The day of the job, they showed up at 1PM for their 10:30 AM appointment. They did the work. The next day, as the sealant dried, huge milky white areas (some over 6 inches) appeared in many places on the stone, in addition to a general effect as if someone spilled drips of white substance everywhere. A call brought a manager who said they had used too much sealant and he promised they would come back, re-strip the stone and do the job right. A week later they returned this time at 10AM for their 1 PM appointment the crew said they were not going to strip the work, just use a solvent to clean the bad areas. After 30 minutes of work they declared the job done. On inspection I pointed out literally hundreds of white spots remaining. They said that's calcification and not their problem. I said it was not there before they did the job and I wanted to talk to their manager. They got in their truck and left. I am out $715 and have to hire another company to re-do.
Description of Work: Outdoor entrance decorative slate tile walkways had a sticky feel from a product the previous owner had used to seal and enhance the stone color. The product was causing a dramatic buildup of dirt that could not be cleaned using ordinary means. I hired California Marble to fix it. Their plan was to pressure wash, strip the old sealant and then apply two coats of a different sealant they promised would not result in the same problem.
