The Cleaning Authority

Used Cleaning Authority for 6 months before giving up. The first 2 times things were broken,company didn’t offer reimbursement. Other times things not cleaned well,garbage not emptied,etc. final event was jewelry and medications being taken. When company contacted they did not call back or email to discuss the issue.

I used the Cleaning Authority for several months, then gave up on them due to some disturbing things. First, you never know who is going to be coming to clean your house, so you can’t establish any kind of relationship with them. If they are coming in when you are at work, that kind of anonymity—strangers in your home—feels uncomfortable. More disturbing was an event when I noticed that one of the cleaners had several boils on his arm, one quite large. When I asked the person about it, they replied that they’d been in the hospital for some time being treated for a serious systemic Staphylococcus infection. When I pushed a little, they said they had an infection of MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). MRSA infections can be spread by simple skin-to-skin contact, as well as from things carrying the bacteria. They can cause sepsis and be fatal. When I talked with the company owner/manager about this, she became very defensive and belligerent, insisting that it was not MRSA and that the employee was not infective. I found her response inappropriate, I did not trust her, and it left me with an overall feeling that she does not do her due-diligence with her employees.

Started out excellent then got worse as time went on. Had to redo last time after pointing out shortcomings the month before. Pictures are after they finished cleaning.

Never again! I really wanted to like The Cleaning Authority. The price seemed reasonable, and, at first, the cleaners were mostly on task and friendly. Over time, though, the team members kept changing and the quality of the work slowly went down. I started noticing that their rotation of tasks weren't really a rotation (as another reviewer stated). The special care for nick-knacks never happened. The crew would leave and I could wipe dust off them the minute they left. But, the thing that really chased me away was the BROKEN SINK! That's right. One of the cleaners broke my bathroom sink! I was in another room at the time and heard the crash. I waited, but no one came, and I just thought that the cleaner dropped cleaning supplies. About ten minutes later, there was a knock on my door. A distraught cleaner apologized and motioned toward the bathroom. When I saw the broken sink, I couldn't believe my eyes. The bowl was cracked! The area had been cleaned up, so I couldn't tell how it had happened. The crew left and I called management. At first, I was told that no one could come by to see the damage until the following week. I urged the supervisor to come over ASAP. There was some foot-dragging, but the supervisor did come before 5pm. She looked at the sink and said that this had happened with another customer, a judge, whose sink was already broken before the crew had got there, but the company had replaced it anyway. The implication was unpleasant and disturbing. The following Monday, I got a phone call from a different representative. She told me that the company would buy a replacement sink, but that I would have to pay $75 because their insurance company had depreciated the value of my sink (!). They would pay only be $65. My husband called and talked to the rep, saying, "Let me get this straight, I pay you money to clean my home AND you want me to pay for whatever damage The Cleaning Authority incurs?!" I again stated that they were responsible for the breakage and they should pay the full cost of replacement. Finally, I got a call back and the supervisor said that the company's owner would, out of the kindness of his heart, take the $75 out of his own pocket to make up the difference (I heard tiny violins). I replied, Well, that's what I would do if I'd broken something in YOUR home! Accidents happen, and I felt sorry for the workers who probably got into a lot of trouble. I believe if I hadn't been home at the time, I wouldn't have got my sink replaced.

I had them clean for a few years. My house at times would smell bad after they left. Bad mop? also I would have to redo some of the areas that they said they took care of. They were rude when I tried to talk to them about the issues.

The more they came .. The worse they got .. I would have to redo things when they left ..

They are coming tomorrow. They come every three weeks. They send two to three ladies and they are there for two to three hours. They have a key to my house and they do come when I'm not home. If my dog happens to be here there is absolutely no problem. They really are good people and they also give her the treats that I have here so that is my only complaint but they don't overdo it.

