Paid 3-4k for new pool equipment right before swimming season. A couple months later it breaks down. Brand new equipment. Acme doesnt have the part, its on backorder. Been over a month still waiting for repair. Cant use pool. Lost good chunk of swimming season plus pool now infested with algae since it wont run. I asked if they would clean pool (since I cant clean it now with broken equipment and its gotten real bad) whenever the part finally arrives and they said no. Poor customer service!

It was a service call thing and I have a home warranty. I only paid them $65. They are very good, but they are not always the cheapest. They are comprehensive. They know what the problems are, know how to diagnose, and know how to work on the equipment and that is important to me than the cost. What stood out most about them is that they are just very thorough in what they were doing.
Description of Work: For pool & Spa, the most comprehensive in our area is ACME. They came out the last time to check my salts in the pool.

Reported this to First American on Friday, September 5. Getting this fixed was a time-critical fix, as we were getting ready to pack the house on 9/20 prior to move 9/21. Did not hear back from Acme until I called them on Thursday, September 11, and was told servicing was scheduled for Wednesday, 9/17. Technicians did arrive on time but entered pool area before being invited in. Service was fairly quick - found bad seals on pump, but there was still leakage in the spa equipment area after service. Technician either missed one leak during the servicing, or induced a new leak. Call to Acme on Thursday 9/18 to ask for prompt re-service, was told we would be contacted later that day with details. Called back that afternoon, could not get a commitment. Did not hear back from company that day. Contacted First American early next morning (9/19) to request that Acme Pool & Spa be put on the "do not hire again" list due to delay in getting initial service and lack of followup regarding remaining leak. I did get a call from both the owner and the office manager later that morning (9/19) but by that time I had found another service who could come out, inspect and repair the second leak with no further delay. Leak was around seal on major filter and was probably due to improper re-installation by technicians.
Description of Work: Provider was to have fixed leaks with spa pump and associated equipment under home warranty with First American. $60 fee is fixed by warranty company.

While maintaining the pool, there was a gross overuse of the chemicals that I purchased which of course required me to purchase more chemicals. The maintainer also broke the pool pump filter basket, which they did replace, but only after calling the manager to "haggle" over whose responsibility it was. After my work travels were somewhat complete for the summer, and based on a lack of trust in the technician to do the right thing (based on the above), I brought my service down to one time per week. ACME continued to charge me for two times per week. This went on for two consecutive months so I decided to cancel my service altogether on July 31st. I recouped the money they owed me, but only three weeks after I cancelled services and literally standing at their desk until they wrote me a check. The following month, last month, they charged me again- no services performed! I went straight to their desk this time and got my check. Not sure if they are going to charge me again next month, but my expectations are not high. Will be filing a complaint with the BBB.
Description of Work: ACME Pool was contracted to simply clean our pool two times per week. They did keep the pool clean.

Description of Work: They were the provider used by my home warranty. They replaced the pool pump. I had to call them a second time because the new pump was not able to work. The technician left boxes and wrappings from the new equipment in my backyard. I had asked for them to remove it when I called for the second look, but it was still there. I had just had surgery on my collarbone which made the clean up particularly rough for me. The pump has been working fabulously since and I appreciated the promp response to come out for the second look. I would say that they did a good job. :)

When I took over as maintenance for Desert Air, ACME was doing our pool & spa service. What I found was disgraceful. Was charge for double product & only received one. Spa pump leaked never fixed, instead change 'O' ring in chlorinator 3 times in 9 months. Did get credit on some product, but nothing on work that should have been done. I give them a failing grade.
Description of Work: Did pool & spa work for Desert Air Mobile Estates up until 5/2012 apprx.

tThe worst pool company I have ever dealt with. They will lie or do whatever it takes to keep from taking responsibility for there mistakes!
Description of Work: This pool company is the very worst there is in this area! They came to put in a new pool pump ,and the guy wired it all wrong using only blue wire everywhere. When he came back out to fix it he wound up blowing a fuse and making matters even worse. Nothing was working when he decided to leave. We hired an electrical company to come fix the problem. It cost 3,000 dollars to fix what there guy messed up. When we presented the bill to Acme to get remebursed the owner refused to pay. We had to take them through the ROC. We won there license was taken away until they paid us in full. It was funny how fast the check came after the court date. Stay away from this pool company!

I've used this service for a few years and they are great. My pool technician is efficient and quick, often coming and going without me even knowing it. But every time he leaves my pool is sparkling clean and I love it. I've only needed to talk to someone twice in two years and both times the woman I spoke to was professional and very helpful.
Description of Work: Twice a week a pool tech comes to clean out any debris in my pool and add whatever chemicals are needed to make sure my pool stays clean. The monthly cost may vary depending on what chemicals are used but everything I am charged for is always listed on my bill.
