Mike, the owner came to our home and met with us twice regarding getting new windows for our kitchen and bathroom. His attitude was great and very professional. He was punctual for our meetings and clear about what work was to be done. He was not pushy, very amicable, and clearly explained our options. Once we made the decision to go forward, he made a very clear contract, which included a detailed diagram. There was no uncertainty about the work to be done. He took a 10% deposit, which I thought was extremely generous. Then, the day of the job, his crew showed up, and reflected Mike's professionalism. They were punctual, very clean, and efficient. All of them kept things very tidy and did a phenomenal job of cleaning up. The windows were installed very well. We are very happy with the work and are enjoying a much cooler house. They got all the work done in a day as earlier agreed. I would highly recommend this company. I was impressed from beginning to end.

They were efficient, effective, there terrific communication with the owner (Mike) who was on site during a majority of the project, and they offered an amazing price.

I'm very impressed with Mike at US Windows. He's very honest and very helpful. He came by to look at a window replacement job in my place which is an older building. I told him what I was hoping to accomplish and he asked me a few follow-up questions. And he said you know, I just don't sell the product that I think will work best for you...let me recommend a few people who do sell that product. Amazing! And he sat with me for another few minutes and told me about the types of windows that he would install in my house if he were in my shoes. I feel bad that I can't give him my business. But hopefully this recommendation will encourage others to give him their business. I think you'll be in good hands.

Mike came back to take the final measurements for the fabrication and discussed some details and took some changes we made. He said Milgard will take about 4 weeks and this is how long it took. He also said he should have his crew install the 21 windows in 2 and a half days and this is how long it took. He said it would be turnkey and it was. The crew was very polite and professional. They were punctual, clean and efficient. The bit of rain did not stop them from being on time. They kept the spirit high would dry every area they would use. Mike made multiple stops to check the work along the way. The place was left spotless and practically without any touch ups to do.. The permit was pulled and passed with no problem. We now appreciate greatly our new warm and sound proof house. Also we are getting a tax break. I could not praise enough the work that was done and all the good advises that were given to us from the beginning.

Mike and team did a great job, were very courteous, professional and helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to have windows replaced.

They got the job done in a day. We didn't have to have any other contact with them.

First of all, we appreciated the lowkey, softer sell approach of the owner, Mike, compared with some of his competitors. His experience, very positive reviews, knowledge shared, prompt responsiveness to questions, and price all made us feel very comfortable choosing his company to perform the work. The company took care of getting the permit, which was nice because of some questions about one bedroom window meeting egress requirements. The workers took a little over 2 1/2 days to do the work. The work seems fine and all in order. The work took a little longer because of the dry rot under the old patio door, which was somewhat challenging to work on, we gather, because of the placement of our outdoor deck up against the patio door opening. The workers were professional and friendly and enjoyable to talk with. The only negative was that our new backyard lawn was somewhat worse for wear. Mike, the owner had expressed some reservations about doing installation after a new lawn was put in, but we consulted with our landscaper who said as long as it was after a month, it should be fine. In fact it was more like 6 weeks after the sod was installed, so we figured we were safe (and we needed to get the garden plot areas overhauled before the season got too late). Probably a combination of the foot traffic and heavy equipment and window/door products placed on lawn along with the need to stop watering during this time (so as to keep the equipment and materials left outside overnight dry), plus subsequent work done to replace our fences two weeks hence, collectively caused the degradation. The good news is that the lawn has mostly recovered except in the area around the gate. So just a cautionary note to others planning new lawns and new windows (and fences!) at the same time. We hadn't counted on having to cut off watering, so we hadn't watered just prior to the work being done, and we underestimated the impact of heavy equipment and product being dragged around and placed on the lawn. However, overall, we are very pleased with the work and would highly recommend Mike and U.S. Window Renewal to anyone.

Everything did not go well. We scheduled the appointment a day in advance. The gentleman informed me that he would already be in my area today so 3:00 would work out. When he was a half hour late, I called him. He became very rude with me and told me that I was bothering him while he was at another job and that he didn't want to to business with me.

