The work was outstanding in every respect. I have a two story house with cement siding, and there are very narrow setbacks between my house and my neighbors' houses. J & B took the time to really prep my house (which hadn't been painted since it was remodeled in 1999). My neighbor's car was covered, and my neighbors commented on how polite and helpful J & B personnel were. My house windows were covered which ensured that there would be no paint spots on the panes (The only downside is that there was a residue left on the outside of the windows, so I'm having to clean them.). There was paper taped down to cover the areas close to the house. Everything was done to the highest quality. The personnel were on time. The work was done in the time quoted. I would recommend J & B to anyone without any qualification. They are outstanding!

Previously, we hired J & B Painting in September 2012 to paint the exterior of our English Tudor home in Pasadena. We were so happy with their work that we hired J & B Painting to paint the interior of the house in 2013 (approximately 2/3 of the interior). We are again thrilled with their work as they finished it today, June 17. Our 4-member "interior" team, led by Francisco, included Gladis, Edmundo and Julio. All are extremely professional, proficient at what they do, and very detail oriented. The amount of prep work was simply outstanding and comprehensive. (We have 29 casement windows consisting of over 200 individual panes!!) They promptly corrected any small "goofs" and nothing in our home was damaged. (By the way, we are not easy clients.) Every effort was made to be clean and neat. Furniture was moved and moved back extremely carefully. Nothing was rushed and the whole process took about 7 days. They even swept the whole back courtyard of all debris. We look forward to having J & B Painting return to finish the last 1/3 of the interior once we finalize our color choices. Bob was very quick to respond and got out to the property right away and quickly provided a bid. Price was a bit higher than other bids so did not end up going with him.

Very well. Our house needed extensive prep work, which took several days. A team of four people came out for five days. They were extremely punctual, polite, thorough, clean, etc. They were good at communicating with me and respecting my wish to not let my cats out and to take care with my outdoor plants. There was an unexpected glitch about removing some of the security bars, but they diligently followed through and we were able to figure it out, with some help from the company that had installed the bars years ago.

They did an excellent job. My mother was very happy with the outcome!

They are great. Friendly, knowledgable, professional and experienced painters. I am extremely pleased with their service and work product and would highly recommend their services to others looking for a painter.

James Lee from J & B Painting Inc came out to give an estimate for exterior painting of our two story 1974 2900 sq ft house. He was professional, knowledgable and friendly; he had many excellent references and photos of home and buildings painted by J & B. I was impressed by him, his references and detailed description regarding the prep work that would be done before painting, I accepted his estimate (which was very reasonable) on the spot. A few days later two employees; Abraham and his co-worker arrived early for work and they spent the next four days cleaning and preparing the house to be painted. All the windows and sliding glass doors were covered with plastic wrap and taped completely around. The swimming pool was covered with plastic wrap and taped down. They were careful not to damage roof tiles, putting down boards to proctect tiles. They worked non-stop (break for lunch they brought with them) sanding, scraping, patching, spot primer on prepped wood, followed by a power wash. It took four days because the house needed a lot of work. They covered every inch of the house including sanding, patching filling and repairing trim along the roof lines. Drop cloths were put down there was no mess, they cleaned up every day before the went home. These guys are great; this house has never had such thorough preparation before being painted. The house has been painted four times over the twenty-five years we have lived here, none of the work came anywhere near the laborious and careful preparation work Abraham and his co-worker did. Once the preparation work was completed the house was painted in no time, it too was done with meticulous care. Early during the job I changed my mind about the color; Abraham once again brought chosen paint samples and applied them to all sides of the house on the stucco and wood so we could see the color in different lighting. Years ago I painted the front doors a shade of red that isn't really red and is not a standard color. I wanted the doors repainted in the same color but only had a small amount of that paint left over. Abraham took the bit of paint to the paint shop and a perfect match was made. Other painters had tried to do the same but did not succeed. Our house looks beautiful, nicest on the street. Neighbors stop by to tell us how what a great job the painters did and they love the color. The house has never look better. The preparation and repair done by Abraham and his co-worker are behind the transformation, and of course their great paint job. Their detailed preparation is more than excellent. And, everything was cleaned and hauled away, no spatters, drips or mess. This is a great company that works hard to do the job right. No skimping on the tough stuff, no trying to paint over bad spots. They don't try to cover up the bad spots with paint - they fix the bad spots! It went wonderfully. Wasn't nickel and dimed for additional work. They even fixed the front gate that was a little loose when they repainted.

Everything was great! One of the best companies I've worked with.

