+ -1 moreCompany was supposed to conduct a termite inspection. Was told they would arrive within a 2 hour "window". Took off of work to meet inspector. Called to confirm time frame and number they have on file and requested a 1/2 hour courtesy call. Never received courtesy call. After the 2 hour "window", I contacted company to ask where the inspector was at. I was told the appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. I was transferred to multiple people and had to explain the situation each time. One person told me the appointment was cancelled because the inspector didn't show up. Another person told me it was cancelled because I requested it (which I did not, I was confirming appointment). A third person said it was always scheduled for the following day (which it was not). At one point, I was on hold for approximately 10 minutes before they hung up on me. It's hard to have faith that this company will do a good job when they can't even get a simple appointment correct. Not to mention the horrible customer service I received. I will never use Terminix.

+ -1 moreI was sympathetic the first time he couldn't come, he said to call the office and tell them HE said I could reschedule at my convenience, I called and the lady laughed at me and said that was not possible!!! So much for customer service. Also he said the local office was in Dallas, Texas and they didn't realize the distances involved when they did the scheduling, I thought how could they call Dallas, Texas a local office??? They second time he cancelled I was not as sympathetic and told him so. I called the office and asked to speak to the manager, and was told he was out, I gave my name and phone number and asked to be called as I was being treated poorly. I never did receive a call. As I had paid my yearly fee, finally a tech came out and did the termite inspection in a total of 5 minutes, clearly not adequate. To sum up my experience I will not allow Terminix in my house again, nor would I recommend them. These same people that would never call back or schedule appointments, now that I did not renew my contract can't seem to leave me alone, I have asked several times for them to stop calling and emailing me!!!!!
Description of Work: called to cancel appointment twice, the first time he was up in Red Rock and his truck broke down, second time he said he had a Doctors appointment, I said that was not my problem.

+ -1 moreHave an annual contract that carried over from RP Streiff. We called 3 weeks ago to inform them of a new termite tube on my foundation. ( about a month after inspection) We were told that the manager would give us a call that day. Received no call. We called back the next day and they said that someone would come out the next day to inspect. No show! Called back a third time, they again promised a technician would come out the next day. Again no show! Called a fourth time, and were promised someone would come out that day to treat the house! They did show up, but to perform an inspection, instead of a treatment. Note: They do not move any rock/gravel, it is a "visual" inspection only! They concluded the house needed a treatment (duh), we were told by the manager that they would re-treat the whole house (it has been 8 years since a full treatment). The technician showed up this morning with no information from the previous inspection, and only spot treated the area after I pointed out the location (grrrr). Pest/Termite control is a highly competitive business where the primary discriminator is customer service... Good Luck Terminix! You now have one less customer.

+ -1 moreThey promise prompt service if you have a problem. It's a lie. I have waited 26 days for the service call regarding an active site. Today I was told they canceled. "The technician is out". So now I have to wait two more days. I am on a "service plan" where I pay monthly for all their supposed guarantees. I believe they don't make as much money on this which is why they're not here. If I called in to pay cash they'd most likely be here in a flash. Anyhow the time before this, it took them 6 WEEKS to make the call. This time it's going to be at least 30 days (if they don't cancel again). Totally unsatisfactory. "F" is too kind. Also, the service performed is spotty. Some techs seem to want to do a good job; others are just in a hurry to see how fast they can get out.
Description of Work: Not yet. Nothing, never showed up. AGAIN. more excuses. Exceedingly poor service!

+ -1 moreThe main problem is that they advertise "same day solutions" if you have a problem--- like an active infestation. They DO NOT deliver on the promise. I called them in April of 2014 and it took them SIX WEEKS to come to the house: totally unacceptable. I called September 4th 2014 for a problem in the same area as earlier and was told that September 30th is the earliest they can come. That is 26 days before they will come here. While on the phone for the 4th time calling the headquarter office in Tennessee, the advertising I had to listen to repeatedly said " ...same day solution, strongest guarantee in the business, solution within 24 hours". 6 weeks is not even close to 24 hours. 26 days is bad too. Service is a total farce.

Then the tech decided to call last minute and "see if he could come over." They are wildly unprofessional and clearly dont keep promises.

+ -1 moreI've described fully in the previous paragraph that my issue is with the financing, not the nice local folks who actually provided the treatment. I won't know for a while if the treatment really worked. And we'll see if I can get the issue with Terminix Finance (Servicemaster Acceptance Company). I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Description of Work: Terminix provided termite treatment. There was no problem with service itself. However, I was offered and was stupid enough to take the 90 day interest-free financing. (Terminix is owned by a finance company -- Servicemaster Acceptance Company-- and exists really only to generate these loans.) As it turns out this financing is meant to trick and trip you up. They charged me a late fee although my first payment arrived 10 days before the due date. The second bill arrived only 3 days before the due date although they specifically say to mail payment at least 7 days before the due date (which I actually did do without the prompting of bill in the mail but I don't imagine most people are that neurotic). You can only pay by mail. There is no online payment and if you pay by phone there is an extra service charge. The bill itself shows no information about the account -- no listing of previous payment or current balance or any of those normal items. Clearly they are not just aiming to make money on the interest charges (which they will no doubt find a way to charge despite the 90day interest-free promise) but to get you coming and going with fees you somehow can't avoid. If you want to use Terminix and need to finance the service, put it on your own regular credit card. But better yet. Don't use Terminix.

+ -1 moreI called them today regarding a problem with a desert rodent in my crawl space. No problems. They don't like to give any sort of estimated cost over the phone, but finally did when I insisted that I had to have a ball park figure to consider doing business with them. The office staff was very polite and efficient, although their system is to gather personal information before referring the call to a "sales person/technician". It seems that they have some sort of rather high pressure sales routine mandated by management, which can be frustrating, but the individuals are all very effective. In the end, it may be more cost-effective for me to use a different company for the specific problem I am currently trying to deal with. When I had the same issue several years ago, I inadvertently used a different company for treatment and I still have that company's bait stations, which may have a significant impact on the new cost of treatment. I will obtain estimates from both companies and, unless their is a significant expense difference, I will used Terminex without hesitation.
Description of Work: I have been using Terminix annually for termite protection/warranty for the past seven years. They do a good and thorough inspection each year, have always been courteous and professional, and I will use them in the future. I am surprised to see a B rating because they have three A's and three B's, plus a history of A service. I would recommend them without hesitation. Thanks for reading

+ -1 moreCame in within 24 hours, gave estimate on the spot. when I mentioned I wanted to check around, the full court press for a close came in play - right down to a huge scare tactic about a poor women who fell through her wall and never even had "anything visible"!!! Get it done NOW --- This poor woman had extremely expensive repair bills cause she waited. The more I thought about, the madder I got. Especially after I talked with a few other companies!!

+ -1 moreThey are excellent. It's usually the same employee. They are very consistent and call ahead of time. They are very effective. If a critter shows up, they will come back out and take care of it. I have used other pest controls and it had been a disaster.

I had a little disagreement with them in the past. There were two types of termites it turned out that I had a question about it and they said they would not cover that type of termite.

+ -1 moreWe have them every three months. They are pretty good. We have had them for years. They are convenient. We use them to kill cockroaches. Every once in a while, we get a scorpion, so they come right out and redo the spraying. We hate to use all that poison in the house but it is better than having bugs in the home. The guy who comes out every three months is John. We pick up the dogs and carry them outside while he is inside and we bring the dogs back in when he is outside. Their quality is okay. Their chemicals don’t smell. They are not intrusive. We don’t have anyone to compare them to on price. They come out every time and are consistent and very punctual. We would continue to use them in the future.
