It was fine and they did a pretty good job.

I had a problem with my stucco and had used J & B before several times. Bob came right out and looked at the situation and got a couple of his men out the next day. Not only was the work excellent, but the price was better than excellent. I would recommend J & B Painting over any other painters. Professionalism and responsiveness are his key words.

Bob Berger is the owner of J&B Painting. They are located at 5200 Kanan Road, Agoura Hills, adjacent to the 101 Fwy. I got his information from Angies's list, his phone number is (818) 865-2534. Bob (J&B Painting) was the first of four estimates that I received. The fact is, he was the only one that I needed. But, to be safe, I checked with some other local companies that also had good scores from Angie's List. Two of the other companies came up with estimates over twice the amount as J&B's. When I called J&B Paining Bob spoke with me on the phone. He set up an immediate appointment and he showed up on time. He provided me with paperwork that supports his 5-Star rating with Angie. He has hundreds of homes that he has painted in the area and thousands of people that are pleased with his work. Add me to the list of satisfied customers. Bob has a loyal crew of painters that showed up to work at 7am and worked hard throughout the day. The 4 guys have been team members for many years and they worked well together on our house. Throughout the project my wife and I decided to change some electrical items and an outdoor fan in the gazebo. The painters didn't balk for a moment and displayed their talents while replacing light fixtures and the fan. They were trustworty and kept the place very clean. They even were careful with our dogs. Clearly, Bob Berger has a professional crew and they all work hard at keeping their excellent reputation. I was very pleased with the job and they gor it all done in a total of 6 days. As soon as they were finished my wife and I asked Bob to give us an estimate on another home, a rental property near the beach. If the estimate comes in like this one, we will hire him for the job immediately.

The job was just wonderful! The owner, Bob, stands behind his work, and his employees were excellent! They materials they used were also top quality.

They were absolutely terrific. The color in the bathroom was wrong and they willingly went back to the paint store twice until we got the shade that I was happy with. They were also very willing to do some "crazy" things that I wanted done such as painting one wall a deep purple and making an abstract design on the wall for me in lilac. The guys were very meticulous and cleaned everything up before they left. They were pleasant and enthusiastic. They were here for 3 days and we really liked them. The foreman showed up to check up on everything just like he said he would. This company was a delight to work with and I have already talked to them about painting the outside of the house.

I was planning on using Angie's List to get several bids on the painting of my home interior. I happened to call Bob Berger first. He came to my home the same day and worked so well with me that I decided to just hire him on the spot. I am very happy I did. Not only was he willing to help me find ways to cut out certain parts of the job to get me to a price I could afford, the completed work is absolutely terrific. Bob's painters were reliable, trustworthy and willing to go the extra mile every time (with a smile, never a complaint) to move furniture, remove a TV from the wall before painting etc ... On a job that took a little over a week, they never left for the day without making sure everything was clean and put away. In addition, Bob always came to the job site 1-2 times a day to make certain all was going as promised. I am very happy with the work and would highly recommend them to anyone.

After doing home remodeling and construction for the past 5 years, we have been religious on using Angie's list to find individuals that will do work at the BEST VALUE. We are not necessarily looking for the lowest price but a company that will perform quality work. We received 3 quotes from companies with high ratings on Angie's list and to our surprise the estimates were widely varied. Mr Bob Berger from J&B Painting stepped through all the details on process and schedule and provided an estimate. We had a color scheme in mind prior to the start of the work. The crew showed up at the time that was scheduled. All windows, stonework, exterior lights were covered in the case of overspray. House was cleaned prior to painting. They painted the complete house and started painting the trellis on the front of the house. They noticed the color combination did not go the best and stopped until they talked to us to confirm we really wanted the color. We were out of town when they started the trellis. When my wife first saw the combination, she immediately knew it was the wrong color combination. Another color for the trellis was selected and Bob did not make any issues with redoing the portion he previously painted. The pergola was built about 3 years ago with green lumber. Within a 1 year, the lumber weeped a lot of sap. Bob's crew scrapped and sanded the sap and repainted. It looks like it was built yesterday after the work by J&B Painting. It was a pleasure working with Bob and his crew and would recommend them to anyone. Our experience was one of the best and we will not hesitate to use him again.

We called to get an estimate for interior and exterior paint to our home. Steve from J&B showed up right on time and was friendly and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what we wanted done, even if we couldn't exactly articulate it. He was very patient and really took the time to go through the entire house, inside and out, to see what needed to be done. And he was honest with us in terms of his assessment of what REALLY needed to be done and the price. I would definitely recommend this company to others because they know what they're doing and they're going to do a fantastic job.

I contacted Bob on Tuesday morning and arranged a meeting the next day. He gave me a quote for the job and his guys were able to start that same day. Great group of guys working for him. Richard was trustworthy and very professional. They did very nice work and took care of the surrounding surface areas (hardwood floors, removed curtains, etc). Finished the job on time and within a short time span. Will use them again.

