Description of Work: Mr. Bircham came out to look at the job site, went over the details with my husband and gave us a price. We accepted his bid and scheduled the job. The night before he was to do the job, he canceled and we had to reschedule for the following week. He came late in the day, and installed a new steel door. The workmanship saw cutting and cutting in holes for the locks wasn't the neatest and saw dust debris was left all over the wood lentil inside above the door. We would've been happy to pay a little more for superior workmanship. The spare door lock was installed, however, unbeknown to us, we needed a new dead bolt as well. We had to purchase such the next day and install the new dead bolt and door lock ourselves.

Description of Work: We would highly recommend William Birchard Remodeling. BJ and Paul showed up from day one until the job was finished. They were not only professional but friendly and very good workers. BJ answered our calls in a timely manner and on one occasion came over within a short time after our call and checked out a problem that ended up not due to the remodeling project. He went out of his way to help us and had no problem with us calling him. We are very satisfied with both our bathrooms and plan to use William Birchard Remodeling again. Our son will use them to do a remodel of one of his bathrooms.

 + -1 moreThe original company said it would be 2 weeks before they could return to finish the work and they refused to come back & cover this huge hole with plastic or any other product. I called BJ and he was here within hours and had the work completed by noon the next day! It was also cheaper than what the other company wanted to charge my insurance. Now that is service!
Description of Work: My AC flooded my attic. My insurance company sent this company out to dry the area out & they cut a huge hole in my ceiling to the attic. Then they left without covering this gaping hole! The heat (110 degrees) and bugs were coming in my house!

 + 0 moreOur aging water heater was making strange noises and heating water very poorly. We did some shopping on our own, but consulted BJ for his recommendation. He was able to get a better water heater and install lit for less money than we could have purchased on our own with no installation included. He was timely, efficient, and professional and shared his usual laugh and family stories with us. He is our new "go to" guy for all things major and minor with our home.
Description of Work: Bought, transported and installed a new water heater. Disposed of old tank.

 + -1 moreBJ was assisted by his father-in-law, the project taking only one day for all the windows. His personable character allows him to laugh and joke while completing the work efficiently, and professionally. We had several estimates--his was not the least expensive, but it was definitely best based on timelines, efficiency, and professional recommendations on just how to proceed. We'll use him again.
Description of Work: We used BJ based on our neighbor’s recommendation because he had installed their replacement windows. We replaced all the windows in the house except for two with double pane plastic frames at BJ's recommendation. He had several ideas about how to replace a sliding glass door that we never used with a French window combo with sliding opening windows on the bottom.

 + 1 moreAt BJ's recommendation we used a business for replacing the floors in our home, both a laminate floor and carpeting. We had a serious scuffing problem from wooden chair legs on the laminate surface. BJ designed a way to saw the legs so that their load bearing surface was parallel to the floor so that felt washers cushioned their impact. He then showed me how to do the rest of the chair legs, a great money and time saving convenience. As part of the carpet install mentioned above, we had an electrical short from a broken wall socket. It was a "switched" socket that I was unable to make work correctly. BJ had it working correctly in about 5 minutes.... What a pro! Additionally he helped me saw some grooves in a shelf I was building so that it would secure the stool I stored on it. He wouldn't accept any pay for this assistance. BJ is a personable, likeable, happy go lucky guy who loves helping people solve the little and big problems in maintaining their home. He always arrives with a laugh and a story to go with it. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

 + 5 moreBJ and his helper worked for several days on this big project. Of course there's always a glitch somewhere and ours was the cracked flange on the shower drain. After renting a jackhammer and chiseling out the shower floor, BJ was as close as I've seen him to being in a dark mood--but his usually sunny personality took over and the rest of the install was uneventful. At his suggestion, he installed an overhead rain shower fixture with all the plumbing and valving to go with it. We had many laughs about that shower, and my wife's application of some homemade treats made him "all's well with the world." We enjoy our new bathrooms immensely with their quality workmanship.
Description of Work: Based on our previous experience with BJ, we chose him to remodel both our batthrooms. He did countertops, cabinets, fixtures, and sinks, but did not paint or replace the bathtub in one bathroom. He was especially helpful in picking matching countertops, including a nonstandard height on one, molded in place sinks, fixtures, especially shower fixtures, and cabinets.

Description of Work: We found Birchard Remodeling through a friend. Our friends had B.J. with Birchard Remodeling do some work to their home and they said he was wonderful. My husband and I are working on some small projects and building up to some larger ones, so we had B.J. come give us some ideas about extending our carport, remodeling our floors and help to create a vision for an outdoor kitchen in our pool area! We started with the floors in our bedrooms. B.J. was on time, very professional and was even kind enough to show my husband some pointers, just incase he ever attempted to do a tile project himself! We have plans to have Birchard Remodeling back once our tax return comes in!
