This contractor was not our first choice, however he was recommended by our regular pool service company's owner. Once contracted he did show up and begin work. However the month and a half estimate he gave turned to be almost 6 months. This guy trys to underbid competitors to win the contract. However as they say, you get what you pay for. He is unlicensed and that should have been a clue for us. During 95% of the work done I was out of the country and although my wife was here, they did all of the work while she was also at work. First off the guy doesn't listen to what it is you want, he'll keep saying "yeah, yeah, yeah we can do that" but seems to forget what it is that you want. For example I wanted a dark colored pool plaster, just like the one he was replacing. What we got was the same light blue like all other pools. The plaster has runs and foot prints in it as well as uneven areas. The pool tiles were to be cleaned and polished, they never were. The waterfall leaks from both sides, I've complained numerous times, but they've not been able to find the leak. While installing the water line for the waterfall they hacked up our sprinkler waterline, didn't repair that until we complained. Noticed this weekend that the bottom of the table is bare concrete, untreated or sealed. Were suppose to get cool deck, however it's not. The list goes on and on. The problem now is that he came to my wife (while I was overseas) asking for the final payment even though the job was not complete and she paid him. Then once I got home I had no leverage what so ever to get anything done. I would have been willing to pay $4K more for a job done right, as apposed to this that I doubt will last a year. From a distance the pool looks nice, till you look closely and I know I'll have many many problems with this pool. I can not understand how someone who has been in the pool building, restoring business for as long as he says he has been and not yet been run out of town for sub-standard work.
