They write down what they are going to do. They did a good job and I have a lot of comments on the house from people who come by. They cleaned up afterwards as well. The cost is expensive but I knew it would be with the textured coating as it is more expensive than paint. I would use them again if needed.
Description of Work: In August I used Equity Exterior. They scrapped off the old paint and washed down the house and painted the trim. If there was anything rotten they fixed that and texture coated the house.

.They started on Monday as they promised. There was a lot of prep work to do before the the texture coat on the house. On Tuesday, due to a miscommunication, the crews made a mistake and sanded and glazed the inside of the windows. Something not covered in the original agreement. They rectified the mistake by painting over all the sanded and glazed windows in the original color. The house looks fantastic and there is excellent definition between the light wall color and the dark trim color.
Description of Work: They texture coated the house, garage and wood trim.

Two days after they installed my back bedroom windows started cracking. I called them and after two weeks they came out and put more caulking on top of the cracked caulking. He said there wasn't enough caulking, however it cracked again. They also came out to reframe the garden window that wasn't cut straight. When they installed the bay window, I was able to see daylight between the frame and window. They ended up putting molding on it, and it actually looked good but now the molding has cracked. They were very rude to me when I mentioned you could see daylight through the seam. They informed me that it was taking to long too install and they had to get out of there. It seemed that they were cutting corners to get paid and leave. They told me 'it wouldn't matter much in my house anyway.' When I called owner, he said he would get back to me when he wanted to. Then, my calls stopped being answered. This past Monday when I called, I was told he was putting out another 'fire' and he would call me back at noon. I haven't heard from him since. I don't really expect to either, and I would be very surprised if I do. I'm going to get someone to fix the windows properly. UPDATE 10/6/11 He was supposed to call me last week and he still hasn't called. These windows have a 1 year warranty on them. They started cracking 2 days after installation. It would be nice to get a response from them. UPDATE 10/10/11 I was sitting at my home on Saturday morning. I heard a really loud pop. I have a crack that goes down and across from the seal. When they put the windows in, they told me that this window would be braced and that I would need another header since it is twice the weight of what was taken out. They brought corbles and cables. They didn't check to see where the studs were and they just screwed them into the wall, so they're just decorative not holding anything. I am afraid my roof is going to fall off or they're going to break and the whole thing will come down. If the weight pulls the screws they only have an inch to pull before it'd tear. UPDATE 10/27/11 Very late Tuesday evening, this company sent a man out and we agreed on a partial resolution, a few days later, another man, Alex, came to my home to fix the windows, but he was not informed to the extent of the work that needed to be done, and he was not prepared with the proper tools to make the appropriate adjustments, and he said he could either go back to his home to get the tools and come back that same evening, or he could come back the next day. We agreed on him coming back the next day. That morning, Alex called me denying ever making the agreement to return to my home and put the molding on the windows like we agreed upon All my windows are cracked on the bottom and along the sides and this company has lied to me from the beginning of the project regarding the materials they used, and what they would to solve the issue.
Description of Work: I purchased new windows in June, and they installed them on July 29th.

Alex pressured me to pay in full at the end of the installation that first night. I held out $300 after lots of arm twisting. He came back a week later to inspect the job. I pointed out all the silicon finger prints on the glass and the black smears around the new , once white vinyl window frames and the yellow seeping around the frames. I also found after the rain that the "seep" holes were not seeping. Alex had bent the vinyl flashing a hair off so it covered the seep holes just enough to prevent proper drainage. He seemed undaunted by the poor quality of work and blamed most of it on a rookie installer instead of taking responsibility himself. He seemed very under the gun and really heemed and hahed when I insisted on these issues being corrected. He finally made arrangements to have somebody come out to correct what ever needed to happen. His assistant came out and spent 8 hrs trying to clean up the messes they had made. He agreed we had a real problem with the seep holes but he didn't know how to handle. A month later on a Sunday, Alex finally showed up on his day off to deal with the seep hole issues and the water that had indeed leaked into the inside of the windows. He had to remove molding and literally found water pooled in the fins. He sort of dried this water out without removing the windows, cut into the flashing and made the weep holes slightly bigger to allow for drainage and spay painted the scratches on the new vinyl flashing he had made when installing.
Description of Work: Replace old aluminum windows with vinyl replacement windows on 3 sides of the house. The windows themselves are the Brand - Anlin, Style-Catalina. I really love the windows. They are double paned, triple glazed, low -e window, AAMA, NFRC rated windows. They were more expensive but they have made a huge difference in the amount of time I have the heater turned on this winter. My beef is with the installer - Equity Interiors, Inc. Three guys showed up late, they did call, however; that meant they were running all day to try and complete the job. As it turned out they worked into dark using headlamps. Now this only led to quality control issues. I had 2 windows that were not sealed with silicon around the top so 3 days later when it rained water seeped into and under the vinyl sill wrap. Water was caught in the inside of the wall and in the vinyl fins. As the water overflowed these tracks/fins it had no where to go but slowly seap out the new calking on the interior of the windows. I now had big brown and yellow streaks around my new window frames and who knows what kind of H20 damage. There was also a question of miss-measuring the very large living room window. When I saw a gap of about 4"s from the top of the window to the old frame I became concerned. Alex the (foreman on the job and Head of Customer Service) I came to find out later; assured me everything was fine. However, if I had it to do again I should have refused the window. The new window is tweaked in several places and the frame sags in the middle due the way it is constructed. Not only was this window miss-measured in my opinion but the style should not be used for such a large opening. So the 4" gap got sort of filled in with foam but there is very little support from the new window to b*** up to the top of the old frame hence the sag in the middle.
