They went under our house to pull out our air ducts as part of the service. While pulling out the air ducts they snagged an electrical wire under the house which caused a power outage on the left side of the house. My husband called them when we first noticed the issue and they said they would send out an electrician. He came out and went under the house and said he resolved the issue with the power. Everything was fixed for a couple months and then the power went out in my son's room a couple months later. We called them again and they blamed the outage on old wiring and did not send anyone out to fix the issue again. They sent us a bill for the electrician which we feel we should not have to pay since they snagged the wire in the first place. My husband has been calling them and they will only respond through an email.

Dear [Removed member information]. We have called you and spoken to you regarding the misunderstanding you had on the invoice you received. We had already paid that invoice last year and we sent it to you for your records only. It shows the work done at your house last September by the electrician. The old wires that were pulled out under the house when tearing out the old ducts were reconnected by the 3rd party electrician. He made sure your electrical was taken care before he left. If you have any other issues, please feel free to call our office and speak with a customer care representative.

Allen returned to make sure everything tions were excellent. They did a very good job. The salesperson, Allen, came to our house, inspected all of the rooms did his measurements. Returned in a couple of days with our quote and explained how everything would work. He gave us different choices as to the size of the A/C unit and the heating unit. He gave us a price and told us what they would do. There was no pressure and said to give him a call when we had made our decision. After checking with a couple of other firms we found their price was very good and all of their recommendations were excellent. They arrived promptly for the scheduled work. Every one had a job and went about it. They finished in the allotted time frame, They cleaned up each day and left no messes. After the work was completed Allen returned to see how everything went and noticed a couple of items that needed attention. They were resolved quickly. This was a very good experience and I would definitely hire them again. I especially liked they were a family owned company.

We got several quotes for a new furnace installation and ended up Alps with Joey as the front man. We had some special needs that Joey said would be addressed. Joey was there when the 'workers' came to install the furnace so Joey could explain our needs. All of the needs were met. We had one glitch when 'testing' the furnace, heat was not going into 3 rooms. The workers found the problem, they had missed a duct. We have not used the furnace yet as it is summer, but I assume all is well, if not I will calling Joey. Good Job.

JOEY CAME BY, AFTER EXHAUSTIVE RESEARCH BY ME, I DECIDED TO GO WITH ALPS BECAUSE IN THE LONG RUN,BRANDS A NOT THE CRITICAL CRITERIA BUT INSTALLATION IS. i CAN TELL YOU I WAS QUOTED FIGURES FROM OTHER "EXPERTS" THAT WOULD BOGGLE YOUR MIND.AFTER SEVERL MEETINGS WITH ALPS I GAVE THE GREEN LIGHT AND WAS MORE THAN PLEASED. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EVERYTHING WORKED TO MY SATISFACTION. WE RAN INTO A GLITCH WITH AN EXHAUST FAN,BUT ALPS CAME BACK AND FIXED IT TO MY SATISFACTION. THATS WHAT I CALL GOOD SERVICE AND FOLLOW-UP. CONDUCTED AFTER INSTALL TESTING TO INSURE AGAINST LEAKAGE AND AIR FLOW.TAKE A TIP FROM ME AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND I THINK IN THE END, ALPS IS THE WAY TO GO.