My current home: In July 2011, I called Bob and asked him to meet me at my current residence to give me a quote on painting the exterior of my residence. We scheduled a date and Bob was on time and provided what I consider a fair estimate. I hired him knowing the quality of the work he had done on my home in Beverly Hills. His workers were professional and courteous and they did an excellent job. In or about May of 2000, after obtaining 3 outrageous estimates on painting the exterior of my 2-story home in Beverly Hills: I found J&B Painting in the yellow pages, checked them out with the CA State License Board. I called and scheduled a date and time to meet with Bob. Bob and I met at our scheduled time. We took a tour of the residence and Bob provided the estimate and all of his insurance information. I had a time schedule and Bob was very accommodating. He said he could provide eight workers for the job and they would complete the work in one week. The eight workers showed up at 8 a.m. the following Monday and the painting was completed by Saturday. His workers were dressed in all whites and were professional, polite and courteous. They did a great job on the house and I was extremely pleased with the results.

I contacted Bob when a contractor failed to show up at the last minute and he was able to meet me that day and provide an estimate and timeline that met my needs. Bob's team was punctual, courteous and professional. They took care to ensure my personal belongings were protected while they worked and kept the job site clean. Bob was available and responsive to all requests and his team's work was immaculate. This company was one of several I dealt with after a house fire and they were one of the most professional. After having a number of teams come into my home and have a lack of respect for my personal belongings and space, it was good to know there are still kind and professional companies out there who are honest and take pride in their craftsmanship. I have recommended J&B to a few friends and family members and will definitely use them in the future for other projects.

Bob from J&B arranged to do the job while i was going out of town. My request for that to happen was rather at the last minute. Steve, the color consultant, provided great guidance. When I returned from my trip, everything looked great. They did more than I expected and did it so well that I paid a bit extra than the contracted price. I used J&B a couple times before, so I felt good about using them again. Turned out to be a great choice, and I especially appreciate it all getting done with only a few days advance notice.

I would rate them an A in every category.

Boib came and gave us an estimate. We had three and his was the lowest. His crew showed up when scheduled and worked steadily to completion. The crew spoke English, and acted very professionally. It was comnpletely uneventful. When they finshed, we paid.

The experience was very pleasant I found them to be very mannerable, punctual and pleasant to deal with. The workers were on time and kept a consistent pace throughout the job. They were respectful towards my house and did a top quality job I would definitely hire them again.

I contacted Bob earlier in the year but because of some delays with other work wasn't able to get to the painting for several months. When I called in November he gave me a date to start that was the following week. His crew was very easy to be around and kept the house clean. There were no surprises. The work was excellent. I picked out the paint samples prior to starting but I got some good advice for the ceilings exc.

Update 06/24/2015: Hired one man for 2 days for $600 net. He showed up at 8:00 and left at 2:00 both days. If I'd have gotten the full day I paid for, I gotta think quality would have improved in several respects. I was recommending these guys highly, but since I didn't get the full amount I paid for I really have to go lukewarm regarding these guys. Much worse than being short-changed was that I came to know that management knew of the short-coming, not just the man at the site. Management was upset about it as the guy on-site was querying me to see if I told on him (I didn't) and told me how upset they were. Management knew another way he wasn't doing a full day but didn't know I knew they knew - and they just let my getting short-changed slide. As my previous results with these guys was ok, I'm not completely giving up on them necessarily - just the next time around, at best, they will have to compete with several quotes like anybody else instead of a easy shoe-in. old: Bob quoted the work. $7500 for the interior of the house, $1500 for the interior of the Garages and $600 for the front door staining. Get painter "Leno". He's awesome. The results are beautiful. These guys can really paint a straight line. They are proud of there work and it shows in the results. An issue or two came up. They simply resolved them as they came up and didn't proposed increasing the price. Tolerated me well as I fretted my way through my color choices. I got what Bob told me I would get - a gorgeous interior paint job. No BS here. Was best quoted price as well. Refreshing. Day's pay for a good day's work. I'll use these guys again. And Soon !

After 28 years we decided to make repairs on some of our drywall, repaint the entire interior of our home (except for the kitchen) and install new carpeting. Inasmuch as we had heard a lot of negative reports on conractors, we approached this project with some trepidation. We interviewed seven paint and two drywall contractors. We decided to use J & B Painters from Agoura Hills, and we are so very happy that we did. From the first visit by Streve Berger, we felt that he was genuinely committed to providing outstanding service. He has a very easy-going and trustworthy personality and took his time going through the rooms of our home carefully examining the places that needed drywall repair He was willing to give us their senior citizen discount on the job and offered to give us the name of an interior designer that he recommends because we were uncertain of the best colors to use given the lighting in our home is so varied. The designer he recommended, Joanne MacCallum (JM Design), came to our home and suggested several colors for the various rooms which Steve got samples of and came and put them on the walls himself. Throughout all this, Steve was very patient with us and his encouragement and support helped us tremendously. The day we started painting, Steve arrived with his two crews exactly on time. He took a lot of time explaining to his associates what was to be done. Each day he would return to examine the work and make any necessary additions to our job that we requested. His painters were always prompt, did a meticulous job on the drywall repairs, removal of wallpaper in 3 bathrooms and painting and they were extemely careful in moving heavy furniture and putting plastic cloths over anything that needed protection. They did all the necessary preparations on the on the walls, ceilings, spindles on stairwell, and doors. His crews were very respectful and courteous at all times and went out of their way to try to please us. Steve put more than one crew on the job so as to accommodate our needs. After the painting and carpet installation, Steve came back with his crew to do touch-ups. We arranged for different crew members to do other jobs with Steve's permission (refinishing a portion of the banister, changing hinges on cabinets, making a door to the attic, and changing a door knob-these workers were paid separately). We are so extremely pleased with the painting and repairs done by J & B Painters that we wholeheartedly recommend them and are planning to use them again next year when we do work on our kitchen.

