H & W HOME STAGING

I've never worked with stagers before, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I had hoped to spend around $1000 for 2 months of staging (living room, dining room, master bedroom, and a few accessories for the kitchen & bathroom). H&W indicated they could meet my budget and I wrote them a check to complete the proposal. A few days later I met with them to finalize things - at that point I learned that the cost would be about $1000 per month, not the $500 a month I was expecting. They seemed very professional & I liked their plans, so I swallowed hard and said "ok". Sensing my discomfort they faxed me the list of items they would be providing, which did make me feel better. At that point I learned there would also be an $100 hourly charge for putting waiting for the delivery truck & putting this all together -- potentially another $600-$800. Now my total costs were around $3000 for the first 2 months, and another $1000/month after that - far more than I initially had budgeted for. I'll chalk it up to mis-communication, but I'm pretty sure I initially told them I was hoping to spend $900-1100 TOTAL for the 1st 2 months. I ended up with another company that provided me with all the numbers up front, no surprises, and a 3 month total of about $3000.
