Arturo and his team provided clear and accurate free estimates for removal and stump grinding. I received bids from 3 other highly recommended providers, and Arturo's bid was midrange with the others. His professionalism and knowledge influenced my decision to hire Lopez Tree Service. They are highly professional- working around other contractors on site and cleaning up more than the debris from the tree service. They left our lot neater than when they arrived. The trees were located next to a newly shotcreted swimming pool and the roots were around drainage pipes. They were able to grind the stumps, despite the close proximity to drainage pipes and other water/gas lines. They brought heavy tarps to protect the partially constructed spa and pool. They were careful to not leave cuttings and debris in the neighbors' yards or adjacent association greenbelts. Arturo's knowledge as an Arborist was evident as he discussed the project and offered advice for future plantings. I HIGHLY recommend Lopez Tree Service.

They were by far the best. They gave a free estimate. My main like was Mr. Lopez himself. His attitude is really top customer service, all of that, and his price was also reasonable in my view.

A job well done, well explained and as neat as one could expect with tree trimming. These guys know trees! We had a small potted plant that was damaged because of a limb falling/equipment but we were compensated on the spot (deducted from our bill)...very professional!

This was the second time we used Lopez Tree Service and they did a wonderful job. They were on time and had a lot to do that day. They hit a bee hive on our property and took care of it immediately even though I think a couple of them got stung. We have a pepper tree that had not been trimmed in at least 7 years. We were gong to have it removed, but they said it was a great tree and with some trimming could look great. We are glad they suggested it and that we went with the great advice. We had olenaders removed and they ground up the stumps. We had a dead tree stump that was about 8 feet on our hillside that is on a downslope that cut way down. We had various trees that also needed to be trimmed or removed which they did a great job on. We will use them again for our upkeep on all our trees. Wonderful job!!! Thank you Arturo

From the quote to the completion, Arturo and his crew were very professional. They were very punctual, worked all day, got the job done and cleaned up. We had them remove 3 large junipers from a sloped back yard with very limited access. They also trimmed many other trees on the property including an orange, mock orange, Japanese maple, pepper tree, bottle brush, birch and several others. Arturo and all the workers did a very good job, will use them again as my large hillside yard will require lots of maintenance.

I had originally called Lopez Tree service because I was curious if I could get a couple of trees on a new property back under control. I also wanted a quote for full removal of the trees. Arturo was VERY knowledgeable in both the type of trees we had, and what would be best for them. My original plan wouldn't have been healthy for the tree and instead of just doing it and leaving, Arturo suggested other options, and even gave opinions of what else could be done in my yard in the future. We went with the full removal option and I had them cut down one Tangelo tree, and three pine/cyprus trees in the corner of my yard. I even asked if he could chop them in such a way to let me use the wood as firewood, he said no problem and did it no charge. Stumpground my stumps, and did an amazing clean-up job. They EVEN cleaned up the side of my yard that I had left leaf and windblown with debris cut weeds a couple weeks prior. As far as punctuality goes, Arturo was there when he said he would be for the quote. When I told him that I wanted to move forward with the project he told me he could get me in in just a couple of days, as he already had a project in a nearby neighborhood planned. All in all the experience was great. Knowledgeable, punctual, fair priced, quick and clean. You can't really ask for more than that. THANKS GUYS!

They did a great job removing two trees and several shrubs. They cleaned up really well and the end result was very nice. They even refunded us for some sprinklers that got slightly damaged.

This company gets an A+. From initial contact through completion of this job they were professional and thorough. Arturo listened very carefully to what we were trying to accomplish on our large property, and he made some excellent suggestions which we incorporated into the work order. He had a question about the best way to accomplish part of the tree removal so he returned with a senior member of the company to collaborate. He was anxious to accommodate our schedule for both the estimate and for the actual work. My husband wanted to be present to discuss the project when Arturo came initially. Since Saturday was the only day he was available for the meeting, Arturo happily set it up for a Saturday. On the day the work was scheduled, Arturo and his collaborator were both on scene to assure that everything was done in a timely, excellent manner. They arrived with an impressive collection of equipment and nine men to do the job. Each and every one of his employees worked diligently, carefully protecting our property as they worked. When the job was completed they carefully assured everything was cleaned up. We couldn't be more pleased with the work that was done. We feel like we got more than our money's worth. I realize the cost of service may seem high, but our property is large and was heavily overgrown. Hire this company, you won't regret it!