After researching the cost of replacing a 26 year old Lennox air conditioning system I settled on Alps Air conditioning and heating. I called four different companies and Alps was the most forthcoming with details and costs. I obtained bids ranging from $6200.00 to $9622.00 for the same equipment. I chose Alps because they specified what equipment I would receive. Other firms provided costs but didn't specify the equipment manufacturer and that concerned me. I told Alps that I wanted an energy efficient system made by Lennox because our previous Lennox system lasted 26 years. I settled on a 16 seer 4 ton compressor and a variable speed forced air furnace. A new set-back thermostat was included with new register grills throughout our two story house Joey Gibellino was our consultant and he answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable about selecting Alps Air conditioning and heating. He also informed us about the Edison Lennox rebates and the $350.00 Federal Tax Credit. We met Joey on Monday 1/27/14 and signed the contract. On Tuesday 1/28/14 I received a call from Alps and the system was installed the following day, 1/29/14. The work was to begin at 9:00 A.M. and the installers, Jorge and Gustavo arrived at 8:30 A.M. It was so refreshing to have them arrive sooner rather than later. They immediately began their work and worked exceptionally well as a team. The old equipment was removed and the new system was put in place. All in all the work was completed at 4:00 P.M. They tested both the heater and the air conditioning, thanked me for my business and told me to call the office if I experienced any issues at all. From start to finish this company was professional. They were timely, left the work area clean, met the budget I had set and provided me with name brand equipment, I was very satisfied with every aspect of the installation and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Called for estimate and was given an appointment the next day. Joey came to the house on time and was nice, professional, and informative. He listened to our needs and gave us several options based on our needs. He was not pushy or aggressive and explained everything thoroughly. Based on my experience, and the price, I signed a contract and called and cancelled the other companies I scheduled. His guys showed up on time, and were very courteous and professional. They worked quickly and I was very impressed at how clean they were. I also liked that they frequently asked my opinion or preference before mounting or installing things. I was very happy with the whole experience.

This contractor deserves an A plus. Allen came to our home and put together an outline of what he thought needed to be done to meet our specific needs. All work done was well coordinated, clean, efficient, and completed according to schedule. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Allen arrived on the first day to go over the job with the crew. After the units were installed, they were tested for efficiency. It was decided that one of the air ducts needed to be re-routed for improved air flow and that was done immediately. The city signed off on our permits without comment. Insulation was then blown into our attic space. When all was complete, Allen returned to our home to inspect the job again and to answer any questions. We have had many contractors in our home and most try do as little as possible, but this contractor went out of their way to do the job right. All went smoothly. They left our home clean and we weren't left the job of throwing out their left over materials and boxes and packing.
Description of Work: Alps replaced and relocated heater to attic and added a new air conditioning unit. The old air ducts were removed and replaced with new ducts and all the air vents were replaced . Since the heater was moved to the attic, Alps installed a drop down ladder that we purchased so we now have easy access to the attic and they even installed a light fixture in the attic so we can see. Insulation was blown into the attic spaces.

Our experience with the Alps team was impressive from start to finish. We were very pleased with the information Alan provided to us at our first meeting. After we told him what we wanted he suggested several options of type and brand of equipment that would offer the energy savings and performance we wanted. After the first meeting, we received their proposal within two days. The proposal was very detailed and offered two options that would best fit our needs. The proposal listed a complete breakdown of work to be performed and equipment to be installed with a corresponding breakdown of the price for each option. We received two other bids from different contractors. After considering all the bids we chose the Alps proposal and we informed Alan at Alps that we wanted his company to provide the installation and equipment for our project. As expected, Alan responded the next day with a visit to measure our home so he could calculate the Manual J requirements for our system. The job was scheduled to start within two working days and the actual removal and replacement took two days. We had a brand new, fully functioning HVAC system at the end of the second day of work. There was a short follow-up visit to do what they called "the commissioning" which included an air flow test and a refrigerant pressure check. That was completed without incident. Alps scheduled for the city inspector to inspect the system and the installation. The inspection was completed and the permit signed with complete satisfaction of the inspector. We could not be happier with our new system. It performs just as Alan said it would. His crews showed up on time and went about their tasks in a professional and workmanlike manner. They were very careful, clean and respectful. I can, without reservation, recommend the Alps crew to any prospective customer seeking a good experience with the installation of a replacement HVAC system for their home.
Description of Work: Alps performed a removal and replacement of our heating and air conditioning system. The job included removal of all old duct work, the old furnace and the connected air handling system along with the cooling coil as well as the air conditioning condensor. The installed all new duct work, a new two stage, high efficiency Lennox furnace with new air handling system, a new cooling coil and a new high efficiency Lennox air conditioning condensor.

