Bob and his crew were outstanding! They were neat, punctual and patient. When I saw the color that I had chosen after Mario and Gil had painted the first coat in my family room, I didn't like it. I called Bob, and he said it was no problem. He got a new color for me, and Mario and Gil were more than understanding. All three of these men said " You have to live with it, so we want you to be happy!"

The paint in the kitchen was peeling because the last time it was painted, a good primer had not been used over oil-based paint. A great deal of prep work was needed before a new primer could be applied. We had an excellent crew - Mario and his son Gil. They came to me with questions or suggestions. The kitchen was a disaster to look at when they began and now it's beautiful.

WOW. There aren't words to describe the professionalism and workmanship! And Bob is a really great guy to boot. A semi-quiet, funny, SUPER easy-going Yankee fan, Bob showed up to give us an estimate (the 3rd from Angie's list) and was just so honest, and he gave me the quote on the spot. Bob was the middle bid of the three quotes, but based on the reviews and his character, I decided to hire him. Thank goodness I did! The job ended up being so much harder than they ever anticipated, and the 125 year old wood needed A LOT of prep. I know Bob ended up making next to nothing on this job, but he stuck to his bid -- unbelieveable. He could have charged me left and right for changes I made, and the extra 8 samples I asked for, but he didn't. He even put extra crews on my 5,000sqft 2-story house to make sure it would be wrapped up before our baby was born! The crews: His guys are amazing. I was sad to see them go. The one guy who has only been working for Bob for 12 years they call the newby! Seriously, these guys are meticulous. I even had to take a video of the crew painting the eves and the mouldings because I could not believe how they were taking their time and making sure everything was perfect. I will be posting a photo. You won't believe it! I have had many neighbors knock and ask, "who was that painter?! The house looks fantastic."And it's true. We were extremely pleased with the professional service we received from this company. Bob gave us an estimate and in a couple of days they started working. Completed the job super fast and yet impeccable !! It even included an expert who gave us advice on how to choose the colors. We're 100% satisfied.

I called J&B Painting for a bid to paint only a very very tall stucco chimney that was dripping with dried soot. They recommended using a primer and then two coats of paint. I asked about doing a powerwash and they noted that it might damage the stucco - good call. The crew came out on time and did an outstanding job.

We called J&B based on Angie's List recommendations. We met with Bob Berger who provided a written estimate on the spot. He also provided a long list of references. We called a few and got glowing reports. We hired him the next day and it was a great decision. The house was painted on time by a professional and beyond courteous crew of workers. It went so well, that we have asked Bob to paint the interior of our house as well. We can't say enough good things about this company.

Bob came out, Gave us a quote, Bob recommended less expensiv paint but we had already made the purchase. He was very knowledgable and helpful. His crew was great and they started the next day and were done in three days. They did a great job.

J&B came out very quickly to provide an estimate and paint samples within a day of my inquiry. His painting crew came out 2 days later and got the job done over a weekend! We were looking to get the house painted quickly and they delivered. The J&B painting crew were very nice and professional. They didn't leave until we were completely satisfied with everything, down to the smallest touch ups and cleanup. They arrived on time both days and cleaned up at the end of the day. Would definitely consider using J&B in the future for both their professionalism and quality!

Bob met me at my home to assess the scope of the project and was very professional. He quoted me a price on the spot and was willing to work with me. I initially engaged his team to paint the trellis, gate and garbage corrall. Had their performance not met my expectations, I would have let them go after painting those three areas. Over the next two days, Alberto, Fred and Oracio impressed me with their high standards for their own work and their thoroughness. On the second day, it rained a good deal, so they left and asked me to call them at 1PM or when it stopped raining, whichever came first. Before I could get to the phone after the rain stopped, they returned to my home and began working again. I then extended our project to include sanding, bondo'ing, priming and painting the two sets of French doors with the trim and the shutters, which they agreed to do with only a very reasonable price increase. Bob stopped by himself to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Alberto, Fred and Oracio worked very hard and very efficiently all three days. They were prepared to answer all of my questions and heeded all of my requests without hesitation. These guys did a beautiful job, they are considerate, kind people and I highly recommend them.

