Chris was a life saver and money saver! Thank you Chris!

PS---I was a bit nervous to have Staltari Electric at first having read  the negative report about him on Angie's list.We discussed the situation with Chris and I am happy to report all positives for Chris as opposed to the previous negative report. He is a hard working honest person and will do what he is supposed to do but NOT anything that would be detrimental to his reputation or professionalism!

This company was contracted by Sears to deliver and install my new dishwasher, as well as deliver the install kit, and take away the old dishwasher.   They came a day late.   The man delivered the unit but was too lazy to install the new unit, as he was paid to do.  He just looked at it and said it looked too difficult.   He left the new dishwasher in my living room uninstalled instead of installed and working under the kitchen counter.   It wasn't difficult to install, my elderly husband, who is not a professional installer, had no trouble doing it himself the next day.   However, the Saltarie Electric man did not leave the install kit which we had purchased, so my husband had to go buy another install kit the next day, before he could install the dishwasher.   The Saltarie Electric installer did to take away the old unit, as he had been paid to do.   He made no excuses for why he didn't leave the install kit or take away the old unit.   I made several phone calls to the company asking the owner, Chris, to return my calls and tell me why his employee did not install my dishwasher, did not leave the install kit and did not take away the old unit.  The company did not return any of my many phone calls.  Do not use this company.   Meanwhile, the Kenmore dishwasher works great, and you can only buy it from Sears, but if you buy from Sears, do not let them assign you Saltarie Electric as installers.   Object and request another installer.
Response from Staltari Electrical Services
"This review should have been directed to the salesperson at the Sears store who sold this installation. We are just sub contractors who have to deal with Sears sales errors on a daily basis. This service location is over 60 miles from the nearest install tech. This is considered an "out of area" job. The store is not supposed promise a specific date on out of area jobs. It is up to the installer to negotiate a date with the customer that fits both their schedules. The installation that the store sold is called a basic install. It assumes that the current installation is standard and to code. This means deliver the item, remove the old unit and connect the new one to the existing "code approved" utilities. However, this was not a basic install. This was not to code and required extensive extra work to complete. When the customer was told this she insisted he complete the install because she had paid for it and was not going to pay for any extra charges. The tech spoke to the husband who suggested he remove part of the cabinets to gain access to the water lines. The tech explained to him the same as to the wife. We are not required to perform any installation that cannot be done to code. In situations like this we can give the customer an estimate for the extras that need to be done and they can accept or reject it. Sears national installation office called the customer and was unable to explain any of this to her either. She still insisted that the installation should be completed for the price she paid. They have since issued her a refund of all costs related to this transaction. As for taking away the old DW, if we weren't doing the install we would not be removing the old one. On her issue with the install kit, he simply forgot to leave it. Below are the tech notes and Sears response copied from the Sears service order: I showed up yesterday at 2:45pm (15min early) to install their DW. First thing I notice is that it's located around the corner from the sink area, with a lazy-susan cabinet in between the sink and the DW. The water supply line and the drain line are run, underneath this cabinet. So I'm thinking as long as I can use the existing supply/drain lines, I'll be able to do this install. Well, after taking off the front trim panel of the DW and closely inspecting the water supply line, I came to the conclusion that there is evidence of this existing supply line leaking water in the past. I told the lady that I cannot go forward with the install because of this problem. The husband (over the phone) told me to remove the cabinet back and to use a string method to pull the new lines through using the old ones to tie the string to. All good ideas but for one, I am not allowed to disassemble a cabinet to do an install, and two, you can't drag the lines through because of the distance and corners they take. So I had to respectfully decline and left the DW in the house. Of course that's when she got really mad. So I tried to help her put her furniture back after we had moved it to get the new DW into the house. She's going off on me as we are moving a couch back, I'm trying to remain calm and just get out of there and in my haste I forgot to drop off the new dish hook up kit that was sitting in my truck. Sears Resolution: (Public) Issue Resolution removing item from problem status case was made but refund was processed already per CSS and notes indicate customer no longer needs install they did install themselves. Our company has been performing appliance installations for Sears, Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowes for over 10 years. This customer has a legitimate issue but the issue is with Sears and not us."
