STUART ROSE HEATING & A/C

Stuart Rose did an excellent job on what could have been a very disruptive project. The old furnace in our basement had to be disassembled and removed. The crew did it quickly and neatly disposed of everything. The new unit was installed and running perfectly just before the cold weather set in.

I am a commercial/residential property manager, and Stuart Rose & Heating is by far one of the most responsive AC companies I have every had the pleasure to work with. Starting with Hillary who was so on top of our appointments, and explaining tech work, etc- even to getting the right number to call when tech was on their way (trust me, small detail but saves so much time). The service was in depth, quality service. Technician is not on a rush to get onto the next job- which is always the case with service calls. They are there to perform the work, and make sure that it is done correctly. I would highly recommend them and their team of professionals.

Mark was very thorough and checked all of the systems carefully. I’ve had this company do the maintenance many times. I will continue to call them when service is due.

Danny from Stuart Rose arrived on time, was efficient and very nice. He was obviously good at his job and we are very pleased with the service. Our air filters were filthy from the fire and really needed to be changed. He showed me the old ones and compared them to the new ones. What a difference!

Tracy came out to do an estimate and was my point of contact throughout the experience. Mike and several different workers came out to demo the old and install the new. Mike and the guys were on time, professional and did a great and thourough job. Mike kept me informed and gave me options when the situation called for it. There was only one miscommunication between Tracy and the shop which was easily resolved with a phone call although it did add half a day to the job.

The company did an excellent job. Very professional and the quality of the work was top notch. Would definitely recommend Stuart Rose and would use them again.

The technician was patient and resourceful - applying his experience with the older furnace technology to hunt down and eliminate the problem. Although the job required multiple visits, I was charged only one "truck fee" plus the cost of replacement parts.

I recently, like today, had a very bad experience with this company. I have known Stuart Rose Heating and Air for over 30 years. Always had good service etc. however that seems to be over. I have had a service agreement with them for all these years and on Aug.6th they were here for normal maintenance service. They checked the furnace and thermostats and changed the filter. They did not go on the roof to check the air conditioning unit which was always part of the service.. Now 6 weeks latter no cool air from unit. If I want service I will need to pay for two men and wait 9 days. This does not make sense to me. The lady representing the company on the phone was in my opinion very unprofessional . Her answer to me was "we will take you off our list of customers". No one in charge, manger or owner was available and 30 plus years of loyalty met absolutely nothing. Not the same company I did business with all those years. I would be very surprised if the owner or any of the managers contacted me to explain what happened.

The serviceman was on time, diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it immediately. He was very professional and courteous - no complaints whatsoever.

This is a review retroactive to my Angie's List membership...I just wanted to give credit to a really good company that came out last year when my A/C went out. They came out immediately and told me a just needed an inexpensive little part (it was a fuse or something). I've been ripped off so many times by unscrupulous repair people and was so grateful for the honesty, responsiveness and professionalism.

Called for an estimate and they charge for that. Won't pay just to get an estimate.

All went well... he had the parts on the truck, diagnosed and fixed problem in a matter on an hour or so. Decent prices, good work, and prompt.

My heater (which is ancient) hat started to turn itself on even though thermostat said it was switched off. I feared the worst: complete replacement of HVAC unit. Called Stuart Rose late that afternoon and got appointment the next day. Repairman showed up on time next morning. Heater was inspected and filter changed. Thermostat was looked at and showed some corrosion some of which was scraped off. Very professional, courteous repairman who answered all my questions (and I had quite a few). I was well impressed with the service. Long story short: Everything works again I think what I appreciated most of all was that I wasn't pushed to trash this heater and buy a new. In due course the thermostat will need to be replaced and some day the HVAC system will need to be replaced. Based on the service I received it is pretty much a given that when the time comes I will turn to this company again.

On a very hot day of a very hot week, they came out right away, fixed my a/c in 15 minutes and only charged me for the service call. That's pretty good service.

74yr old house with no attic or crawl spaces has newer Mitsubishi heat pumps with no ducts, three outdoor units and seven indoor units which were due for yearly service and tune-up. Very personable technician showed up on time and promptly took care of business. He made a few suggestions as to how I could improve the performance of the heating and air conditioning.

Arrived on time, did heater check and installed new filter. Also, went out and installed a screen on top of AC to keep out leaves, etc. Everything professionally done to my satisfaction.

Just to provide a contrast to the "everything is rosy" image about this company, I feel obliged to add this comment. Back in late 2000 there was a scare about furnaces made by Consolidated Industries, so I had a friendly general contractor have a look at ours. They were OK, being made by Lennox, but he noticed what he thought was excessive flame in one of the combustion chambers. On his recommendation I contacted a Lennox dealer, Stuart Rose, for an expert opinion. For $59 a technician reported that "furnace does not vent correctly through the heat exchanger. Furnace should be replaced". He told us verbally that it was leaking carbon monoxide into the house and for our safety he unplugged it. So, we were saved in the nick of time. A contractor came around and gave us an estimate for $3000 to replace the dangerous furnace. Being someone who likes second opinions, I called another Lennox dealer. His inspection found that one of the flames was too high, and he adjusted it - it was fixed. When we told him that another company had given us a very different recommendation, he told us to get the Gas Company to do an independent inspection. He was professional enough to only say that perhaps the first technician "lacked experience". When the Gas Company inspector came he pronounced both of our furnaces to be not only safe, but in good condition. Frightened by the Rose technician's theatrics, I bought two carbon monoxide detectors. Years later, all is still well. Now this could have been an inexperienced tech, or an experienced one well coached in extracting money from customers, I don't know. I sent them a detailed letter, describing the experience and expressing my dismay. I heard nothing from them.

They were reliable. They did a good job. They came quickly. I would use them again.

They have supplied and installed all of our water heating units. As well as anything to do with the heating and air conditioning. They are reliable. They are knowledgable. They are professional. They clean up when they are done with their work. They show up on time and stay on schedule. I would say their prices are above average. I would use them in the future.

Houston and Mike have been doing the maintenance and repairs on my system now for a long time. Houston came this time for the maintenance visit. Both men have been extremely punctual ( and it's a long trip for them) and professional. They are friendly and always take the time to answer my many questions. I have been very satisfied with the quality of their work and have also been pleased with the courtesy and help I always receive from the office staff.

Installed the right equipment as proposed and done on time.

They did what they said they were going to do. They showed up on time to do the work. They were very courteous when they were there working. They cleaned up everything when they were done working.

I thought the guy was very professional. The clean up he did after the installation was very good. I did discover afterwards, though, that he forgot to connect something. For that reason, I cannot give him a higher rating than I did. He did, however, come back right away to correct the problem.

We are very happy with the service he provides us. We have not had any trouble with the air conditioning unit since the installation and every time they show up to do the summarizing or winterizing they do it very quickly and never make any type of mess.

STUART ROSE IS A GREAT COMPANY. I ALWAYS GET THE APPOINTMENT TIME I REQUEST, AND I NEVER HAVE TO WAIT AT HOME BETWEEN SO MANY HOURS TO WAIT FOR A TECHNICIAN.