I got the name" Lopez Tree Service" from my brother-in-law, who is also a member of Angies List. I called Lopez Tree Service to get a bid to have two trees trimmed. I spoke with Arturo Lopez, the company owner, and he came to my home March 15,2014 to give me a proposal. I agreed to his price, and signed the contract to have the work done. He said he would call me with an exact date once he looked at his schedule for work being done in my area. I waited two weeks, and never heard back from him. I then called him back thinking he may have forgotten about me, and had to leave a message. I told him to please call me back so we could schedule a date, and that if he had changed his mind about doing the work to let me know so I could find someone else. I waited a few days more for a return call, but never got one. Arturo Lopez's professionalism is the worst, and quite frankly, I can't understand why the man would come to my home, write up a proposal, accept the job, and then totally ignore me. I would not recommed LOPEZ TREE SERVICE of Altadena to anyone, and how he got on to Angies List is a puzzle to me. I've just wasted three weeks with this company, and now I have to start over.

Arturo was extremely motivated and professional. He came out same day to take a look and gave me a bid on site. He was willing to work with me on the budget as well as my super tight schedule (gave me a small Angie's List discount, woo!). Lopez came out with 5 guys, on time at 7:15am on the dot. We walked the site to make sure we were both on the same page and started working about 7:45. Arturo even talked down an irate neighbor (understandably, chainsaws before 8:00am are not fun) and smoothed things over in an extremely calm and professional manner. They even ground down a couple extra stump remnants that were badly done by the city. They chipped, and cleaned the site and were done by 1:30pm. Amazing. I love them. Will be calling them for other jobs in the future.

They were really good. He came out and did the quote. Things that I thought I needed to do he said I didn't have to. He said it would kill the tree. He made sure they were on time and the service was great. I was able to get it done in a comparable time for a really great price. I had a family emergency and they were really nice about it and made sure everything was done.

The job went perfectly. The crew arrived on time, started immediately and finished quickly. It was as if the tree and work crew had never been there. This is the second time I've used Lopez Tree Service and I am beyond satisfied. As a side note, Arturo asked if I've had trouble with bees. Oddly enough, on three separate occasions, I've had large hives and thousands of very aggressive bees removed. He said the pepper tree was a big part of my "infestation." I sure wish the "Bee" experts had shared that bit of wisdom with me. Thanks again Arturo!

Arturo came out a week or so ago to give us a bid after finding him on Angieslist. He was very knowledgeable about the types of trees, when to cut them, and how much to cut them. After advising him that we would use him, Arturo promptly scheduled a date that also fit my schedule. Today his crew arrived right on time and were extremely professional. The trees look incredible and the best part was how clean they left my property. I was happy to hear that the company is licensed, insured, and carries workers compensation on their crew. I would highly recommend Lopez Tree Service. Looking forward to doing business with them again in the future.

Very pleased with the work that was done. A consultation visit was done and thorough estimate given. The actual removal was scheduled and completed on time and without any issues. Will utilize Lopez Tree Service again and recommend their work highly!

The entire crew was very professional and diligent and careful in trimming and shaping the trees and digging out the dead ones without damaging sprinklers or outdoor light lines. They also swept up all the other fallen debris and blew the grounds clean. The only minor problem was scheduling the original date to do the work (understandably due to things that came up for the company during the holidays), but Arturo (co-owner) was very professional in following up with multiple phone calls near and on the day of the work to accomodate my own schedule on that date. A big plus too was that his bid was very reasonable compared to others and he also gave me an Angie's list discount!

I called Arturo two months ago to come out to our home and give us an estimate on two separate tree removal jobs we needed done. On both, he was the only contractor who told us he wouldn't recommend digging out the stumps after the trees were removed because it could damage our driveway and retaining wall. He said it would be a waste of money to even try. Honesty! It was so refreshing. We finally decided to tackle one of the removal projects last week and couldn't be happier with Arturo's service. He honored the estimate he gave us back in November, made scheduling very easy, and even showed up a few minutes earlier than the time he said he'd arrive. He and his crew were respectful of our property (and our neighbors' property), took down the trees quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up behind themselves beautifully. Total professionals. I recommend Lopez Tree Removal to anyone looking for tree service and plan to use them again on a much larger project when the time is right.

From the estimate to the execution of the job, these guys were nothing but professional, upbeat, and willing to educate us. We have some tall trees and the team cut ten efficiently and did a great job on clean up. I highly recommend them and will be using them again in the future.
