Description of Work: Nana is an interior designer. She assured us she knows building code, NOT, she designed our kitchen but neglected to use spacers between certain cabinets so they do not open properly. Nana brought in a contractor whose work was a mess and his way of compensating was to shoot caulk and that created a further mess. She never once owned her errors nor Raul's. We had to replace some cabinetry he ruined. He drilled holes in our costly range hood which nullified its warranty. Use her for decor, require all original bills and agree upon a % fee for her. Hire an architect, too, her drawings were not accurate for the contractors. She also was happy having lights installed by the electrician and then calling him to move them, without my permission and at further cost to me. Sum is to beware. She can create a pretty room but no more. She also caused delays with inaccurate flooring orders by not advising the store of the patterns she wanted laid and took extra cutting of materials.

She came across as very professional and nice in the beginning. Her designs for the project looked good and she brought her own work crew so the project started right away. And then the problems began... 1) Her initial invoice which was supposed to be the quote for the entire project turned out to only be about 40% of the true cost. She left things off the invoice and then would spring extra expenses on us. 2) Her designs looked nice but none were dimensionally accurate. So while the drawing had 3 columns in the entryway, we noticed the work crew was only building 2. After chasing her down she said that it turns out there wasn't enough space for 3, and rather than tell us and discuss the design she just went ahead and made 2. This is only the tip of the iceburg on all the changes that she would make behind our backs. 3) Her prices for everything were extremely padded. I found this out when halfway through the project I decided to get a second quote for our new salt water pool system. Her price had been DOUBLE what another company quoted me. After that point I began to question all the prices and would get second opinions and would find out that her price gauging was OUT OF CONTROL. At this point I simply finished the items that she was midway through and then found new people to complete the project. What. A. Headache. She found a way to blame her crew whenever I would point out the padded prices, but she was the one in charge of pricing and after the fact her guys came clean about how much she would increase their quotes. 4) Any items purchased through her (doors, windows, furniture, flooring, etc) did not come with warranties or any proper documentation form the manufacturers. I continued to ask for these warranties and purchase orders in case something goes wrong down the line -- she continued to give me the run around, I think because she didn't want me to see how much I had been overcharged, and to this day I still have no warranties on anything. 5) As the problems piled up she became increasingly pushy and inappropriate. She would show up with new venders even after I explicitly told her that I would not purchase anything else through her. I honestly have never had to deal with such a dishonest person in my entire life. When I think of how much money I wasted it makes me feel sick inside. She finally left the job, never to return. Her crew was still here and we found out that she wasn't even paying them what she said she would. She would pressure me to give her big checks since "the crew needs to be paid today" and then it turns out that she wouldn't pay them for weeks and then not the full amount. Once she left and we wanted to continue working with the crew, he told us that she still owed him $8k, so now we are paying him a portion of that money (double paying) because he did the work and should be paid for it. If you value your money, your home and your sanity DO NOT WORK WITH NANA KUCHEKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