My wife and I purchased the home in October of last year. We of course knew the house didn't have AC, but it did have an older furnace. We assumed we could just add an AC and be done with it. Sure the quotes, looked great, some as low as 3500, but man oh man were we wrong. Our first winter had gas bills of $200 in Nov and Dec, with about $150 in Jan. We thought there was a gas leak, so we called the gas company and they pulled the prior bills from the previous owner. Normal we were told. So as it started to get warmer in May, the house would get to about 83 to 86 degrees. Not terrible, but sweaty hot. We decided to go for it and get new quotes. One person came out and quoted around 12k for a complete system, with less R-value ducting and less energy rated AC and heater, He mentioned the Flex Path rebates, and I started doing a lot of research. I then found rebates with So Cal Edison and So Cal Gas. In order for you to qualify for these rebates, you have to use an approved contractor from Flex Path and So Cal Edison. There was only 6 at the time that were on both websites. I then used Angie's list to see if they had any reviews and Alps was the best. I called and made an appointment for an estimate. I can't begin to tell you how impressed I was with our contact, Allen. He knew all the rebates for Flex Path, So Cal Edison and So Cal Gas. He went up into the attic and measured everything, performed a Manual J Load Calculation and determined the right size unit. He told me how to get the most rebates with the right investment. I chose to go with all new ductwork and the best possible system. He even added the blown in insulation through a vendor of his ($1800 for this) and I was able to use the Flex Path 2% APR finance offer as well. The actual HVAC decommission and installation was $12600. I did the $1800 insulation because there was nothing and I mean nothing in the attic. So... Allen took all the pre work pictures, pointed me in the right direction for all the rebate applications and even took the time to work in the Manual D for an additional $750 back from Edison. He offered to handle all the rebates, but with $5900 in rebates, I really wanted to do them myself. He took all the post work pictures, and submitted the final applications. So when all said and done, I have gotten a complete, top of the line, professionally, 2x certified, installed and balanced HVAC system with brand new insulation for $8676. You cannot beat that.I had about 10 quotes and no one knew all the rebates like Allen. No one offered the Manual D and only a couple actually offered the Manual J Load Calc. I would recommend Allen and his company to anyone. If you are looking to do an HVAC replacement or new system, you MUST call Allen. Ask about all the rebates and look at all your options. You may not have to get what we got, but our system was so bad, that we had to just do the whole thing. The warranty from Allen, the warranty from Amana, you just can’t beat it. Allen’s company has been doing this for over 30 years. I read reviews on all different types of systems and people love and hate the exact same units. Some people will say my system is horrible too. After everything I read, and believe me I read for two weeks before committing to a 12,600 investment, and it all comes down to the installer. I can show you 10 people that love Amana and 10 people that hate it. The installation is what makes or break the system. We have no wall insulation either and our home was built in 1956. The HVAC cools the home so quickly and quietly, it’s unreal. And! Our electric bill estimate has only climbed just under $40 bucks more and that is with the AC every day. Impressed beyond words.
Description of Work: Amana 3 Ton 18 SEER A/C Unit, Amana 95% 70,000 BTU Two Stage Variable Speed Furnace, ComfortNET remote programmable T-STAT with internet connectivity, electrical hookup, Primary and Secondary drain line w/drain pan and switch, A/C pad, disconnect, Whip, fuses. ALL NEW supply and return air ducts, R8 w/ Balancing Dampers (required to be less than 15% leakage), 12 filters, Hot Water Pipe Wrap, replace 3 light fixtures (i provided), permits and then sub contracted R30 blown in insulation with full corner and space insulation.

Great scheduling. Removed old air ducts and old heater/AC. installed new system and air ducting including new vents, installed additional vent to take care of poor area coverage. Insalled the wifi controls, checked out the system. After a few days of observation as to performance, came back to make final adjustments (No problem in follow-up adjustments). Great group of workers, very mindful of cleanliness and care of owner property, and great cleanup! Always mindful to wear booties both coming in and going out from exterior areas. Would highly recommend them.

My a/c blew out in 100 degree weather. After getting a wide range of estimates from big-name companies in the phone book, a friend referred me to Alps. They were very professional, their estimate was right in the middle of the pack, but their service was head and shoulders above the rest. There were no hidden fees, everything worked perfectly the first time, and they were able to offer financing for this unexpected expense.
