My 25 year old house has a cement spanish tile roof, but had only one layer of deteriorating 30 lb. underlayment. Some recent roof leaks prompted me to do a re-roof. I interviewed 5 roofing companies. I selected Hoyt because I felt they were the best company, their price was competitive, and their salesperson (Chuck) was the most helpful and proactive (by far). While other roofers expressed some impatience and irritation to questions, Chuck seemed delighted to educate me and directly address my concerns and questions. This company has the personnel and equipment to do a very efficient roofing job. They also handle the city permit and coordinate the inspections. It took some extra due diligence on my behalf to verify their workers comp and general liability insurance were current. And once I signed the contract, it took about 5 weeks to begin. The project then took 5 1/2 days to complete (no down time). They initially came with a crew of about 10 workers, removed my tiles (via conveyor belt), stacked the tiles along the street curb, removed the old underlayment and flashings, and removed/repaired some damaged roof bed (at minimal additional cost). After the initial city inspection, the 2-3 journeyman roofers (assigned to my project) installed 2 layers of new 40 lb. underlayment. Then another crew of about 8 workers reloaded my existing tiles in small stacks across my roof. Over the remaining 3 1/2 days, the roofers installed new (double) flashings and 5 new attic dormer vents, applied sealant, reinstalled the tiles (nailed to roof bed), and applied mortar. Debris was hauled away and ground clean-up was done daily, with a thorough clean-up of gutters and grounds and final city inspection at completion. I made a single payment for the full amount due at completion. I was impressed with this company's professionalism, and am waiting for a hard rain to substantiate my confidence in their workmanship. (Hoyt offers a 10 year labor warranty).

I loved working with Brian. He is a sraight shooter and no nonsense guy. Appreciated the direct contat with him for any questions I had about progress. The foreman on the job was great to work with and I got daily update from him on the project and it's progress from him. The crew kept the job site clean a free of debris the entire week they were on site which is a huge deal when the teachers were prepping for the school year to begin. I will use this company many other times in the future.

Called for appointment and received a quick call back however, I was advised that I would either have to pay for an estimate at $109 per hour or he could just send two guys out give me an estimate and then do the job. Sounded a little fishy to me....

While it takes over a week after notification, the work was done well. The crew foreman was very patient and detailed with explanation of cause and made no excuses. Both he and the customer service staff were professional during all contacts. Would definitely recommend this contractor at this point in time.

The job was great. Chuck was very knowledgeable and gave me brochures with certificate, licences referrals. Because of rain the job was delayed a few days but they started and finished within a few days. More work needed to be done because of dry rot but i know that might be the case since we have had leaking problems with the old roof. I highly recommend Hoyt Roofing to anyone needing a new roof.

I have never been treated so horribly as by the "gentleman" that came out to do the estimate. He was rude, and told me my roof could not be repaired, (other roofing companies have told me no problem to repair, and that my roof and a good 10 years left in it.) I had asked him how much for a new roof, and right then another roofing company arrived to give me an estimate. He got so angry, told me he that if I was having other roofers look at my roof than he was not interested..... I hope he finds peace and happiness in his life, but this angry person should not be dealing with the public.

The job went pretty well. They were pretty professional. They were very experienced and they had a long list of satisfied customers that I could drive by to see their work or call; I thought that was pretty forthcoming. I only got one other bid and they were slightly lower. I might possibly use them again.

It was a really good experience. They were exceptional. We have a very large roof. A friend recommended them and I have recommended them to other people.

They were very good. They found a couple of leaks in my roof and repaired them. They had not done our original roof but we hired them to do the repairs. They were recommended to me by a neighbor and they were wonderful. They charged $800 when I used them five months ago. They had done quite a bit of work. When I used them in November, I paid around $400. They were prompt in coming out and they seemed to know what to look for; they went right to it and found the problem. I will use them again in the future.

I was given 2 estimates in the neighborhood of $8,000 - 12,000 to replace the roof. Hoyt inspected it and told us the roof was fine, and we only needed to replace the crown shingles along the ridge line, which had split after 20 years. While they were doing this for the garage, they also replaced the crown shingles over the whole house. Their price was only $850 for all. We tested with a garden hose, and the leaks are gone.

This was the 2nd home of ours that Hoyt replaced the roof on. They were very professional and left nothing to chance. They coordinated their work with the extermination company so that the old roof was removed, the house tented, and then the roof replaced. Because of another contractor's issues Hoyt was required at the last minute to reschedule the re-roofing twice. Never did Hoyt complain or delay the re-roofing because of scheduling conflicts. Their team cleaned up the area around our house and the adjacent neighbors every day. The attitude workman and quality of their work was absolutely first class.

They did an excellent job. Very happy. Crew was clean and very polite. Explained very thoroughly. They were not the cheapest but I think they are the best. They had all the requiste insurance and very good references. I feel like I got more than my money's worth. This is the second home I have had re-roofed and there was no comparision. They took no short cuts and did things correctly.

Hoyt Roof did a good job of glueing the pipe back in place and fixing the leak. The job was completed in just a few minutes. I would use them again if needed.

The workers were very competent and attentive. I really was pleased that I was able to get that new roof. They sent someone to take a look at it first and we talked it over - they had professional documents and I was willing to pay for a quality job.

They did a very good job and got the work done very quickly. They cleaned up everything when they were done working. We didn't have any problem with them at all.

The job ran very smoothly, they were very thorough in their cleanup, and they were unintrusive while they were doing their work. They swept the driveway throughout the day to make sure you could come in and out without running over anything that could damage your tires or car.

We had a gap around the sky lights, but when we called them about it, they were very responsive and fixed the problem. We only have one complaint with them and that is we did not want gravel put on the roof. They did do a good job though.

The positive side was that they did it very efficiently and at a very cheap cost. The negative thing about this company is that they were ethically challenged. I didn t think they did a structural report when they were finished. Even though they said that they had, the roof is sinking now and I am not pleased. They are not taking care of it and they are saying that it was like that in the beginning. They are saying that is was not their fault and are not claiming liability.

They were neat and clean. They did the job sooner then expected.

They had very good reviews on Angie s list, but, we did not have good luck with them at all. They called us back at weird times and it took forever to get something going here. We were kind of playing telephone tag with them. They had our phone numbers mixed up. I gave them my husbands work number and for some reason, they kept on calling me on my cell. It took them forever to show up, at least three months before they finally came. When they got up there, they guy said that it was all fine. They said there was one leak and they would patch it. They did not give us a bill; they sent it through the mail. My husband said do not pay them because we got leaks. They did not fix anything. I have not heard a thing from them yet.

Overall, I was pleased with the work although it did take a long time to complete from the time we did the estimate.

I wish all contractors were as good as these guys. Their price was the same as others who had specified quality materials.

The workmanship and professionalism of the crew(s) was impressive. They were obviously experienced and efficient. When the work was finished, the roof looked pristine and they took great pains to leave the work area cleaner than they had found it. My only complaint is that they seemed to have communication problems. They showed up unexpectedly. They claim to have left 3 messages pertaining to scheduling, but I was unable to find any message on my answering machine, telephone company voice mail or cell voicemail. They also neglected to inform me that the skylights to be installed in the patio roof were back-ordered until I called to inquire why they weren't installed.

The estimator came on time and was very personable. I pointed out the location of the leak (water stain on the ceiling). He went up on the roof to inspect the tiles. He gave a written estimate but with a repair he did not provide a warranty. We went with another roofing company that would perform a more extensive job and would provide a 5 year warranty.
