Contacted Cal Tile as a result of Angie's List recommendations and the owner/manager visited our home a day later and provided a written estimate, which we accepted. The work was completed with a week of our initial contact. it was done in a professional and satisfactory manner, including clean-up and removal of the old flooring materials. It was a totally positive experience.
Description of Work: Lalo laid and grouted a ceramic tile floor for our dining room area..

The people were very friendly and great at giving advice to a tile newbie. When I asked how to do something different (like cutting holes in the tile to let the shower head pass through) they were quick to pull out the tool that should be used. They did give me a hard time for renting the tile saw three weekends to finish one bathroom, but there is nothing wrong with a little good-natured ribbing.
Description of Work: We used Cal Tile to provide the tile, give advice and show design options to re-tile the floor and shower enclosure for a bathroom remodel. They have lots of layout samples for tile hanging on the walls and they let us take home a couple to see which we liked best in our lighting. I also rented the tile saw which was great.

Description of Work: stopped by the store on Park Avenue and was told to call "Chito" for an estimate; i called him and we set an appointment for him to look at the kitchen floor in as yet unoccupied condo i recently purchased (and have not moved into yet) that i was thinking about having tiled; i showed up at the agreed time but Chito didn't; got him on the phone as i sat in my car waiting and he told me "a shipment" came in he had to deal with, and that we could reschedule; probably spared myself a lot of anxiety by finding out up front that this is their idea of service, and went shopping elsewhere.

The kitchen was completed 3 1/2 years ago but I still hadn't chosen a backsplash. Driving by Cal Tile one day I decided to stop and check out their tile selection. They had a HUGE selection and variety of tile; one of the best I've seen in this area and so large it was a little overwhelming. The owner Calvin pointed out that they had a designer available to assist in designing and selecting tile: it's a $75 charge which then gets applied to tile purchase if it's over a certain amount. Janet the designer came to my house, looked at the other fixtures in the kitchen, looked at our style and came up with several suggestions. We fell in love with a few of her suggestions and (after several rounds of design and quot;tweakingand quot;) agreed on the tiles and design. The tiles were special ordered from Japan: took 6 weeks or so to come in. Installation finally done in July. Mario showed up ON TIME, took one day to quick-set the tile in place, then returned to grout and do finish work. He was very careful to keep tiles in line, matching level lines, finished edges, cleaned up thoroughly, even attached all the electrical outlet covers. I'm waiting for the final work to be done by another artisan (copper panels to be placed inside the expanse of tiles) and I'll take a picture of the final effect when done. It looks fabulous! I'm really pleased.
Description of Work: Cal Tile has a designer on staff who helped me lay out a plan for new kitchen backsplash. Based on her design I purchased ceramic/copper tile. Their installer installed the tiles

The experience was very good. They have an extensive showroom and they have a great selection of tile. The price wasn't cheap.
Description of Work: I used Cal Tile to put floor tile in my downstairs area. I bought the tile and they laid it.
