Welcome to Hometelligent, the place where contemporary 21st century design meets a 19th century work ethic. Hometelligent is the offspring of a merger between Dobrovat & Company and Teir One, two companies that have a long history of service throughout the greater Bay Area. Since its incorporation, Hometelligent has grown into a multifaceted organization that is committed to providing a broad range of services through an established network of partners and affiliates.
Hometelligent is built on the foundational ideal of a tenacious work ethic and is framed with the contemporary vision of innovative design. Carrying over 75 years of collective experience among the supervisorial crew, Hometelligent can deliver what many companies today are not able to even offer: creative craftsmanship and honest hard work, all in one package.
We originally hired Silvio to resurface the roof to our 80 year old house and replace some windows and fix some dry rot found during the home inspection (this is several years after purchasing the house). It turned out that there was extensive dry rot, which was found over the course of a couple of months during the summer by removing stucco piecemeal, and the costs started spiraling out of control. Scaffolding was set up, and about 3/4 of the stucco was removed. Silvio's workers replaced dryrotted joists, replaced several windows (the previous owner's contractor had flashed windows improperly, which left standing water under the window frames). We had had some leaking during heavy rain in the rear kitchen and the living room. Although the source of the leaks were not precisely identified, there was clearly water intrusion beneath the windows and parapet caps. Most of the dryrotted wood was replaced, although a few hard-to-access joists were given anti-fungal treatment and sistered. The downspouts were replaced with a more efficient system, and the parapet was capped with galvanized metal. Where things were open up, Silvio had insulation and shearwall installed. We had had some issues with water under the house during heavy rain as well. Silvio drew up plans for reinforcing the back foundation and creating new drainage to deal with this. Silvio's lead worker Chris also did extensive small jobs for us as things cropped up, such as installing railings, fixing some pipes, and fixings some crooked doors. All told, we were happy with Silvio's work and level of professionalism of him and his subcontractors, given the circumstances. There were a few minor issues with workers which he dealt with rapidly. He was easily reachable by text or phone, and would usually respond almost immediately. We had a bit of a snafu with the permit taking a long time to be issued, which Silvio could have been a bit more proactive about. But for the most part we were happy with his recommendations and work, and we plan to hire him again to do more remodeling if we get the resources.
