This was not for a water heater. I told the plumber the problem if no hit water and needed a cartridge. First of all, I was overcharged for replacing a cartridge in my shower/tub faucet. Temp con was here for less than 45 minutes. He did not know how to get the handle off the shower; I had to provide a hex key to get it off. After looking at the cartridge and having my faucet apart; he quoted me the price. I felt it was overcharged but I had been waiting 4 hours past the window of time for the appointment and I had company coming. The cartridge likely cost around $50 but I was charged over $400.00 with a senior discount of $378.00. This would have been over $300 an hour for his service! Outrageous to charge a senior citizen!!

Know the cost of replacement parts before you hire. Tech offered to install a cartridge for a shower valve for about $400 (part only). The part (non-brand name like Danco) can be purchased at any hardware store for less than $35.

I like the work they did but it wasn't completed in one day as agreed. Will be returning at a later date to complete the project.