This was an incredibly positive experience. Bob arrived as schedule to give me an estimate. He arranged for their color consultant, Steve, to visit the next day to discuss the paint. Steve was helpful and we ultimately selected one of the colors he suggested. Bob and his crew arrived as scheduled. The work was done by Francisco, his wife, and a relative. They were outstanding. They did a very thorough job of prepping, were careful to protect adjacent areas with plastic, and did a careful paint job. They were helpful in patching holes, sealing gutters, etc. I think the price was fair and competitive. I would happily recommend this company.

This is the second time I've used J&B's services. The first job was $4000+ to paint the entire interior of my house. This current job was much smaller--repair work after the replacing of a heating unit in a rental house. Despite the small size of the job , I got the same great service from Bob Berger. I left a vm and Bob called me back the same day, letting me know that he had someone who could do the work and I'd pay him $150 for the day, which is what Bob pays him. It sounded like Bob would not be taking a cut, but was helping his painters get work when he didn't have a bigger job for them. Bob arranged everything with the painter and called me back to confirm. The painter, Christian, called two days before the job to confirm, was on-time (actually early) on the day of, and did a great job. He was professional and really knew what he was doing. We paid him and got a professional receipt. I would not hesitate to use his services again. What I like about working with Bob is that is he is honest and straight-forward. He didn't have to tell me how much he paid his painters. He doesn't have to help his painters get work on the side. And for a job this small, he didn't have to give me the same excellent customer service I got with my $4000+ job. But he did and I consider him the best contractor in any field that I've ever worked with. I recommend him to friends and family, and he's already done a job for my sister, who was quite satisfied. I plan on using Bob's services anytime I have painting needs in the future.

The work went very well, the painters did their job pretty quickly but thoroughly. Most importantly, they even painted part of the exterior walls and windows that wasn't included in the quote which I greatly appreciated.

Bob, the owner, was very easy to get a hold of for the initial estimate. He arrived right when he said he would and spent time making sure he understood what needed to be painted (and what didn't). He was able to start the job within two weeks. He and his crew were very punctual and professional. They were very easy to work with and helped us with color selection. They did a great job prepping the surfaces: sanding, scraping, etc. The job was done when we expected it to and payment wasn't due until the job was finished. The main reason I choose them over another company who gave me an estimate was their three-year warranty on the work. It made me feel they would stand behind their work and do it right the first time. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

Steve and his crew were amazing. He came out, did a consultation and even rode with us to check on other home colors that we like. Three days later, he and his crew showed up to our house and did what they do best. My wife and I are very pleased with Steve and his crew-Ronny, Oscar and Mauricio. They produced professional results in a very timely manner. From complete preparation until the final stage-making sure they did not miss any spot and showed great concern on things such as the clean up and detail work associated with the job. Also, his price was very reasonable and the work was excellent. Steve and crew stands out from the rest. We will absolutely use them again. I can't say enough good about these guys. In 23 years, they have to be the best I have seen. These guys can paint a straight line with their eyes closed in the middle of the air. Bob, the owner, was very informative and knowledgeable. He gave excellent recommendations and his talent showed through. He spent the time needed to accommodate exactly what I wanted and I was thoroughly impressed with his expertise. He was very honest and straight forward about what did and did not need to be replaced. They had a specialist for just the fascia board replacements that needed to be done, as well as another crew member that specialized in the sanding and patching. It was like watching a precision swim team to see how they worked together. The three man crew was very efficient and prompt. They even finished the job under their original timeframe. The other bids that I received offered 2 year warranties, yet it was for "two passes" meaning that they spray once and roll after. J & B's warranty covered two coats for three years. Bob even told me that he would do a third coat if need be. It was a joy to find this company. They do exactly what they say they will do and charge reasonable rates. Their rates were cheaper than other estimates I received. They didn't raise the rates as the job went further along. I would highly recommend them to others.

J&B painting kept me guessing – I had no idea what they were doing, what was going to happen, or whether my color choices would work. Then, a little less than the week they said it would take, I walked out in front of my house and almost burst into tears – it was the most gorgeous transformation I could ever have dreamed of. Oh, my word, I went from having the worst looking house on the block to the best and, though they didn’t like my color choices, they showed me trial after trial of paint samples on the house and then went with my choice. I’m so proud of my house now and feel so lucky I went with them. By the way, I had requested one other estimate, from another company, they called, said they’d be out to see me, and have yet to be here or call with an explanation. Their loss was definitely my gain.