They did a real good job. We were on a time crunch and they worked from early morning until late afternoon. Everything was done properly. My husband is a retired professional painter and he watched very carefully and was happy with their work. The job looks great. We are pleased.

We selected four different colors for different areas of the house. Steve was great at giving us time and suggestions. The crew consisted of two guys Rony and Mauricio, who seems to have plenty of experience in this line of work. They made sure that the doors where accessible when we needed to leave the house for work and when we came back. They covered all the plants to make sure they did not get paint on them. One minor flaw was that during week they would leave finished tape rolls, and used brushes everywhere and they would also throw water with pain on the grass. On the other hand, at the end of the project they swept, picked up all the trash and cleaned to the best of their ability. Steve came to check on them twice during the project and he made sure we were left with extra paint in case we ever need it.

They were very good. I would use them again. I had one area that I wanted corrected and they came right back to fix it. J& B panting has done e or 4 jobs for me however I happened to notice an area in bedroom that had been missed I left message to call me nobody did I would not hire them again

Its been a while since the job was completed so I don't remember all the details. They were very professional, completed the job on time, cleaned up after themselves, and made our house look great. Its been over a year and our house still looks great. I would recommend them to friends and family.

I waited to post my review to see if the good workmanship held up a few months, or whether perhaps some "shortfalls" became more apparent. I'm happy to report that I'm as happy with the work today as the day they left the job site. I got Bob's name off of Angie's List and he showed up to provide an estimate at exactly the appointed hour. When we put off the work in the summer of 2011 and resumed consideration in the summer of 2012, Bob happily came back to the house to refresh his memory and verify his past estimate. Our house is over 5,000 sf so a big job; it also meanders around the property and is on several levels, so not the easiest job ever. They handled it like true professionals. What i really liked about using them for a big job was that other companies said they'd have 3 or 4 guys on site for like 3 weeks. Not Bob. He said he'd have 8-10 and he'd be out of our hair within a week. That included power washing the house, prep, 2 or 3 coats of paint, etc. They lived up to their word. Bob came by every 2 days or so to make sure everything was on track. When they got to work they did just as promised. They were meticulous. We have an area of the yard where we have "Fieldturf" for the kids and i was worried a ladder would dig in and damage it, so they put down plywood to distribute the weight of the ladder evenly. They have a crew leader (i can't remember our guy's name now) but if you want to point things out, or ask them to redo something or touch it up, they are all to glad to do it. They never complain, they never say "that wasn't in our quote, that's extra" and they don't sluff off. The house came out looking TERRIFIC as did the area around the house (no refuse; no paint all over our plants, etc). We would not hesitate to use them again. They are exactly as Angie's list promised.

I called J&B Painting early Thursday morning and spoke with Bob Berger. I told him I had a painting project which needed to be done right away, as I had a gutter project starting Monday and the painting and stucco repair had to be done prior to Monday. He was very responsive. He said he would come out the next morning (Friday) to provide me with a quote and would bring 2 painters with him (he had given me a per day price on telephone regarding 2 painters - I said bring them as I need to start work asap). He arrived on time the next morniing with his 2 painters. He provided me with a quote for immediate project and an additional quote for some future work. I gave him the green light for immediate work and his 2 painters worked, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in order to get job done by my Monday deadline. His painters did an excellent job on all of the painting prep work and painting, as well as the stucco repair work. They went above and beyond what was expected of them. Really nice guys who worked very hard with excellent results. I would highly recommend this company and plan to use them in the future.

J&B is an impressive outfit. We were in need of a lot of painting to freshen a home and prepare a guest house for a family member. We started with contracting for painting the interior of the guest house (including the small kitchen and bathroom, as well as living area) as that was the most urgent thing. The price for doing that plus the exterior wooden deck was $3200, including labor and all materials. Although at the time that seemed high, we went ahead anyway as the project was quite urgent. Well, the completed work was spectacular and worth the price. Flawless painting and complete coverage of all previous wall holes, etc. J&B were also very careful with the edges--all perfect coverage, no drips, no paint on windows, etc. J&B also put me in touch with a paint store where I could select and pick up free samples of paint for each room. This was highly useful as I ended up choosing different paints than I otherwise would have once I saw them painted on the wall in the actual space. The final result looked fantastic. It was so good that we immediately contracted out the work for painting the main house and guest house exterior. For that, we also used their color consultant, Steve, whose advice turned out to be very wise. It looks like a totally different (and much higher quality) house! I definitely recommend J&B!

Maybe not the cheapest, but they did a great job. Showed up on time every day with a professional, courteous crew. Finished on time. House looks great!