J & B Painting did an excellent job. I can't speak highly enough about both the quality of work and customer service. This job was to paint my mother's house that has not been painted for quite a while and had a few shoddy repairs. It required extra effort because my mother has limit English and I live out of state. I was in town when I did the walk through with Steve for the estimate.The price was on the mid-range, but Steve did a careful estimate and asked good questions. The written estimate was given with a complete packet of information that included references, certificate of insurance and some industry consumer information. It's all information that should be customers should be provided upon request, but it was nice not to have to ask. The level of service and professionalism continued throughout the job. Steve was terrific and accommodated my request for daily check-in with pictures emailed to me. Again, I live out-of-state and wanted to make sure I had the info to report and discuss progress with my mother. The ceiling required several coats and extra work was need to fix work done by others. All was delivered for the quoted cost. My mom was really pleased with the quality of the work and even more pleased with Richard and his crew. My mom previous experience with other vendors has been really bad--shoddy work, low-balled estimates--and she was at a point that she really hated getting anything fixed or worked on. She's never let me help her because I was too far away. She's impressed that I could find such an excellent company to do the work. Thank you all from J&B Painting!

I got 2 bids, both from companies on Angie's List. Bob, the owner came out, took a look at what I wanted done and gave me a price. After I got the second bid, I called Bob to tell him I wanted him to do the job, but the other firm was a couple of hundred dollars less. Bob met their price and we were in business. Bob and his crew arrived when they said they would and Bob came out each day the crew was here to check their work. The crew he sent to my home was headed up by Ricardo and he was very good. On the last day, they stayed until 7pm, cleaning up and making touch-ups. They asked me to inspect their work twice to be sure they got everything. Very good. And someone else on Angie's List mentioned that they don't bring radios. True enough and we are grateful. My very elderly Mom doesn't like the radio noise. The crew is quiet and efficient. They spent a good deal of time sanding and caulking and the end result looks great. At the very end of the last day, I asked Ricardo to spackle a small spot on the interior wall of our entryway, where someone had banged the door hard and made a dent in the drywall. In moments, the youngest of the team had smoothed it over and it looked great even without a touch-up (we did the touch-up ourselves and bought a doorstop too). When we get ready to paint the interior, I will definitely call J&B again.

It was wonderful. They were here promptly for an estimate. They were here the next week to do the work. They courteous and clean. They cleaned up after themselves and did a beautiful job.

It went very well. I had some apprehension since I don't live on the property, but my tenant reported the men came very early and worked very hard. When I inspected the work, the house looked great. The chimney looked beautiful and the stairs looked brand new. The cost was $3600 less than another Angie's list contractor. Bob was eager to get his men working and began as soon as we agreed on the estimate. Job very well done!

Very nice crew...a few more drips on the hardscape than I would have liked, so make sure you check their work at the end of each day. Job was completed on time.

I interviewed four painters before picking J & B. I chose them because of their history, professionalism, flexibility on price, and lack of ego issues. Bob was patient with me as I waited for various legal/financial matters to clear before I could ask them to begin. When I was finally ready to start the job, he and his crew showed up on time. Rafael supervised the job and he was excellent. They completed the job in four days (original estimate was 5). They were neat, cleaned up the place when they were done, and took care of whatever possessions were still left in the condo. I highly recommend J & B Painting, Inc.

These guys were great. They were pretty patient with me when I didn't like the first color I chose. The guys painted one wall and I was afraid it was too dark, so I chose another color and Bob didn't charge me any more, I just had to pay for the paint. I vetted them by calling a couple of people on the reference list I was provided and went to see a couple of the homes. One guy I called said they had painted three homes for him and was enthusiastic to recommend them. I also went to a home they were currently painting and saw what a great job they were doing. That's what sold me. He had two teams comprised of a master and a helper. One group took the front of the house, the other the back. Mo was also a carpenter, and fixed the windows and did all of the stucco repairs. I had a handyman repairing and painting the interior of the house, but they were doing a really lousy and slow job. It was hard to let him go, but I had to do it after I saw the kind of work J & B was doing with my exterior. It was really a no-brainer. These guys are real pros. I am so glad I did. When I realized that I should get some moulding work done, Mo had a friend, Gaspar, who was brought in to install it. Bob, the owner of the company, had no problem with me paying Gaspar directly to do his work. He did a great job installing both the baseboards and the crown moulding. I've actually been using him as a handiman recently and he's been fantastic. During the job, I had some things that needed to be done and were not accounted for by me. J & B was hired to just do the painting, stucco, and exterior windows, so when I needed some carpentry done on the interior, Bob let me pay Mo to do some of the odd jobs and he did a great job. The master on the other job, Juan, was a very cool guy and after the job was over, he let me use his pressure washer to clean my patio. I had a little problem after the job was done with a leaky window. Bob promptly sent a guy to fix it and all was good. It's been about a year and a half, and the job still looks very good. I waited a long time to write this review because I wanted to make sure I had time to notice any defects, which are few and far between. I'd definitely use these guys again.

