He arrived promptly in the morning as promised, removed the old softener, did extensive plumbing work replacing and adding copper tubing and installed the new water softener. He also came by two days later as we had called him with questions regarding programming the new softener with no additional charge. We will be using Daniel again soon to install a ceiling fan in our breakfast nook.
Description of Work: Daniel replaced an older existing water softener with one we had purchased. That day Daniel also installed an expansion tank on our water heater.

+ 3 moreDaniel worked with me every step of the way and told me how we could get the things done with the budget I had to work with. He made great suggestions and helped me save money by offering alternative solutions to thing I wanted to see done. His crew were clean, friendly, polite, and punctual. There were a few unforeseen snags that happen during the project that he could have charged me more for but he helped me work around them and didnt add a bunch of money to our contract. The finished yard went far above my expectations! I highly recommend DCL! Daniel is honest and hardworking!
Description of Work: I called Daniel on a very fixed budget, I wanted irrigation in the front and back yard and sod laid. Other landscapers laughed at me when I told them how much I had to spend and what I wanted done.DCL Ordered the top soil for me, ran irrigation, laid the sod, added new facets, installed all the plants I purchased (including a tree), brought in all my rock and bark, installed a fertilizer system, and set up all my drip lines (including education me on how everything worked, and how to add/remove drip lines).

Description of Work: Daniel had successfully completed two hardscape projects for us in 2008 which included drainage, constructing keystone walls/planters, sprinkler repairs. Daniel recently completed another large project in our front yard in which Daniel suggested a low maintenance/low water design. This included tear out of existing landscape, tying in with the existing drainage, installation of a drip irrigation system, selection and placement of large rocks and top soil to update and enhance the appearance of the front yard.

He is a very dedicated professional who will honestly tell you if your proposals are good. If not, he will suggest alternatives. He is trustworthy, honest and I feel comfortable leaving him alone to work on his own with confidence. He is completely responsible.

Then took over a week for a company rep to view property and provide an estimate after pushing for a response. We finally settled on a date and price near the end of the month and the company rep did not show up!! When I phoned in to ask what happened the owner stated his sub-contractor didn't show and it wasn't his fault. This is not an A grade company.
Description of Work: Services not performed despite repeated attempts and contacts with the company owner.

We had used Daniel's services last year for the same construction on the other side of our house and wanted him to repeat the process but with a more "artistic" concept since this area is visible from our patio. Daniel is always on time, has excellent suggestions and gives great value for his services.
Description of Work: Daniel leveled a small side yard, built three large keystone planters, arranged sloped drainage for water, haul in river rock for a pathway and built a cedar fence enclosure for trash cans.

He arrives when he says he is going to arrive, works quickly and efficiently, and lets you know if the project will require him to spend time leaving the job to buy parts. He is paid by the hour so being time-conscious is important. Daniel is very pleasant to talk to. He listens and makes suggestions on the best and most cost-efficient method to solve the problem. In some cases I have bought the parts and in some cases he has done so; so he is very flexible. His price estimates have always been correct.
Description of Work: DCL, Daniel's Construction & Landscaping, has done extensive work for me over the past year. Daniel McDougal is the owner and person who performs the work. He has re-worked my irrigation system for me, installing new valves, tubing, sprayers, etc. He also created an inexpensive and effective way of draining water out of a window gutter of my house. This method was much better and cheaper than several other quotes I received. Daniel installed all of the lighting in the front yard which included about 40 lights and 3 power converters with timers. He has also done some minor electric work in the house for me installing a 3-way switch and some other sockets. He told me he can also install instant hot water heaters.