They also fixed some window panels. It was a pretty hectic job. They were very professional. We had a very good interaction with Mike, the owner of the company. He impressed as being the most knowledgeable person. He worked very hard to keep the cost down. The workmen knew exactly what they were doing. They were reasonably priced too. I had to call them back once after there was a minor problem. They were on time overall. I have recommended them to a neighbor too.

We got a rebate on our taxes. They were very helpful and they worked very quickly so that we didn?t have empty window spaces for very long at all. They explained to us how the rebate worked which we didn?t quite understand before. All together, we don?t have any problem with them. I didn?t think they were cheap but if they had done this well and also been a little less expensive, that would have been great. They didn?t cleanup the way they were supposed to. I?m not terribly upset about it but it wasn?t stellar.v

Mike, the President, CEO came to speak with me himself. He explained to me about the different types of windows and received three other estimates. I felt the chemistry was good between us and he gave me the best price. When the windows were ready to be installed, he had 3 of his workers come by that day. The three workers were very professional, productive, polite, detail oriented and very experienced and they cleaned up after themselves every night and left my house spotless every night. The installation only took two days and washed all the windows inside and out and they look great. I would highly recommend U.S. Window Renewal. Inc. I have been in the design business for over 37 years and I am extremely picky and I am very detailed oriented. They passed my standards and that's not easy.

When we decided to replace the windows in our house, we contacted a number of different companies. We didn't get a very good feeling about most of them(some didn't seem to know the Berkeley requirements, some weren't willing to get the building permits for us or they were going to charge an exorbitant fee for this and some were pushing brands that we never heard of). They also had very "slick" presentations that we didnt trust. When we called Mike Castricone of US Window Renewal, he answered the phone himself, agreed to come over the next day and was extremely prompt. He was very down to earth and personable. He seemed to know all of the regulations and gave us advice that indicated he had our interests at heart. He took the measurements right then, and pointed out a few regulations that we were unaware. of. One day later he e-mailed his bid to us and we were pleased to see that his price was near the low end of the other bids. After a few days we called him to give him the job. He came back the next day to take final measurements, and told us that it would take about 4 weeks for the windows to be delivered. Just about 4 weeks later he called to tell us that the windows were in and we arranged to do the job the next Tuesday. His crew showed up on time on Tuesday and were done midday Wednesday. His crew was terrific. There were three of them, each one having his own specialty. They were extremely personable, and their work was perfect. We were very pleased with everything they did. It even starting raining at one point but that didnt slow them down at all. Then Mike came over with the approved permit and said that he wanted to be here when the building inspection was done. Our experience with Mike and US Window was the best we have ever had with a contractor.

It turned out really well. They did a very good job. Their salesman did a great job of explaining everything and answering all of my questions, as well as giving me all of my options. The bid was very good and they did the work quickly. They were quite professional, and did all of the permits for me as well. I was quite impressed with their work.

I started talking to Mike a year ago about replacing my windows. When I called him and told him I was ready to go, he quickly arranged to come out, wrote up the order and said it would be about 3 weeks. The windows came in as promised and Mike and his crew completed the entire project in one day. Everything I asked for, which included extra sound proofing and pet screens, was done perfectly. The crew was courteous and conscientious, checked their work, and cleaned up, leaving no mess behind. They arrived when they promised and were done by at the end of the day, with no problems. Mike & his team did a fantastic job. Interviewed 8 window contractors and Mike was the most knowledgeable without being too "salesy". Took the time to explain our options, coming back several times to show us samples and to assure us we wouldn't loose a lot of window space vs. frame. His team was extremely professional, punctual, worked quickly and neatly and teamed really well with each other. When I needed to make a decision, they always gave me options and time to think about my options. Their communication was excellent - when we had questions, they would provide answers or relayed our questions to Mike. We have an old house so not everything is standard size and often doors are not level, but nothing fazed them. They were a pleasure to work with and have in our house. From the outset, everything about this project was on-time - from the lead time to ordering the windows to the installation. The delivery could not have been smoother.Again, an example of the people Mike works with. Once the project started, Mike's team arrived on-time everyday, worked hard and cleaned up when they finished. They were truly a pleasure to have around.

