Description of Work: This was our very first purchase through Angie's List, I called in and spoke with a representative from Angie's List to see how this whole situation would take place. The young man on the phone told me that we pay the money up front, the company comes out and gives us a list of what it's going to cost. We can then decide to use them or not. However this was not the case, the young man did not tell us the correct information, not only did we pay the price for the "big deal" but we were given a list of $885 which we thought was going to be the cost. However, it was $885 over and above the price we paid in the beginning to Angie's List which made the cost was way over our head. The individual from Handyman was very nice to us and allowed us to make payments since I'm on disability, if it wasn't for that I'm not sure how we would have been able to pay for it. The company was outstanding but I don't care for the way the individual at Angie's List gave us the information and I'm quite upset with Angie's List and I won't use them again.

Description of Work: Installed 2 new toilets and bathroom sink faucet. Took away old toilets and faucet. Very happy with the service.

Description of Work: Overall, I was satisfied with HandyCrew. The basics of the deal are legitimate, however, with the home we purchased, there were extra costs with the work (not totally unexpected) that, when compared with competitors, made the price higher than the other quotes.

Description of Work: Purchased five days of handyman services. Replaced external door and 2 screen doors. Repaired loose flooring. Fixed two bath tub fixtures. Patched ceiling and wall cracks and repainted. Texture coated walls. Repaired grout and repainted outside Windows and overhang. Guys showed up on time and left the area clean at the end of the day. Went to Home Depot to select appropriate doors after measuring.

Description of Work: various tasks including assembling flat pack furniture, hanging curtain rods, rearranging heavy items, and consolidating shipping materials for trash pick-up.

Description of Work: The attempt was to get them to replace a broken fan switch in a ceiling fan. They refused to do so--saying they only replace an entire fan--not try to fix a fan internally. They said the generic replacement switch I got was not specific to this brand of fan so they took my money for coming out and did nothing. I think they should have refuned to prepaid money I already paid them.

Description of Work: I bought a deal for a handyman for a day. They completely missed my appointment and didn't call me to follow up.