Perfect. The crew was polite, neat, prompt and professional.

Oh, yeah. These guys are excellent. Appreciated the advise on colors, too, and painting the old patio wood structure versus trying to use stain. Everything came out extremely well well. In fact, I had a vinyl kitchen window scheduled to put in after they painted the home. No problem as Bob said they were willing to come by after window installation to touch up the exterior portion. They did, true to word, and even checked around the house to see if they might spot any other touch up. First class. Not the cheapest bid I got for the job, but I ended up getting more than I paid for, better than just fair price. Bravo to Bob and his professional team who take pride in their craft.

They did an outstanding job and were very quick. Finished painting our house inside and outside in 5 days (ours was a 2000 sq ft house).Will definitely use them again!

We have a condo in Santa Barbara and wanted to find a reasonable, quality company to paint interior and refinish ceilings. Checked Craigs list, but had no reference points. Decided to join Angies List & actually felt confident to make a few phone calls, based on others opinions. Had several estimates and decided to go with J&B Painting, based on reputation from Angies List, price they quoted and also how many days they estimated it would take to complete project. Well, it all went great. The crew arrived on Wed and job was completed on Friday afternoon--They busted a move and did fabulous job. My husband and I were both extremely pleased and he is particular because he is in the trades. My house feels so fresh and new! Decided no more DIY!

They did an excellent job at a very good price. We would definitely use them again.

We had Bob Berger come in to give us an estimate while we were still shopping around. He was quietly confident and gave us a mid-range quote but offered to negotiate. We called up some from his tonnes of references and they gave us glowing feedback about his work. The two things that we were looking out for were punctuality and workmanship. We would give him an A+ in both of those categories, just as his references did. He and his men always turned up on time, sometimes early as well. They were friendly and cooperative. They never made any mess and re-did the places we requested. They even changed the batteries on one of my fire alarms and helped hang back the drapes in high places. They always sequestered the required areas like the media niche and fireplace with requisite care. They took care of the carpet and wooden floors as well. I would have to look real hard to find any paint spots, if they are there at all. Bob deployed extra crews to get the job done ahead of schedule. Ours is a 2100 two-story house and they did it all in 3 days flat. We changed our mind about some colors in the middle of the job and Bob cooperated with that as well. They closed out the job nicely by finishing up the inner areas before the outer ones. I would hire them again to do our exterior painting, if they can give us a reasonable price again.

The whole experience was great from start to finish. Bob, the owner of J&B, came promptly to give me a estimate, looked the house over and gave me the quote on the spot. I appreciated his non-pushy, straight-forward manner. He told me he would put enough workers on the job to have it done within a week, because he knew it was disruptive to have workers around for a long time. (Some other companies told me it would take up to three weeks.) When I had a question about what kind of paint to use, he had his contact from Dunn-Edwards come to the house to answer my questions. Everything proceeded exactly as planned. Bob divides his painters into two man teams, and each team is responsible for a certain area of the house, which seemed to work really well. Everything that needed to be protected from paint was carefully covered. The prep was done carefully and thoroughly. Everything was finished in a week and the result is beautiful. Many of our neighbors have commented on how well the job was done and how good the house looks. We couldn't be more pleased. Thanks to Bob and all the guys at J&B!

Every time I walk up my front steps I am so happy - because I feel like I have a new house! The guys from J&B did such a complete and careful job. They were very professional. They did things I didn't even expect, like painting the mailbox and my landscape lights so that they would look just as fresh as everything else. When I chose a color for the shutters and doors to get a sample of, Bob suggested that I also get a sample of one shade darker - and of course he was right. I love the color and have gotten many compliments. The crew even re-painted the house numbers on my garage because the new color was darker and they thought the black numbers would not show well, so they painted them white. Their price was higher than other estimates, but the quality job they did and attention to all the extra little details made be feel like it was money very well spent.