I can't say enough about them. Their salesman, Terry, wasn't pushy, and worked with us in choosing materials and styles to make things most cost effective. Their pricing was competitive and, when it came time to install the windows, owner Mike and his crew were here early and finished within a day. While on site, Mike & company were extremely professional and left my home cleaner than when they'd arrived. And while it wasn't in the contract, they painted a part of the house that had been exposed (because the old windows were wider than the new windows) that would have been very difficult for me to access. The windows and the workmanship look great, the house is warmer, and quieter. This experience was among the best I've had with a contractor and I've no qualms about recommending US Window Renewal.

The entire process went very well. Couple of meetings with the sales person to go over the details of the bid. This was followed with a meeting for the measurements and the details of all the windows. Ten days after that the windows were ready and the work started. The work took a few additional days due to some additional unanticipated work. Everyday the entire area was cleaned very well.

They were pretty good and knowledgeable. They came out and did what they said they would do.

The gentleman that came out gave us very informative information. He told us we didn't need the most expensive work or product. He tried to keep it in our budget but still helped us pick out what we want. He went ahead and got the permit to use windows without the grids in our older home.

The whole process was terrific, from start to finish. The salesperson, Terry, answered all my questions thoroughly and made sure all the details were clear. Mike then came to make final measurements and drawings. Once the windows were ready, the crew came out and worked efficiently. They were really nice guys, considerate and professional, and they made sure to protect our floors and to clean up well after themselves.

Mike was really professional and super courteous and worked his magic to push the order quickly, via his contact at Milgaard, so that we could get the installation done before leaving on vacation. We had gotten 2 other estimates, including one from Renewal; USW came in a little higher than we were hoping, but without the pushy sales pressure. He was also knowledgeable about SF building codes by suggesting tempered glass in 2 of the windows (and probably saved us from having to replace them in the future when we install a door in between them). His crew was also really nice and worked really hard on the 4 coldest days in SF (though we did have to keep asking them to keep the doors closed). Only issue: One of the windows had a slight cosmetic defect; Mike said that Milgaard would follow up but I haven't heard from them. But otherwise, the house is drastically quieter, and no more drafts; totally worth the $$$$.

The owner, Mike, and his sales manager, Terry, were very nice and professional. No pushing (which we had experienced with others). We had bids from 3 other firms and chose US Windows because the price was reasonable. Even more important to me was the recommendation that we not use the double hung window in this particular brand because as they are currently designed they stick out beyond the plane of the house and look odd. Another firm gave us a quote on the same brand but did not mention this -- I would have been horrified if that is what had been installed. There was a glitch in the window grids not being correct, but this is being rectified; hence the reason we are waiting for the additional 5 for installation. However, I have no doubt this will go as smoothly as the first 2/3. Additionally, the crew was great, very considerate, and knew what they were doing. My husband was home and usually would be following them around, but felt confident enough to stay downstairs.

They did the job quickly. They were very respectful and did the job quietly so we didn't have to shut down our business while they were working. The windows are absolutely gorgeous. They were really clean and didn't leave a mess.

We had used the company previously to replace about 12 1937 era steel windows with fiberglass. We had gotten 3 contractors to give us bids. Only two returned bids and US Window Renewal were quite a bit lower. We were very satisfied with their performance on this difficult job and hired them again to replace our remaining windows. We got a bid from another window contractor and US Window Renewal again came in with a lower price. Their sales guy, Terry and the owner, Mike always showed up on time to their appointments to give us a bid and to measure the windows. All calls were either answered or returned the same day. The replacement went quickly, less than two days. We did not need to be around during the work. Mike, the owner, is always on the work site. They cleaned up afterward completely. Any problems with the manufactured window was immediately followed up with by their call to the manufacturer. Definitely would hire them again.

FANTASTIC!! Mike Castricone at US Window Renewal and his crew replaced 17 windows at my house. Mike advised me on design issues, and trimmed all the windows out on the exterior so they all matched (I had a variety of wood and aluminum replace with different trims). He was the most reasonable of various contractors who bid, and was also by far the most responsive. And because I had the work done while I was away for a year, we made all the arrangements long-distance (via phone and email) to boot! Sometimes from Europe! In the last couple of years, I have had major remodeling done on my home and Mike is one of the most conscientious contractors I have come across. His kind of dedication is not easy to find.
