The work was all spread out over a couple of months. They were excellent, very good. They have an excellent laminate flooring installer. We are very happy with the job they did. I don't like the way they handled their paper work They have some kind of screwball accounting scheme. They say they are getting their act together. We had a little problem with accounting, but their installation work was good.

I contacted 8 flooring companies. Aside from a very favorable recommendation from a friend who is the president of a HOA, I chose Leader because they were responsive, acted like they wanted the business without being overbearing, consulted on colors and materials, provided many free samples either from their store or delivered from the manufacturer to my door, and were over-all very professional. The installation of floor tile in the baths, kitchen, and entry, plus the complete re-building and tiling of the master bath shower, plus the installation of the carpeting, was impeccable. The entire project was effortless, painless, and in general, pleasurable. At this point I have no reason to call them back for corrections. Everyone who sees the house is impressed with the results. I recommend them highly and will use them again should I do additional work.

Basically, anything that could go wrong- went wrong. Not all of it was completely their fault though. We ordered carpet through them and picked an install date for the house we recently purchased. The staff at the store is a father and two sons, very nice in person and very helpful in person and they have a great selection of higher end flooring. That said, they can be pretty flaky too... I never got a followup phone call about carpet being available etc, I always had to call back repeatedly. On the day of the install their crew showed up on time, and began working, but noticed that the carpet they brought was ruined due to markings from manufacturing....unfortunately they didn't realize this until after removing the old carpet. What annoyed me the most was they didn't bother checking any of this prior to getting it to the house. The installer said that they would have new carpet back out to us by Monday afternoon (2 days later) and that he'd never seen anything like that happen. While I was fine with waiting 2 days, this turned out to be a complete fabrication on the part of the installer. I called the store Monday morning to confirm when the installers were coming back and was told by one of the brothers that it would likely be a month because the factory had to come out and look at the carpet before sending more. That didn't set well with me and after some choice words I got him to force the factory to deliver more carpet within a few days. I was completely appalled by the lack of care or motivation to do anything about this, especially since we had to delay most of our other furniture delivery due to this...and we were sleeping on a makeshift bed set-up in the meantime. The response I kept getting was "It's not our fault" and "this has never happened before" and they honestly seemed completely incapable of dealing with an abnormal situation. Had I bought the carpet myself and had them merely show up to install it, I would have completely understood their "It's not our fault" line- however, I contracted them to provide quality carpet and quality service at a premium....thus they are responsible for the carpet and installation. They refused to move around their crews to install the replacement carpet as soon as it came in and thus we had to wait another 3-4 days to get it installed. Likewise you would have thought an apology and discount would have been offered... absolutely not. The closest I got to an apology from the first son was "Well, this has never happened before and at least our installers pointed it out instead of just installing it". Only after threatening to call the BBB and talking/arguing with both sons and the father was I begrudgingly given a discount. To his credit, the other brother seemed far more professional and capable of dealing with the situation. On the day of the second attempt at the install, the installers showed up an hour and half late. They did a nice job installing, but after the ordeal and lack of professionalism shown by the staff of Leader I would never go back. I don't judge organizations for mistakes outside their control, I do judge them by how they respond to such situations. In this regard, Leader failed miserably especially since they bill themselves as providing a higher level of service.
