Working with them was straightforward, if slightly brusque, and slightly lacking in professionalism. The over-the-phone quote and logistics with Barry were calm and straightforward, although it took a little prodding for the written quote to come through. The movers showed up on time with the right number of people. They worked efficiently, and got the whole job significantly faster than our last movers. The pricing was a based on number of items rather than time. In the end it turned out we had significantly more items than we or they had managed to count. Beyond the furniture, something like 300 boxes and miscellaneous items (bundled sets of skis, and that kind of thing), which I gather is not typical for a 3bd house (more like 100-200). That pushed the pricing beyond even the highest quote they had given us, but I think it was a fair, if not excellent, price. They used blankets and wrap, but only after they had gotten items into the truck. That's different from how I've seen it done before where blankets are put on immediately before the furniture is moved, to protect it and the walls during carrying out of the house. I asked them specifically to do the blankets first, and they said yes, and that it wouldn't cost more. But they didn't actually do it. Of the guys they used, I would say one was fairly experienced and had good instincts about what/how/when to do things, and the others were much less so. The guy apparently running the crew was not the experienced one, perhaps that was his training. So I would guess that they had a greater chance of damaging things than a top-notch company, but we got lucky and there was only one clear bit of damage, ripped fabric. For that we agreed to a small compensation outside the contract. The net is that I would consider using them again, but I'd be better prepared with my own counting so that the quote would be more realistic.

Strong Young Movers did not respond to my email inquiry. perhaps my job is too small for them.

They were very good and I would highly rate the experience. I would certainly use them again should the need arise.

Their service was fast and excellent. They were also professional, clean, and very friendly.

I made an arrangement for our move with Barry, who was very responsive and courteous, less than a week before our proposed move. The Strong Young Movers was not the cheapest, but the quoted amount was based on the total job, not on number of hours or guys. So what he quoted was what we would pay, no matter how long it takes. Three guys showed up right on time on the arranged date. They did a walk-around to make sure they knew what to move. They responded to our request for additional furniture and stop with a very professional manner. They were also very attentive to our need for extra care in moving our monstorous 58" plasma TV and other A/V equipment. The job was done professionally, and they were very pleasant to deal with. I should mention the driving skill was extraordinary:they maneuvered very narrow storage area very well. We paid more than the quoted amount, because of the additional furniture and stop. This was perfectly acceptable. In the end, nothing was broken or damaged in any way, and all heavy items are in the place we specified in a very small apartment. The job was done in 3 hours, even with the additional stop at the storage. They are as advertised - young and strong. We couldn't have done our move without them.

These folks were easy to reach, professional and reasonably priced. They quoted 3 hours over the phone, but everyone was so helpful and skippy that the guys got it done in just 2 hours and saved me about $100. They were careful with my stuff and really quite fun to be around! Who knew moving could be so easy and painless?!

I do my homework before hiring help! I called for lots of quotes, did a lot research, and I found rave reviews for Strong Young Movers online, even though they were not listed on Angie's List. Strong Young Movers has an informative website, so I felt good about calling them. I had other recommended companies make my call list, but Strong Young Movers came in with the most competitive quote and was able to accommodate us on our preferred time, so I booked them with Barry for our big move to Lake Merritt. Strong Young Movers offered a fixed price quote, but given how much stuff my husband and I have, we opted for the hourly rate. We were quoted $95 for 3 men and a truck, $120 for 4 men and a truck. We ended up using for the latter. Diego and his crew arrived a few minutes late, but did not disappoint. My husband and I have a lot of stuff, and the crew was hardworking, professional, careful and efficient. They are really nice guys and were very respectful with us and our stuff. My husband was especially impressed with how carefully handled his beloved A/V equipment and furniture. I was very impressed by how well they communicated with us and how professional and clearly experienced they are. They earned our respect. We had our most successful move to date and we really loved working with these guys - totally recommended!
