I called Jerry to do a drywall patch in a cabinet on my rental property. He came out to look at it and see what materials he might need. I also asked him to replace some insulating trim around a back door, because the tenant had complained that the door was leaky in the winter. The door was in bad shape overall; it was delaminating on the exterior side and had dry rot at the base of the frame due to water hitting it over the years. Bugs and dirt would get in under the door, the threshold didn't fit well, and the deadbolt did not turn easily. Jerry suggested I solve all these problems at once by replacing the door with a steel door. I was hesitant, because although I knew the door needed to be dealt with, I had no experience with replacing doors and it was also important to me that any new door look the same as the original. He assured me that he would have no trouble finding a matching door and he could do both jobs in a day. I agreed. Later that day he texted me a picture of the proposed replacement door from the store. It was perfect. The next day he came back with the door and completed both jobs without any problems cropping up. The door looks great, opens and closes easily, with no gaps, and working the deadbolt is a breeze. I'm very happy to have this problem solved so easily. Jerry is a very hard worker, is ethical and very personable. He tries to give you as much value for his time and your money as he can. He charges for the day (7-8 hours), and the cost of materials is added to the day rate. This job was $400, including all materials. Jerry is now my go-to guy for repairs at my rental properties.