We used Cleaning Authority September 2012 - March 2013. At first I was very pleased with the cleanings - we were set up to have our house cleaned twice a month and everything looked great. However, on three occasions the cleaning crew was late and showed up after their two hour window. The first two times I received phone calls with an accurate estimate of when the crew would arrive. The third time it happened I received a phone call to update when the crew would arrive, but they did not even arrive by the new time they set up. The other problem I began having was with the work itself. The quality of the cleaning deteriorated. Jobs that they listed as performing that day, were clearly not done (wiping down baseboards for example). After the crew being late a number of times and being dissatisfied with the cleanings, I decided to find a new company for cleaning our home.

No problems at all. Inspectors from The Cleaning Authority stop in at times to check on everything, and make sure the cleaning is done to their standards. If you should find a problem, just call the company and someone will be out to fix it. I've never had a problem.

Both of our supposed deep, spring cleans left A LOT to be desired. You shouldn't see all the things they missed immediately after a cleaning! Many things didn't get dusted, spots were missed on the tile that you could see from standing height, there was visible debris on the carpets, we could feel debris on our bare feet, and the tile was left with a very sticky feel to it after the mopping. I let the supervisor know after the first time, and she said that we didn't get the women who would be our regular crew on our first clean, and assured me all would be well for our second clean. However, the second clean was even worse. When I complained again, she told me again that we didn't get our and quot;regularand quot; crew. Part of their sales pitch is that your house will be the same level of clean, regardless of who comes to clean it, so that didn't help us at all. They do offer to come back and re-clean anything that was missed the next day, or even the same day if there is enough time; however, I was not going to take more time out of my day to wait around during their 2-hour arrival windows to have something cleaned again in a less than satisfactory manner. I emailed my concerns and to cancel our service on two occasions. Both times, whoever found the email (they have one phone number and one email address for all managers, so it's hard to get in touch with the person you contracted with) deleted it without getting back to me. I only knew this because the manager I contracted with called to see how I felt about the second cleaning, many days after it had gone badly and I had detailed this and cancelled our service. She asked us to let them come again, for free, and if we weren't satisfied she would not bother us again. We told her we didn't want to worry each cleaning about whether or not we were getting one of the good teams, and to have to check our house each time to see what they missed. We could not in good conscience take the free cleaning, as we knew there was no way we would continue to do business with a company that is disorganized and not run well. I would not recommend this particular franchise to anyone, and I would be very hesitant to try another franchise of this company again.

Very pleased with the service provided. Magda and Yolanda are hard working, professional, polite and thorough. I feel comfortable having them in my home, even when I'm not present.

We will be receiving services from the Cleaning Authority every 2 weeks. They use a check list for total clean with areas of concentration for more detailed cleaning on each visit. A supervisor came by after the work was done to check on quality since it we were new client. Initial visit was $120 for deeper clean. Subsequent visits will be $94. They are a franchise operation so the owners are usually local. We use them in Colorado also. They work in teams of two people. We were very happy with our clean fur free (dog) house.

They did great cleaning, but repeatedly damaged my property. For example, they broke a bowl, locked my cats in the garage on a hot day (with no water), and finally turned all the Plug Ins upside down. The scented oil dripped out and stained the grout in my tile. The owner was vrey committed to making things right (he even sent a contractor to look at the grout and offered to tear it out and re-grout it) but it was exhausting coming home every time to find what damage had been done this time. Even when nothing was damaged, my belongings were always askew and I had to and quot;pick upand quot; after the house cleaners.

We have used this company for years. They are great-- except for the office staff. They are highly disorganized in the office. However, the people that come and clean the house are honest and do an excellent job.

We've been very happy with them. They are flexible with scheduling (we have them come every other week), the price is very reasonable, and the quality of their work is good. They leave a printed report every time describing what work was performed. And occasionally a supervisor will come to inspect their work as well. They always call the day before to confirm a time window when the staff will arrive, they provide their own cleaning supplies, and they all seem to be very friendly. Overall, the entire operation feels very professional. The only thing I wish they included is cleaning windows, but that doesn't bother us too much.

They have a list of things that I can pick and choose based on what I choose to pay. They are competitive, I shopped around.

They are very good, reliable, and easy to work with. I liked them completely. They were flexible, unlike another company I tried. I would highly recommend them. They were prompt and on time. They got right to work and used green products. They were very, very thorough.
