Bad experience! We had TKS install a new irrigation system, rock, plants, a paver border, floating travertine steps, and tile on the patio in our back yard. I was going to have TKS do the artificial turf as well, but when the quote came in significantly higher than expected, I looked for ways to cut costs, and found a much cheaper alternative. The sales rep was frustrated with this and mentioned it several times throughout the project, but never tried to win that business back by working with us on the price. He also apparently does not really know enough about landscaping to do his job well because he had his subcontractors perform the work in the wrong order, which caused issues with the turf install. The folks I hired to do the artificial turf discovered that they could not do it properly because the floating steps TKS installed are 1 inch too low compared to the patio. I reached out to TKS as soon as this was discovered, and the owner, Todd, got back to me quickly and had someone come out and look at it two days later. The rep he sent out agreed that the installs were done in the wrong order and that the floating steps were about 1 inch too low because of this. She even pointed out that the paver border was also too low and did not meet the tile due to this error. Almost one week after that rep came out to take a look at the error, I still had not heard from TKS about a solution. I sent two texts to Todd with no response. It was not until I called and left a message that he called back to offer me a quote (charge me!) to come out to do the work again because I supposedly "wanted to make some changes," and the "the job was done according to the original quote." Why would I ask for a job to be done wrong?? The quote had nothing to do with the order the job was done in, and it is their job as professionals to determine what order items are installed…that’s why I hired “professionals.” Todd also refused to come out and look at the job himself to determine if it was done wrong...which is very telling of his integrity. Also…the tile installers TKS used were unprofessional while working at my home and did a poor job. I had to have them rip up some of the tile and reinstall because it looked so bad. At one point, one of them was screaming on the phone in Spanish in my backyard for all my neighbors to hear. When they were done, the owner, Todd, let me know that then had left, and I should lock my gate. I didn't think too much of this until I got a call from the POLICE (when we were not home and on the other side of the Valley)! Apparently there was a dispute between the tile installers and Todd, and they had threatened to come to my home and destroy the tile. Todd did not give us a heads up about this!
