is that those types of companies overcharge. Well, this one is those companies and worse than I had originally thought too. I had called Nexgen out to give a checkup on my office HVAC system, to make sure it is operational before I was to move out. They were to verify freon levels in the system, make sure all is operational, etc. The tech Jarett did not verify freon levels, or at least he didn't bother to note them on the report that I had paid them for. As a matter of fact, he did not even take the time to verify if I had an air filter, where it was located, or bother to have it changed out (as you can also see to be lacking from his report) What did he do? What is the Only thing that he did? He took it upon himself to up sell me on a new fan motor and capacitor (the capacitor is less than one year old). He shared that the fan motor was blowing at less than 40% capacity, but that was only what he had put on his report and hadn't actually done any type of airflow test to show this....because it was false. He also stated that the condenser cooling fan motor was bouncing all around, and included a video, but the video shows that there is no deflection with the fan motor. On his report, he noted that I (his client and the one paying his invoice) did not want to pay for his recommended repairs, and that they had no way to get a hold of the building owner, as the tenant was the one that had called them out. Excuse me? First off, the capacitor that he was trying to sell me was less than a year old and only cost $15.00 instead of the $342 that he was offering for a(nother) new one. Secondly, he was correct in that I had hired him to come out, and if I (his customer) didn't want to pay a 2,200% markup to repurchase something that was already brand new, then I am surely not going to trust anything else that he has to say. Thirdly, since I hired you, if I decide not to proceed with work, that is all that you need to note in the invoice. To gaslight that I was not proceeding with work that he had recommended, and that he wanted to get a hold of the building owner, but couldn't because they were not the ones that called you out.....well, that is just super shady. I am happy to share my experiences with all on the web though.
