It all went superbly well. Jim and his assistant (usually Ruben) were very knowledgeable and extremely efficient; what a great team.They made a punch list of work to be done, and tackled it one item at a time: installed three new ceiling fans (supplied by owner); replaced eight hard-wired smoke detectors (supplied by owner); supplied and installed GFCI outlets where needed; supplied and replaced all circuit breakers in the main panel with the correct brand and replaced incorrect screws with the right kind; installed a weatherproof switch cover plate to replace a broken one. When Jim first thought that a bad ballast was the reason two tubes in a 4-tube fluorescent fixture were not working, he discovered that the wiring had never been connected! Two wire nuts later and he had saved me the cost of buying a new ballast! After Jim's first visit on October 22, (the first of three total visits--we had to wait for the new fans to be delivered before he could install them), and after the original punch list was created, our outdoor lights failed! Every time we turned them on a circuit breaker would trip and they would go off. Diagnosing and repairing this new problem took the better part of a day; once again, it was the result of improper wiring by the previous owner that caused the lights to fail. They now work delightfully. On his last visit Jim remembered that he had left a small smudge on the ceiling after installing one of the fans, a smudge I would not have noticed, and climbed up on his ladder to clean it off. Now that's what I call conscientious attention to detail. We'll be calling on Jim to install another ceiling fan in the future, and for any other electrical needs that arise. What a great man to work with.

Steve was very professional and analyzed the problem carefully.

Jim and his associates were punctual and pleasant and worked at a steady pace. work would have been installed in allotted time but he found code violations and proceeded to up date them for us. This is the second time we have used united electric and would do so again.

Jim and Matt did an excellent job on both projects. They communicated well, making certain we were happy with the placement and function of the new light. Jim found and fixed several areas that might have been the cause of the GFCI tripping. We've not had a problem since. He also worked with us to keep down the cost of project. Overall, we were very pleased with United Electric and would not hesitate to hire them again.

Steve responded quickly to our call for service and set up our install within the following week. His team was here on time and completed the job in a professional and timely manner. One of the fans we purchased had issues after install which had nothing to do with the install and his team came back to install a new at no cost. We were very grateful and surprised that his company would do that. This goes to show that United electric co. has integrity and great business practices. Electricians were puctual and professional. Worked concienciously to rectify older electrical issues, cleaned up after themselves, always called before they showed up.

Job done was mostly acceptable (not tottally acceptable with some things left undone) but I don't believe the provider was the best choice I could have made. I chose the company based on the reviews but ended up disappointed. The owner, Steve, does the talking on the phone but does not show up on the job. He seems to be running an agency where he hires electricians as needed. The other Angie's list service people who are rated so highly are the ones you speak with on the phone and who come to do the job in my experience . I just don't trust this kind of service provider and won't be using them again to get the undone items finished. They charge by the hour and take a very long time to go get parts and that seems suspicious to me but maybe that's just my problem, you decide.

All went well until, after the job was complete, I noticed that two of the lights were not working properly. Upon learning of this issue Jim, the electrician, promptly returned and fixed the lights to my complete satisfaction.

They showed up on time and even saved me money from the estimate. I couldn't be more pleased with the responsiveness and ongoing updates on the job.

The electrical outlet that services my dryer failed. I found United Electric using Angie's list and I placed a call with United Electric to evaluate an repair the outlet and inspect the circuit. I placed left a message for the company to call me at approx 9:00 pm Early the following morning Steve (the Owner) called me to discuss the issue. He scheduled a crew of two (Jim and Nick) to service my request. The technicians arrived on schedule and they quickly identified the root cause and fixed the problem. Additionally, they provided a thorough explanation for the repairs. They were professional and courteous at all times. The owner of the business (Steve) added a personal and short biography and history of his company to the bill. This was an extremely personal and professional touch to excellent service. I would absolutely recommend this business to others based on my personal experience. I will contact this company again if I need electrical work at my house.

My initial call was returned within a few hours. Spoke with the owner Steve who had one of his electricians, Jim, call and set up an appointment for the following day. Jim and his assistant Nick arrived on time. They were polite, dealt with my concerns, and installed a new fixture at my request. I was given an estimate of costs before they started and the final bill was less than what I was told. Both men were very professional, worked quickly, and cleaned up nicely after they finished. I definitely would use United Electric if any other electrical problems occur.

Steve and his crew are aces in my book. Everything from the original estimate, to the installation, and finally the billing was top drawer. If you need electrical service, don't waste time looking around, just go ahead and call Steve. He and his service are a breath of professional fresh air in the vast wasteland of Tucson service organizations.

