I hired Jose Martinez trusting he would perform and complete the job with integrity. This was an insurance claim, I shared with him the amount of money the insurance was paying for the repairs. That was my mistake, I trusted in someone who saw dollar signs and what he thought was an ignorant woman. I had to pay him for work he did not complete otherwise he would not sign a release of lein. After he layed the flooring, prepped the bath surround for tile, painted and initiated the base boards I began to question where the money was being invested. His response was "it doesn't matter as long as your home is being repaired" He wanted to walk away with the amount that was paid for my home repairs and telling me to pick out the most inexpensive material, tile, etc. In addition to this he did not cover any of my furniture while working in my home. My dining table was covered in paint splashes, my brand new flooring was NEVER covered. He chipped my brand new bath tub, he broke my bathroom light fixture and did not remove any nails from the walls before painting he simply painted over them. He also did not cover the holes in the wall from old nails. He told me that is what the final walk through is for, to point out these things. When I raised a concern he would tell me its a big deal to me because I don't know any better. Over all, he spoke to me in a very demeaning way. I am deeply disappointed things turned out bad because I trusted Jose to work in my home and never expected this from him. I would not recommend him. I've had to hire others to correct his work.
