Description of Work: I bought the Big Deal-- $1,099 for Installation of Three Dual-Pane, Energy-Efficient Vinyl Windows. I paid additional for a fourth window. Gary arrived on time, took measurements, and showed me different window styles to choose from. He thoroughly explained the process and offered suggestions for the window selection that was taking place in a rental unit. The windows were ready in about four weeks but didn't get installed immediately due to scheduling and the holiday weekend. The window installer, Randy, arrived on time for the installation. He was very professional and personable. Two other guys came to assist with the installation. They worked around the bars on the windows that could not be taken down because they were welded in place. The crew worked for about 4 hours. Randy showed my tenant and me how to adjust the windows for cleaning. His crew left the area neat and clean. I am very pleased with the windows and the installation. I plan to call Metropolitan Windows again to install in a larger craftsman house. Thank you Metropolitan Windows, J. Randall Construction, and Angies List!

Description of Work: 15 of the 16 windows of my house needed replacement. We decided not to replace the one window. The sales visit was on time, no longer than necessary, and informative. We hired them. They came when they said they would come, they cleaned up after themselves, they did very nice work. They dealt with getting the permit (although I paid for the permit) and, as per contract, did not demand payment until the permit was signed off. The crew was very professional, and the result top-notch.

Description of Work: Replaced 11 windows and then a 12th window 2 months later in July, 2015 | |Everything went great. Windows look great. Have had no problems with anything. Gary was great and has a great presentation that made my decision easier. Price was better than others too and they do more than other companies (coiling). Will go back to them for any windows I need in the future.

Description of Work: Replaced 7 old original single pane windows with modern dual pane vinyl ones. Everything went very well with estimator very knowledgeable and accurate. Installation crew was very punctual and did a nice job inatalling the new windows and cleaning up their mess afterwards.

Description of Work: Metropolitan installed 4 vinyl sliders in my condo. They were late, so I emailed Gary and got a quick (and terse) response that they were running behind. No apology or anything, but whatever. When they got there, they installed the windows and broke some glass while removing the old windows. They did clean up most but not all of the broken glass. Our gardener complained the next time we saw him and asked if someone had broken our window because he found a bunch of glass. One of the employees had to be told (by my husband) to put out his cigarette before he came into the house!! His fellow coworkers agreed with my husband once he brought it up but they said nothing until my husband pointed it out. The employee was climbing through the open window hole during installation when this happened, not walking through the door. Once installed, the windows look great. They are hard to slide because they don't glide smoothly. This isn't something I checked when the sample was brought during consultation, so shame on me. One of the installers said that they will start to glide more with time and usage. They are beautiful windows. Other than the cons mentioned above, the experience was seamless and easy. I've read in the contract that the company will mail you your warranty once the work is completed. I've read other reviews that said they never got their warranty. I never got mine either. It's available online, but it's silly of them to put it in their contract if no one is actually going to follow through and mail it. They were done in half a day and because I bought a package that included 5 windows (instead of the 4 I needed) Gary threw in an accidental breakage warranty. This is what brought Metro's overall grade from a C to a B. That's "above and beyond" level service in my opinion. A few other aspects like punctuality, clean up, and thoughtful employees are all basics that I expect to be acceptable with any company. These were below average in my experience.

Description of Work: I decided on Metropolitan because they had similar great products that other companies had with much higher prices. So far I am very happy with my windows and the price was significantly lower than local window businesses in my area. One window was broken, so they reorder it without any problems. Ask for Gary Kopel he seems to be willing to give the best price and best product. Furthermore it was worth subscribing to Angie's list to find legitimate companies. Conejo Valley

Description of Work: I took advantage of $999.00 special for three windows. Price was about the same as other vendors, but most window companies won't install less than 4 windows at a time. Metropolitan Home Improvement was very professional and I'm happy to give them a good reference.

My only complaints are the $12 I was overcharged, and minor scheduling issues when it came to when and how long they would be there. | |They were done much quicker than I expected, which put me in a bind because I was at work, which is also how the $12 was overcharged to me. | |Overall good experience.

Description of Work: It went well, I have no complaints. Gary came and measured my windows and gave me an estimate for a couple of more windows. His prices were fair and reasonable. I had an window estimate from another compant a couple of days before and the features offered by those windows stayed in my head and those are the windows I want.