They were very professional. Steve and Larry worked with us to help us pass inspection. Because of our previous experience, we had a lot of problems getting things passed. They helped us with our tight budget. Steve is the owner and a very good guy. They cleaned up their mess and they were awesome. The price was accurate for the quality of work they provided.

Excellent quality and excellent service from my initial contact by phone to completion of the work. We live in a house built around 15 years ago and one external electrical circuit contained three GFI's. Periodically one would trip and then the others would follow. By resetting them in the correct order, power would be restored. However in the latest incident, that wouldn't work so all external electrical outlets and devices were without power. I tried replacing them with new GFI's but the new ones tripped immediately upon being reset. I was now beyond my limits of knowledge about electrical circuits so I called United and spoke with Steve and explained the problem. He had his crew at my house first thing the next morning. They too seemed a bit perplexed as to why this circuit had been installed this way and got right to work to diagnose the problems. In the end, they not only got everything working again but they also had arranged it such that the three GFI's are now independent of one another. They also identified a damaged outlet cover and replaced it with a new protective box. When they left, they said my bill would come in the mail. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived as it was about $100 less than I would have expected given the time and materials involved in the repairs. I would definitely use United again and would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality and affordable electrical repairs.

All work was done after consulting us for locations, etc. Fans were removed and reinstalled follwed by the dining room chandeler removal and location of the new light bar. Outdoor outlet was the final work. The electricans were friendly and cooperative. An overall EXCELLENT job.

I've never had such outstanding service from an electrician. They responded to my service call within a day, called on the day of the service to let me know when they were coming, arrived punctually, and kept asking whether there was anything else they could do for me. As a handicapped senior citizen I was most grateful for their finding other jobs that needed to be done without pushing me to do them if I didn't want to. United Electric has earned my highest compliments,

The accident, which resulted in both of my rental units having no power, happened sometime Friday morning. I was notified by TEP of this incident, which required permits and inspections before service could be restored. Unfortunately, I couldn't get this started immediately, having called a number of electrical contractors. Steve, from United Electric was the most helpful in attempting to help me giving some other contacts, since his crew was already on other calls. Having been unsuccessful in my endeavors, I called Steve who agreed to meet me Monday morning to get this work underway. Steve's intervention in all the necessary processes of permits and inspection after the work was completed resulted in the restoration of power the next day. I was informed of the progress throughout the days by Steve and Jim. This was a big job and despite the problem of having this accident happen over a weekend, I couldn't be happier with the quick and efficient job provided to me. The price was much less than I expected, and will certainly use this company again and recommend them to others.

It's a great company practices great customer service skills owner has incredible integrity. There intern employee structure is just not for me. Great company though

Steve and his electricians were terrific. Steve came to the house to take a look at what we wanted to do & made suggestions how to accomplish each project. He provided a proposal the following day with each project itemized separately. We had a tight timeline for the office outlets, but our porch fan had to be special ordered, so his electricians completed the office & BBQ projects on the first visit. When the fan finally arrived, the electricians returned to install the wiring for the final project. The electricians were great....they took time to discuss with us the exact location of each item. When we received the invoice, Steve had reduced the price because the work was completed "in record time". The whole experience was a pleasure....we ended up with exactly what we wanted. We will definitely be using Steve again for future projects.

Steve was extremely patient with my indecisiveness in locating the outlet. When time came to perform the work Steve's guys came out and did the job quickly, properly, and professionally! I will call Steve for my next job!

Steve was prompt in showing up to give the estimate. Called him back a couple of days later to accept his bid and that's when I mentioned the Angie's list discount. He agreed to it and said he would do the work in a couple of days. Waited a week and he never showed up. I surmise that he decided after the Angie's list discount, doing the job wasn't worth his time. I did leave him a message to ask, What's up?, but never got a callback. Overall poor communication and after a no-show and no callback, I would say his punctuality is lacking. I would not recommend.

The issue with the electirical outlets was reported to my home warranty company who had assigned another electrical company to come to the house to diagnose the issue with the outlets. The electrician determined that there were 3 total outlets impacted and that the wiring had gone bad and needed to be replaced and rerun from the eletrical panel to the outlets. This was not covered by the home warranty but the electrician provided a quote for the repair. Since the repair was not covered by the warranty, I contacted several other electrical companies to get a quote for the repair including United Electric. Steve contacted me and discussed the issue over the phone. He was skeptical that the wiring would be bad due to the age of the home and suggested checking out the GFI outlets that might potentially be on the same line as the outlets that were not working. It turned out that the issue was caused by a tripped GFI. Even though I did not need service to be performed, this saved me a significant cost for repairing something that was not broken. I appreciated his professionalism in handling my service request.