The entire job was done in one week and that's with a continuing rain therat and downpours. Bob's staff fo four ment did an outstanding job of reporting on time, showing total and complete professionalism and working a highly efficient manner. They were most considerate of the property and preserving the grounds and protecting all that they handled. They could not have been more cooperative and freindly, not a trait found n ready supply these days with contractors. The finished home looks brand new with its new coat of paint. The washing of the roof tiles turned out beautifully and sparkles like new as well. Bob Burger, the owner, was up front about all aspects of the job from start to finish. His price was extremely competitive. All-in-all, this was a totally painless procedure and would not hesitate to recommend Bob and his crew to others. On a separate note, I used one of his carpenters to reconstruct a wood fence on the patio along with installing glass bricks on top of a stucco wall. There were no problems whatsoever. They were amazing. They were punctual. They did everything I asked and the best part of that was that they cleaned up, any mess that they made, they cleaned up everyday. You would never have known painters were at my house. Steve, Mario and Gil were always the consummate professionals. Every time I called, I got a callback within ten minutes if I left a message. The price that he quoted me was based on his visual inspection but they actually had to do a lot more work than they realized and he did not charge me anything extra. They were fantastic, really easy to work with and the nicest thing was that they were very flexible about all of my painting decisions. I had several color choices that I wanted to see and I had them actually bring out about 12 paint samples and he never complained about it and was really good about my crazy making with my choosing the right color. They went above and beyond and surpassed all my expectations. The other thing I really appreciated was Steve did not try to oversell me on anything, he came out quoted me on what I asked for. This was refreshing because I had other people come out and they all tried to oversell me. And when I wanted and needed extra things done they were accommodating and very reasonably priced. I live near an elementary school, and have had lots of comments on what a beautiful job they did and how lovely my home looks, and I couldn;t agree more. I will ABSOLUTELY use them again in the future!!!

We hired these painters after being swayed by the excellent reviews and speaking with their representative Steven. Despite having had a lower estimate from painters that did a good job on our next door neighbor?s house, we decided that the fact J&B was insured and bonded, plus the peace of mind we would get a professional job, would be worth it. The crew was friendly and always punctual and trustworthy. They paid heed to our request to be careful with our landscaping. Our problems arise from the fact the work was not done to the level expected from such highly rated professionals. The painting on the window exteriors was not as clean and precise as the job done several years ago by another company. The interior wall painting and patching was OK, but the patches are visible and should have been sanded smoother before the paint went on. Our worst complaint is the fact that we were left with a big mess. I had complained to Steven during the job that there was more dust in the house from the exterior sanding than there should be if they took the proper measures to mitigate it. They did cover floors where they walked, but had to be reminded to put drop clothes on the hardwood floors because their ladders would scratch through the thin plastic sheeting they used. Once they completed, but before I had the chance to thoroughly review the house, I did convey to Steven that the dust and mess was more than I expected. Steven was very concerned about this and offered to send a crew back to clean up, but I declined because we wanted to put our lives back in order and we were hosting guests that evening. Once I began cleaning up the house and yard the true magnitude of the sloppiness became apparent, we found that paint had been tracked on our outside tiled patio, on our stone steps and driveway. Window trim paint had been splattered on a stucco wall and had been painted over with the stucco paint, but still bleeding thru. There were paint drips on the furniture in the room that adjoins the stairwell they painted, on window panes, on the kitchen door, on the hardwood floors and kitchen floor - the dust extended to all areas of the house. It took a weekend of vacuuming, dusting and scrapping paint off of tile, driveway pavers and elsewhere to get the house back in order. I'm sure they must also do excellent and clean work, but apparently not all the time. To be fair, I didn't take up their offer to come back to do the additional clean up nor convey to them the problems we encountered afterwards, but given that we paid top price we should not expect their workmanship to require this ? we could have taken our chances with another contractor and saved some money, even if we would have had to go thru the same ordeal of cleaning up after them.

In spite of a very lengthy commute to Whittier, they arrived on time every day and did a wonderful job. The first contact was within half an hour of our call. Steve came out for the estimate the next day and the work began the following Monday. We are so impressed with their professionalism and the quality of the work done by Richard and both Oscars. They did an excellent job prepping, painting and cleaning up. Very highly recommended.

Overall, it was an excellent experience. The estimate was fair, the time frame was followed perfectly, and the work was done within a week of the estimate. Bob was cooperative and accomodating. The two painters who did the work, Marcello and his brother, were meticulous in every way and went above and beyond in doing extras. They were craftsmen.

J&B Painting were quick to give me a quotation for the work to be performed and when I accepted their quote they performed the work the next day. Very professional and I will use them again.
